This chapter encompasses so much that is unfair in society. A patriarchal order propagated by women themselves, the fear of what society thinks more important than what your own child has to say. Garima is happy to partake of the fruits of her daughter's earnings, just not of her daughter.
You are showing the innate selfishness of the characters really well. Waiting to see how Arnav and Shyam (that feels most odd!) will unravel the deceit.

I get parents being hurt and feel themselves drown in shame, but what I don't get it is - is it that easy to just let go of your child?

Both Arnav and Khushi's family severed their ties in a blink, not bothering even to see what is so transparent - that the two of them love each other deeply.

Anjali - as I've said before, self-need is her sole driver. She asked Arnav to leave along with Khushi with such an indifference, and so devoid of emotions. Such loftiness. Doesn't she realise, he is the only one she can family, after Dadi?

But I know some people are that way. Your existence has a value equivalent to a step that'll get them forward.

An all and all Arnav Khushi chapter and I loved it!

There was a connection forged between them right from the moment they first set their eyes on each other. And that has only strengthened with all they have faced. What I absolutely love about their bond is their surety of their love - unquestioning and unshakeable.

PS: You really should stop saying you can't write romance as well as angst, cause you just did. ;)

Lovely..their beautiful past is a treat to read..loved the confession from both side..sweet proposal...irrespective of humiliation and family's disapproval both were there for each other..just loved it:)
