Sadly that is not easy to do. In majority of the cases girl's own family is not willing to accept her since they have paid a huge amount of money to the in-laws.Other than that if there are more girls in the family, if the girl get seperated from her husband, other girls marriage is not be so easy. Even now, when a woman go to a police station with a complaint against her husband (with out support from any influential person or NGO) she may be branded as a person of loose morale.

And even if the girl who get a divorce has a godd job, it is not easy to live independently. There is harassment in work place, boarding palace(if in a independent house rented/own), everywhere. Even women over forties are not spared, even if they are widows.(this is for women of middle class and below, for higher class it is more liberal)

Every time I meet with an abused, who remains getting beat up because she has no parents / family (social structure) willing to take her back.. breaks my heart. I want to punish those parents severely and subject them to the same abuse as she is forced to go through 😡.
