What is it with you Tanu?
You know you love Rishi
Then why are you having such a hard time girl, with the truth?

You love Rishi but want to please Raj, Pawan and Cha(man)chi
Why is the fear of displeasing people
making you want to keep him away from you?

Why does Tanu try to please others?

Trying to please others is something we all do from time to time - but for Tanu it has become the focus of her life, even if it means destroying her happiness. What she wants has become secondary - or perhaps inconsequential.

It is clear that the crux of the story pre-leap is revolving around Tanu, the people pleaser, neglecting her own needs, happiness and fulfillment, in order to help Pawan, Chachi, Raj and Rano achieve their misconceived goals and happiness.

To us - the viewers, this kind of behavior seems ridiculous and something that many label as the Ekta factor. In reality - the CVs are portraying a real-life people pleaser in Tanu. Yes, to Tanu (and many others in this world) this feels normal and therefore the right thing to do.

I know many IF members have felt anger, rage, and frustration at Tanu for her behavior. But it is my opinion that following the horrible way that she lost her both parents Tanu is convinced that in order to survive it is only safe to put others first and that it is not safe to put her or Ahaana first. Perhaps she fears they will be rejected, abandoned, isolated, and unable to survive.

The assistance of a healer (medical or someone like Karthiyayini) can enable Tanu to accept her needs and wants as normal and acceptable and not as something to be fearful of. As we saw in the pre-cap Karthiyayini will enable Tanu to reveal her true identity. Rishi and she will have to coax her to confess the reasons for her lying about her identity. This self-confession will empower her to face her own demons and work towards living life for herself.

Well said Meena ... Totally liked ur post !
This is basic fact that all Ekta Heroines Are abla naari Tiyag Ki Devi Cinderella types who keeps family united does sacrifice her own desires to make her loved ones happy ...Mostly women watch shows n if they like Female lead they find connection than they watch show. And Trp Aunties loves such characters they see themselves, they see things through female lead eyes her situations her crying tears makes them emotional ... !
Thats why all shows are female oriented ...But kasam is actually most of times getting male oriented unlike it was when started it was more on Tanu in concentration.
Even I m being a Viewer connected to Tanu !

Thank U Meena for this wonderful post - interesting and insightful - as a viewer I am more connected to Tanu for reasons that U beautifully explained. It is very easy for ANY viewer to get irritated with her behavior but if one understands the character and follows the body language, one can feel the fear, love, confusion all emotions wonderfully portrayed by KS. Am eager to see how Tanu will face and accept the truth.
