This is my first ever full fledged deep rooted Analysis. Hope it makes sense and is not too much of a bore. Let's begin!
EDKV has been a whole journey in every sense. In a short span, the serial has not only defined characters but also presented their various shades and of course the dynamics of their colours on screen. So let's have a look in detail of their journey which now forms a complete circle of their lives.
I believe coming events forecast their shadows and the future can be for told with the help of the past events.
1) Suman - One of the twin centres of the entire plot , Suman was initially shown as the confident independent woman, managing her own business. Then we were introduced to her family side, wherein her role in the house is that of sacrifices.
Giving in to other's needs is her key shade. But then she also enjoys being Sumo - the undefeated unafraid girl who is chirpy and bubbly. Quite a contrast.
After a while, we saw her soft side as Suman again - the entry of Shravan made her dreamy and loving. Hopes shattered , insults happened but her Sumo side made her stand strong. She doesn't bend in front of anyone for her needs. Also, she doesn't beg for help. Her mother is her pride and so is her work. That Ramnath needs to understand. Her work is her worship and Shravan her strength.
Life has come about a full turn for her.
And now seeing her standing before this twin headed path, I'm reminded of that scene where Suman had to sacrifice her US dream for her family. She has to chose between her own strength and her family's needs. And in any case, the loss is hers. Coz there's no strength without love and no shelter without family. I wish she can grab both of them in life, at some point of time because I feel she's capable to manage things well. Moreover, she deserves happiness.
2) Shravan - We've talked so much about him, has flaws, he has suppressed emotions And unsaid feelings. Initially shown as the Defiant London Return, we were later given an insight into His past failures and shatterings.
He's one person I've seen breaking all the time, from the beginning. Really can't count how many times he has hurted himself. And this track is no different.
Suman has insulted His love, His emotions and I can see him turning into that 'I care a damn' stubborn brat at the beginning, courtesy Ramnath. Of course, thus time will be different coz he still has her by his side, unknown to him. As Suman once said -Maine Tumharaa Saath Nahi Choda Tha. And I believe Shravan will have her in his vicinity, as His unknown strength. I can't help but realise how every time Shravan leaves her, for no fault of her own. Every layer seems a replica, intensified, of the previous one.
3) Pushkar - A chocolaty boy in the beginning, he turned true friend of Suman and a responsible younger brother to Shravan. We need to understand that we tend to follow things that we see. In Malhotra House, everyone lies under the nose of Ramnath, even Kamini. She may have her own plottings but even she accepts that she can do nothing without Bhaisahab's consent. So Pushkar raising voice against Kamini, backed by Ramnath is too much to expect. When Lalaji himself doesn't have a say, how can Pushkar have? He has seen this monopoly ever since,so I don't expect him to oppose.
Also, we'll wonder about his voice raise when Shravan wasn't bring given His due. But that's how we are. Injustice to others and we aren't scared of anything. But injustice to ourselves and we chose to keep mum. Moreover, I feel this time he is oblivious to the propaganda going on because he's busy dreaming his life, which is fair.
4) Kamini - Initially a typical Chachi, I think the most developed character award goes to her. A well known Girgit, she hates Suman. Hates Shravan. Fakely supports Ramnath for her own good. Dotes on her younger son and is irritated with her Daughter In Law. Her dynamics with Ramnath is the highlight of her character. I remember her going to him for money, creating scenes in the start for power. And Ramnath, portrayed helpless, gave in.
Then slowly, she started collaborating with him apparently, like how she took him to the Tiwari Killa to give a view of Shravan Nirmala.
And now, unknown to his plans, she is trying to unite Shraman for her own selfishness. And the most interesting twist will be seen when She'll stand up against Bhaisahab for her son, like the beginning, during Varun's business money scene. Again, a full turn for her.
5) Ramnath - Baffled is not the word for him. The most honest person turning the most greyish, what a transformation indeed!
Stumped by His change, he is a classic example of ego, parental obsession and manipulation personified. He will go up to any extent for Shravan. And in coming days, their reunion is bound to disappoint him, which brings me to the first episode where he was disappointed with Shravan not coming from London (empty car)
...
Having said all this, its time to know that since every character has taken a full turn, a full circle is complete, it'll be interesting to know that the story ahead is a replica of the previous told tale or will the turn of destiny flip the shades and something fresh will happen?
...
I don't have hopes of Preekar standing up for Shraman, because they're small, don't have much say and also because their elder counterparts won't ever make them feel what's going on, unless they themselves find it out.
High hopes from Kamini to clear the mess, of course for her selfishness only.
Lastly, I'd love seeing Preekar ending up as good friends but not getting married coz I still feel Preeti isn't a good choice for Pushkar.
Regards.
