Part 7
Maan looked down at Geet who was stretched beside him and sleeping peacefully, they'd arrived in the evening at her maternal home and were busy with relatives who'd come to visit them, once they'd all had dinner they retired, Geet prayed her night prayer and slipped into bed feeling exhausted however Maan wasn't able to sleep for some reason. So he lay beside his wife and simply stared down at her.
He reached the lone tendril and pushed it behind her ears with a faint smile adorning his lips. She murmured something and snuggled closer clutching onto his vest, he didn't shift nor move away and let it be enjoying her warmth beside him.
Geet stirred early morning as her alarm rung, she blinked a couple of times adjusting her sight before noticing where she was, she didn't have to look further to know she was in her husband's embrace, his arms wrapped around her stomach with her head resting on his shoulders and her own arms around him, unwillingly she blushed due to his close proximity, she crept out of bed freeing herself and headed into the washroom to freshen up.
Geet smiled at Maan as she exited the washroom, he was sat up and stretching on the bed, she dried her hair before the dressing table patting it dry with the towel, Maan watched for a moment before stepping down from the bed, he reached behind her, Geet stopped and looked at his reflection in the mirror.
"You look pretty cute when you're sleeping" he told her with a soft smile, she dipped her gaze from him, he only grinned seeing her shy, her eyes widened in surprise as he pressed a kiss to her cheek and took the towel from her and walked into the washroom. She grew hot as she could still feel the press of his lips on her cheek, she chewed her bottom lip for a moment before smiling widely shaking her head.
Maan stood beneath the showerhead letting the water shower down, he brushed his hand over his hair smiling as he remembered Geet's sleeping face, she'd murmured and pouted in her sleep a few times, he grinned as he thought of her surprised face when he kissed her cheek, he himself didn't know he was going to do that, but seeing her this morning he simply pressed a kiss without much thoughts. He shook his head smiling, their morning couldn't start off better he thought as he finished off his shower.
"Geet" Maan called wrapping the towel around his waist.
"Ji?" she responded as she pinned on her scarf.
"I left my clothes, please pass them" he told her.
She responded back with a hum and opened up their side bag taking out a simple white shervani and approached the bathroom door.
"Your clothes" she rapped on the door and waited for him to open, Maan unlocked and opened it slightly, her hands brushed along his as she passed them to him, she took back her hands, the heat from his own hands only reminded her of his kiss causing her to blush once again, she turned away as he closed the door.
Maan came out dressed and found Geet praying her morning prayer, he joined her after rummaging the closet for another prayer mat.
Geet finished and fixed their bed, once done she took of her headscarf letting her hair fall down to dry, she walked over to the dressing table slipping on her jewelleries knowing there will be more guests coming along today, Maan had just finished and noticed her adorning herself with the jewelleries, he stood to his feet and folded away the prayer mat.
"Geet" he called placing the mat back in its place.
"Hmm?" she looked at his reflection in the mirror rather than turning around.
"A wife dresses for her husband right?" he asked walking towards her slowly.
She nodded with a frown marring her forehead unable to understand why he was asking her.
"Then I suggest you go for simple" he stood behind her resting his hands on her shoulder. "Your beauty reflects even more just in simple and natural"
She smiled and turned to him. "But this saree is simple, its only the border that has works on" she informed him looking down at her saree which she'd chosen to wear.
He shook his head and reached for her wrist, she watched as he slipped of her bangles taking of 4,5 of them off at a time once her arms were empty he picked up two gold bangles and slipped one in each arm.
"Instead of so many just wear these, you look beautiful like that" he told her softly.
"Api" Both turned their heads hearing Nadiya knocking on the door.
"Haan" Geet called back.
"Ammi aap dono ko bula rahe hai, unhoun ne kahan jaldi aiye khana kha ne ke liye" Nadiya informed.
"Hum abhi aaye" Geet responded back, Maan moved back a few steps and stood, she turned away and continued to finish off, like Maan had said she looked beautiful she didn't bother slipping on any earrings since her head was going to be covered with her pallu and her neck stayed bare. She pinned up her pallu on her head covering herself and joined Maan, both headed to the dining room together and joined everyone for breakfast.
"Nadiya tum utto, meri Geet ko mere paas baitne do" her father spoke.
"Abbu" Nadiya pouted, Geet smiled and stuck her tongue out childishly and sat down beside her father and Maan took his seat beside her.
"Aap ko koi takleef toh nahi huyi na?" Geet's mother asked Maan.
"Nahi ammi. Sab teek ta" he replied politely and had breakfast whilst conversing with everyone from time to time.
"Geet Maan ko lekar bahar kyun nahi jaate? Yahan toh ghoom sakte hai dono shehar mein jaake toh aisa nahi kar sakti" her mother told her as Geet helped her clear up the table.
"Aaj toh mehmaan aayenge na?" Geet turned to her mother.
"Shaam pe aayenge, aur paanch ya che baje tumhe khala ke ghar jaana hai unhe dekhne ke liye"
"hmm.. teek hai, hum puchte hain" Geet walked out the kitchen to look for Maan, she looked around the hall he wasn't there and checking their bedroom he wasn't there either.
"Yeh kahan chale gaye" she muttered to herself walking around her house looking for him
"Alia" she called her 2nd sister.
"Ji"
"Unhe dekha hai?" she asked.
"Kaun di?"
"Arre woh.. Unhe" Geet said once again, she wouldn't feel comfortable taking his name.
"Unhe kaun?" Alia teased.
"Alia you know very well"
"Sacchi main mujhe pata nahi" Alia shook her head with a smirk.
"Teek hai. Bhaar main jao tum" she turned away and continued to look for Maan. "Has he disappeared into thin air" she murmured. "I've checked the whole house and can't find him. Yeh bhi na? bata ke nahi ja sakte"
She stopped hearing commotion coming from outside, she frowned in curiousity and headed outside, her jaw dropped and her eyes widened seeing the sight before her.
