Salman is not afraid of non-holidays, he has released jai ho & ready on non-holidays. One is blockbuster & other is semi-hit.

Airlift was released on 4 day weekend style, 4th day was national holiday. Same happened with Baby, which couldn't get holiday benefit & it is not even clean hit.

jai ho was a big diasppointment and ready was success because of low budget 😆

What's the point in it? U said salman didn't come, i told u he did. Now u analysing their result. Jai ho is big disappointment which even housefull 3 isn't able to cross, same akshay. Ready was low budget success? Was it? It's 121 cr is still a chase figure for many big films, Airlift just crossed it by 2 cr.

Film's opening & distributor share from all circuits are considered for verdict. Some films open big, they get blockbuster / SH tag soon, later on they do less business, but revenue from initial draw is big so verdict varies.

Bold: thanks for explaining!😳
Interesting tidbit about the distributor share, i always wondered about that & how it factors in counting for the verdict tag. (Dont quote me on it, but i vaguely remember that Bwood Hungama or Koimoi gave another distributor share than the one you gave here).

& for verdict, i guess you mean India only. Because they never seem to factor in the sattelite rights or overseas BO. (In case of Neerja, i wish it released in Pakistan! @ least 5 cr lost there).

It still does not answer my question about the difference in budget reported by BOI & the movie producers.

& what about Bhaagi? how was the distributor share? It must have been lower than said Neerja, considering it released on twice the number of screens for about the same revenue in India?Maybe you have the numbers😳

& last part: how come this happens with years old movies? Like years old Khan movies & with no valid explanations too.

Neerja & Baaghi are Hit films, both had distributor share more than budget. Satellite & music or other sources of film's income doesn't reflect in Verdict of films.

Neerja's budget reported by makers isn't what Boi reports, they have their own source. It differs from film to film.

Regarding old khan films changing verdict, said it many times, when Boi gets new database update for old films, they update verdict.

It is nearly impossible to collect film's box office data from every theatre. They try as much accurate they can be.
