Think about this phrase. And how powerful it can be.

Is the phrase I Love You being abused in this day in age? Kids, or young adults from the age of maybe 10-19ish 'hook up' or date. And without knowing each other for barely 24 to 48 hours, they say oh X I LOVE YOU!

Many people believe, that the word love is not very powerful. While me. Well I think its oh so powerful. Maybe i think that way cos i grew up with bollywood lovey dovey movies😆😉.

What do you think? Do you think, kids or young adults are starting to abuse the word love , or was it never a very powerful word to you?

Leave you thoughts,
Priya

OMG! What a great topic. I so totally love you for starting it. 😆

Anyway, the phrase is definitely being abused a lot. 'I love you' is something that should be said when one truly means it. Throwing around the word several times dilutes the meaning. Too many people use the word without any real meaning behind it, simply for the sake of saying it.

However, at the same time 'I love you' is not being used often enough either. It is not a phrase reserved for romantic relationships. There are friends and family who play such an integral part in our lives by caring for us and looking out for us. It would not hurt if we said a well meaning 'I love you' to our friends and family.

Perhaps abuse of the word would reduce if we told it to people who actually mean something rather than trying to hook up with someone or get selfish needs fulfilled.

The young kids who are between the age group 15-19 often mistake crush or arrtraction as love.one reason for this misconception is their Innocence. As they feel for someone for the first time, its quite confusing for them to give name for that feel and end up thinking it to be love.It takes some time for them to understand in depth the meaning of love.

As they feel for someone for the first time, its quite confusing for them to give name for that feel and end up thinking it to be love.It takes some time for them to understand in depth the meaning of love. May be with time , when they reach certain age ,they can differentiate and give proprer name for what they feel for that person. Another reason can be immaturity. By watching the Movies where they show hero and heroines singing and dancing around the bushes and the trees, they get inspired and feel like potraying the same in their real life. So most of these heavy dialogues like I love you are mere inspirations from the movies. They want to prove their friends they are no less those reel life heroes. When these youngsters find their fellow calssmates or pals with their mates , they wish for the same and in hurry they try to find a gal/guy immediately to propose thier love(?) so that they too can start their innings of dating around.Sometimes these steps taken by immaturity an innocence may lead in to serious relation ship after few years. After seeing each other from long time there will be better understanding between the couple and may really turn in to love.

If the main intention is to fool around in the name of love, there is no age bar for that. Love is abused by all age groups. It is not limited to only youngsters.
In this materialistic world how many really do care for love? How many really do understand what love is?

I will not blame any particular age group.Everybody is attracted to some one and with time it will bloom in to love 😊

Speaking of Bollywood, I feel it's abused most in Hindi films. The guy sees the gal sitting in a bus and he falls in love (most probably in 1942: A Love Story), the guy sees the photo of the gal and the next second he says he's in love (Coolie No.1). 😕 These are just two examples, you'll find plenty of others.
