Independence Day - Resurgance had a low first weekend collections under 15 crore nett. The film fared a little better in South but generally the collections were low. The daily weekend business of Independence Day - Resurgance is as follows
Friday - 4,00,00,000
Saturday - 5,00,00,000
Sunday - 5,50,00,000
Total - 14,50,00,000
The film has turned out to be a bit of a disaster in its home market US / Canada and compared to that the India collections are not bad. Independence Day released in August 1996 was a Super Hit in India with business of 6.50 crore nett which equates to around 50 crore nett today.
