I would love to read more such incoherent post and please, do continue with your rambling more often. This is sheer brilliance. I seriously could not pick any particular bit as my favorite as I loved the whole of it
Time.
The major villain in the ShraMan story apart from Ramnath, Kamini, and Shravan and Sumo themselves😃If there was ever an episode which illustrated how time can trump everything, play tricks with us, and make puppets of us all, it was yesterday's episode.👏Cannot appreciate the writers enough for the "What If" scenario delineated in yesterday's episode. Shravan revisiting the accident and rewinding the moments leading up to it, and wishing he had done things a little differently. That was so evocative, philosophical, and even relatable to many of us. How many of us look back at what transpired in the past and wish of having done things a little differently, in a way that could've made our lives, and that of our loved ones better? Kudos to the writers for illustrating an important truth of life so beautifully.👏And this is not the first time that time has played its hand in the ShraMan story.Remember, they had to wait for ten years to start their acquaintance again, albeit on a bitter note, because of Suman not standing up for Shravan at a very crucial time in his life- which to a large extent has made him what he is today. The fact that time has its caprices was illustrated so beautifully in the proposal episode as well- the crucial moment when Shravan comes to propose to Suman, everything goes topsy-turvy, leading to a course of events they wouldn't have anticipated in their wildest dreams.Suman herself points this out so beautifully after her breakdown following the confrontation episode- "Humare hii saath aisa kyun hota hai?". After a few episodes, when she tries in vain to persuade Shravan, she then decides to leave things to their natural course and wait for time to do its magic. She keeps all the things related to her friend in her sandook, hoping that the memories of a shared past and a sweet childhood will bring them again together. But how was she to know that time would play puppeteer again- engineer a course of events that would bring her and Shravan again in the most trying of circumstances? Not to forget, time had been particularly cruel to her that week- taking away her life's dream, threatening to destroy all that she had carefully built over four years. To be dealt a hard hand again by time- disability, which implies the denial of her independence, which is integral to her identity- is perhaps the hardest hit that you can imagine for a person like Suman.😭My heart goes out to Suman, the way time relentlessly chases after her and gives her one blow after the other. But chin up, sweetie- because a remnant of the past, your childhood friend, who is now determined to be entrenched in the present, and become a part of your future, is with you. He'll stand by you during all storms and all the troubles that time lays at your door.😊I part with a quote from one of my favorite movies, Neram ("Time"), a Malayalam-Tamil bilingual. Just like Suman, a lot of shitty things happen to the protagonist in a single day, threatening to destroy everything he cherishes. But then the tide turns, and everything is resolved in a stunning and unexpected conclusion. He then lays down a very essential truth of life- "the good thing about bad times is that it always comes to an end". 😃How very true. I hope Suman understands this- that just like this bad time in her life was unexpected, it might just about usher in a course of events that will change her destiny and Shravan's too. So, I am waiting for the coming week to see how time plays healer for ShraMan after being a villain for them all this while. Are you?😉Sorry for the rambling, incoherent post, and thanks if you had the patience to read till the end. Please post your thoughts, I'll get back at the end of the day. Have tonnes of tests to study for!😭
