Blake Lively, Priyanka Chopra & 5 Other Actresses Approached For She-Ra Movie

If you, just like me, grew up in the 80s, then you would probably have been a fan of the animated series He-Man and the Masters of the Universe and also its spin-off show She-Ra: Princess of Power.

We already know that He-Man will get a cinematic reboot sometime in 2018 (there was already a movie released in 1987 starring Dolph Lundgren titled "Masters of the Universe") with Jon M. Chu in the director's seat.

Recently, in an interview with Deadline, Chu confirmed plans for a She-Ra movie as well.

"Yes, it's happening. I am currently in a very initial phase of script writing process, and if everything goes as we planned, then we will also see a He-Man & She-Ra cross-over movie by 2021-22."

He also provided some insight towards who would be playing the coveted role.

"We are looking at few caucasian actresses as well women of color to play She-Ra, and we have started to approach few actresses just to get a confirmation on Dates because we are planning to film She-Ra and He-Man simultaneously, their release dates won't be far apart."

Below are the seven actresses that have been approached to play She-Ra, as reported by Comic Books Galaxy.

1) Amber Heard

The actress who has recently been grabbing the headlines due to her separation from Johnny Depp can be seen in the highly-anticipated Justice League movie playing the role of Mera, the wife of Aquaman.

2) Blake Lively

Mostly known for her role as Serena van der Woodsen in TV show Gossip Girl, she will be appearing in the shark-attack film The Shallows, which is due to be released in Malaysian cinemas next month.

3) Tabrett Bethel

The Australian, best known for TV show Legend of the Seeker, is a former cheerleader in her country's National Rugby League.

4) Jessica Biel

This seasoned actress has appeared in a host of films and TV shows such as 7th Heaven, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Blade: Trinity, and The A-Team.

5) Lizzy Caplan

Currently can be seen on TV show Masters of Sex, Caplan is also famed for appearing in the film Mean Girls playing the character Janis.

6) Priyanka Chopra

7) Paula Patton
