Composer Aadesh Srivastava has got quite a few Hollywood offers and is excited about the fact that his dream of going global is finally coming true. Recently, Aadesh was in Toronto to help rapper Wyclef Jean produce an album for jazz singer Norah Jones and R&B exponent Shakira. Aadesh says, "I incorporated some rhythms in one of Norah Jones' song which she was recording for Wyclef Jean. I also sang a few alaps in Shakira's new track King and Queen."

The composer, who has a flair for original compositions, also sang a few tracks with Wyclef Jean and Shakira at the 1X1 festival in Toronto and said he got a standing ovation after he concluded. "He (Wyclef Jean) is a crazy performer. I would call him phenomenal and he is full of energy and enthusiasm," says the music director.

Aadesh said that unlike Bollywood, musicians in Hollywood get a lot of respect. "Here in Bollywood, a musician neither gets money nor respect. I would love to work there," says the composer. Aadesh is also composing for a Hollywood production titled Golden Monkey, which is the next venture for Mark Canton and Gianni Nunnari after their international blockbuster 300. "I have composed a very different kind of music for the movie. It's unique because I have never done something like this before. The music is similar to opera and has a lot of violin symphony," he says.

The desi composer is also coming up with his album titled Hollywood Meets Bollywood on December 4 in which his fans might get to hear some rapping by Wyclef Jean. Aadesh could not help admiring Norah Jones and Shakira. He said he was so touched by their professionalism that now he too has decided to follow their footsteps. "Shakira is a very down-to-earth person. Maybe because she is an international star, she knows how to deal with people and get her work done," says the composer. When asked about Norah and whether she has any inclination to come to India, Aadesh says, "No way. She is not interested. Other than being Ravi Shankar's daughter, she has no inclination to come to India. After I recorded my sound for her songs, she went to a different studio to record her voice, I think it proves that she is a perfectionist."

Aadesh added that soon Bollywood music directors will hate him, as he is coming up with an organisation that will prohibit plagiarism, which according to him is rampant in the music industry. He has already spoken to a few people in the US and they have been very positive. "American musicians are not very happy with our Indian music composers. They say a lot of Hindi songs are a rip-off of their compositions, which has been used without their consent. I have also spoken to quite a few people in Bollywood and they too have given me the green signal. At least, I will have Javed saheb Shankar Mahadevan, Ranjit Maroo to help me deal with it," he adds.

He said that piracy is a necessary evil and that without the Internet it will be difficult for musicians to get quick popularity. Aadesh is thinking of releasing a single online so that his fans can download it from the net before he releases the album in December.

Forgetting everything he did in VOI or the other show where he was the mentor, I would say this is one MD who actually help out the contestants most. Even after C-2007 he was the one who gave maximum tracks to the contestants. I am sure it will be the same here at VOI too.

And most important he churns out some really good music.

yep..its is heartening to see him do good for budding talent and also now taking Bollywood music to International level. I totally support him on piracy. Its so true that lot of these music directors who have become so famous in Bollywood have simply copied from the West but they keep talking of our amazing music tradition. They have made mockery of our immense talents.
