CH 14 : Louder Than Words

Rey stopped outside the girls cottage along with taani and at the same time, three girls came put of the cottage and look at them. The girls look at each other then at taani and rey, teasing flint visible in their eyes.

"Hey! Boyfriends are not allowed." One of the girls, said to taani who grew conscious under their watch. She lifted her eye lashes and her mesmerizing gaze met his intense ones. A shiver ran down her spine, she was beginning to lose herself in those hazel orbs.

"There is nothing like that." Breaking the eye contact, she turned to the girls and told them. She doesn't want him to misunderstand her, again.

"If there is nothing like that, then why are you hiding?" Another girl spoke.

"You guys are misunderstanding it." Taani said to them, fidgeting with her fingers nervously. She could feel his gaze on herself, which made her nervous further more.

"Toh fir chup chup kar baatein kyun? Sparks toh hai..Clear chemistry dikhti hai tum dono ke beech mein." The third one spoke, making the other girls giggle.

"You both look good together, more than good. Perfect together." The first girl spoke and the girls walked away from there, leaving them alone.

Rey, who was observing her through out, was surprised at how comfortable he was, to call her boyfriend. He wonder why didn't he correct the girls for even once? He let them assume, he was her boyfriend. Why? is it because he himself liked the thought of him being her boyfriend?

"Seriously, dude, you have gone crazy. The girl standing right next to you, is driving you crazy without even doing anything to you." His inner conscious voice said to him, putting his thoughts about her, on hold.

"I will get my cell phone." Taani's voice brought him back into reality. Rey turned to her and gave a small response in response before she walked inside the girls cottage where as he waited outside, not so patiently though.

After some minutes, taani come out of the girls cottage with her cell phone. She was surprised to see him still waiting for her.

"Lets go." She mumbled softly. Rey passed a small smile to her and both walked away from there.

"So, do you think our collage will win?" Rey asked her, starting the conversation since the silence was starting to eat him up from inside. He was missing the old bubbly, chirpy talkative taani, who used to keep him entertain with her weird yet cute talks.

"Yea! This time result will be 100%. All the performances were amazing, you guys will win for sure." Taani smiled as she answered him. Rey returned the smile, her words had soothings affect on him, always has but he was too ignorant to recognize before.

"There is still time in announcement of winners, why don't we go and grab something to eat? You haven't eaten anything since morning-" Rey suggested her, surprising her yet again with his care toward. His gestures speaks louder than words, yet she chose not to believe them and mislead herself again.

"No. Thats alright-" She denied politely and at the same time, her stomach growl which said otherwise. Her cheeks warmed up in embarrassment, Rey let out a low chuckle. He grabbed her hand and started walking toward food counter while she wondered what happened to him today, why he was showing so much concern toward her?
