Yeh Hai Mohabbatein. The show I accidentally ended up watching when I was stuck with the Channel Star Plus. It was the show that had been hooked the very first episode I watched. The new concept, the realism in the story concerning infidelity and infertility, the real emotions of all the characters, no weeping FL, and complex relationships shown so beautifully. This was the show I raved about taking back my own friends as this was the channel and industry I also made fun of. However this story just won me over as it was different from the dramatic and annoying shows that we got to see, it was just what Indian TV needed according to me. The show had all the elements to become a huge hit and that's what happened. YHM became a record breaking show at 11pm yet keeping it's story and characters in tact. This was a beautiful story of three people who deserved each other and it was their journey that kept many people like myself hooked onto this show. Not only the three leads, but all the other characters including the Shagun back then had feelings that were real and one could understand. My question is what happened and why?
What happened to this show that it went from those maturely handled tracks to the nonsense that we see on screen now? Why did the makers completely revamp this show after the slot change without giving the original essence of YHM a chance? How did this show go from the accident track that I rewatched a few days back where everyone's emotions and action right from Raman & Ishita, the Iyer and Bhalla families, and to some extent even Shagun's could be understood and related to this mess of a show they have made where we can't understand anything or anyone anymore?
And now this show is no longer what it was, I just wish to know what is left in this show that those who watch it still tune in to see what would happen?
Is it merely the chemistry or do you still have hopes that like all "dead"characters from YHM, the show itself will come back from the dead anytime soon?
Are there still some people here who have expectations from the makers to show a glimpse of a mature story or has everyone given in to the chemistry of the leads where the compromise with story quality doesn't matter?
