The significance of that Mirror..

It took a while for to figure out where did that mirror come from(courtesy..my cousin's wedding😆), but now I realised that there is typical tradition in Muslim weddings called "Aarsi Mussaf" (aarsi means mirror in Persian)
So, it usually happens in arranged marriages where the bridegroom hasn't seen bride's face ever and he sees her face for the first time in that Mirror. Thapki-Bihaan's was an arranged one too..😆

They tweaked it bit though- the cloth is not put over the mirror but over the heads of bridegroom & bride and the mirror is held between them. But still, it's a very beautiful tradition. If the idea is the same one then it was very thoughtful and creative from the writers side (kabhie kabhie dimagh chalta inka..😆).
I would have forgiven them for all the previous crap they have shown but I am not that mahan. So instead a tiny-weeny bit of appreciation for them just for this Mirror scene. It was really beautiful.👏

Just wanted to share this tradition with you guys..
PS. Can somebody make a proper gif..because I am very bad at this..😕
PPS. Why after an year of cribbing, fighting & BJKTs, I am still shipping this couple is meri kalpana se pare..shayad mera hi screw kuch dhilla hai..😆

I agree with your PPS 🤣
Haan I have read about the tradition, it is indeed very meaningful. And the scene was beautifully shot. With diyas all around and the miror just reflecting off their radiant faces. They looked made for each other when Bihan just stood behind her and uttered those words staring at the mirror "humari dulhan tum hi thi, tum hi ho ,,,aur tum hi rahoge" . The guys who have theses artistic ideas are so awesome. Do they have new art team now? I dont know from Thapki's apology they are giving importance to the physical beauty of the scenes too

I had read about this tradition before. There is a similar tradition in certain portions of hindu's where the groom sees the bride for the first time in a large plate/bowl filled with water. It was a very beautifully shot scene. 😊
I hope tomorrow will be the end of the saccharine sweet romance and some drama will kick in. 😆
