In my last post I wrote something about holy trinity of Hindu mythology. This post is about Goddesses Swarswati and Goddesses Lakshmi. I'm quoting the writer.

-Swarswati is Goddesses as embodiment of knowledge. She is the world that informs and inspires. She wears no jewels or cosmetic and drapes here self in a plain white dire it's no desire to allure. She must be sought out. Difficult to acquire yet eternally faithful, she is the container of all answers.

-Bejewelled and dressed in red, seated on a lotus, holding a pot overflowing with grain and gold, Lakshmi is the Goddess embodying pleasure, prosperity and power that culture harvests out of nature. She is enchanting and whimsical. Holding on to her is a constant struggle.

Knowledge is a faithful wife. Swarswati is difficult to acquire, but once she comes into a person's life she never leaves. Wealth, on the other hand, is a demanding wife. Lakshmi comes and goes as she pleases and one must constantly strive to keep her coming. Knowledge does not outlive death. Wealth does. Distribution of knowledge only enhances it. Distribution of wealth depletes it.

Thank you for the post, Sumedha. Maa Saraswati was revered more in the previous Yugas, but now we pray to Maa Lakshmi, and this is why were are never satisfied. Because wealth comes and goes, but once you acquire knowledge, you are forever happy. Thanks again!

Thank you.
I was just wondering if knowledge lives for ever then why it so happens that we forget things (studied) if we don't keep revising them and what about amnesia ?
