CH 10 : Possessive Little Brother
"Di, take care of yourself, don't go anywhere alone and be with bhai." Ronak said to his sister who rolled her eyes at his melodramatic-ness. She looked over his shoulder and found all the dance team members looking at them with amusement.
"I am not a kid, Ronak." Taani told her younger brother.
"I am just worried for you, di. What will i do if you get lost in that strange place?" Ronak replied back to her, with a grin.
"Now give me a hug, i am gonna miss you alot." Rona pulled his sister in bone crushing hug.
"Ronak! You are crushing me. And i am going just for 4 four days." Taani gasped for air, Ronak pouted in response, he broke the hug and look at her. Taani shook her head at his antics.
"But i am going to miss you alot."
"I will miss you too, and i promise, after dance camp, we will spend lots of time together." Taani promised him, earning a nod from him.
"Oh god! If you are done with your family drama, can we leave? Such a drama queen you are-" Vishakha's taunting voice came from behind. Taani frowned, she couldn't understand the reason behind vishakha's hatred toward her.
"Hey! Watch your tone when you talk to my sister. I won't tolerate it-" Ronak snapped at vishakha rudely, there is one thing he can never tolerate, someone disrespecting his sister. He was overly possessive and protective for her.
"Dude-" Vishakha started off, but Ronak cut her off in the middle.
"Don't dude me, Miss, and listen to me carefully. I don't care what problem you have with my sister, but keep to yourself only. It won't be good for you if i ever saw you misbehaving with my sister." Ronak warned her, looking straight in to her eyes, challenging her to her to against his words.
"Ron, calm down. Its not how you talk to girls-" Taani scolded her brother.
"I know that, di, but i also won't tolerate a word against you." Ronak replied to her. Taani shook her head, knowing her over protective little brother, who turns into an angry lion when it comes to her.
"Calm down, tiger. Anger is not good for health, you know." Rey stepped forward and kept his hand on ronak's shoulder.
"Says the one who himself is famously known as angry young man." Ronak smirked at him as he replied to Rey. He raised his one eye brow at him while Rey smiled at him, he wonder what will ronak do if he come to know how much he had hurt his sister, in most brutal way. He not only rejected her, but questioned her character, said the things, he shouldn't have.
"Bhai, take care of my sister, and if i got to you know any of your friends has hurt her, trust me, I won't leave them." Ronak said to him while glancing at vishakha, who narrowed her eyes hearing him.
"She is my sister too." Swayum reminded him.
"And you tends to forget that when you are with your friends, so i am just reminding you, bhai." Ronak retorted back, Swayum glared at him and at that time, taani stepped forward, stopping the brothers to fight.
"Ron, now you go home. I will call you once we will reach there." Taani assured him, Ronak nodded. He helped taani with her luggage then left from there for home. All sat inside the bus, swayum went to sit with sharon where as taani was sitting alone.
Rey was hesitated, but then took a seat beside her. Taani turned her head to him, her eyes widen in surprise seeing him there.
"Hey." He gave a small smile to her, which she returned with an awkward one.
"I didn't knew the prankster Ronak can an angry young man as well. He is possessive about you, isn't he?" Rey asked her, starting the conversation.
"Yea! He is possessive about me. Though he is my little brother, but he acts like big brother." Taani answered him, her tone was low and polite. Rey could feel her hesitation, and to an extent, he could understand her behavior around him, after all he is the one, who had insulted her, not once but twice.
"Even swayum is over possessive bhai at that." Rey chuckled softly, taani smiled, agreeing with him.
"Whole family is over possessive about me, since i am the only girl child in the family and they love to pamper and spoil me with their love." Taani said to him, remembering her family members, brought a wide smile on her face. Rey felt his lips curving into a smile, her happiness made him smile.
These days, its rare to see her smile, a genuine smile to be precise. And somewhere, he was responsible for it. He was the reason, she stopped smiling and it made him feel not less than any criminal. Over past few days, he had realized how cruel he was to her when he rejected her. When he didn't loved her, then he could have denied nicely, but what he did, was uncalled for.
He had said many things to her, which were unforgivable. Blame his anger, in which he forgets everything and do things, which he regret later. And rejecting her so harshly and rudely, was one of them.
