Serious answer to this is that they were expecting a battle, and in such a scenario, women did not accompany the men. Granted that Lakshman here suspected that the enemy had really been vanquished or was playing a trick, but chances were that they were still active, so it was just as unsafe to take Sita w/ him as much as leave her alone there

But in this serial, since Sita wields a bow and once accurately shot a vulture forcing it to let go of the kid that they were taking home, it would be fine for Sita to accompany Lakshman 😆

Deer Mareech

At the gates of Yamalok, Yamaraj was waiting for the newest entrants. Jatayu and Mareech were in line. Inside, Dasharath & the deer who died at the same time he did were waiting.

After Jatayu and Mareech entered, Dasharath welcomed Jatayu and thanked him for everything they did for his sons & bahu. Mareech was feeling lonely, so he decided to chat w/ the deer.

The deer, who died in Sita's lap and was given a due funeral by SiRa, however, was in no mood to talk. Mareech tried to reason w/ him

M: Deer, this isn't something I wanted to do, but I was forced to. You know Ravan...

D: And you know Rama. How you were sent away 300+ yojanas, or whatever, to where you last were. Why couldn't you have, in that deer vesh, taken refuge w/ Devi Sita? She was the most loving creature I ever encountered - in fact, I was blessed to die in her lap. Now I'm not gonna undo that by befriending a paapi like you

M: Please forgive me. I'll do anything

D: Anything?

M: Yeah, anything

D: Okay, you took the form of a golden deer to deceive Sita. Now, you must fulfill what she wanted when she wanted you. She wanted a golden deer as a pet to take back to her family. You have to be that pet, and be loyal to her to the end of your life. Then and only then will I befriend you. Next time around

M: But that deer was mayavi

D: But my body here is not. You can take that body, since I'm not gonna be reborn, since I died in Sita's lap. Embellish it, so that it becomes as golden as the one Rama chased. And then go and wait in the Pushpak, so that you can join them after Rama gets on it.

M: But how will they know what I am up to? Can I converse w/ them at least telepathically?

Dasharath joins in

D: Yeah, you can. I bless you accordingly

In the meantime, Ravan had landed at Lanka w/ Sita, and both had gotten off the Pushpak. Mareech took the deer form and returned there.

Cue to the end of the war, when it's time for RLS and everybody to return to Ayodhya. Sita too mounts the chariot and sees Mareech, who approaches her nervously. But this time, Sita is no longer enamored by the deer.

Mareech knows that he's guilty of betraying Sita, and therefore approaches Lakshman and nuzzles his head against his knees. Lakshman, normally very stern, is now in a good mood, since they're on their way home, and so allows Mareech to lay his head on his lap.

M: Lakshman-ji, I am Mareech. Rama killed me, but I was sent back here as a real deer to atone for my sin in separating you both from Sita. Can you forgive me

L: I guess, since it's behind us. Besides, it was bhabi's dream to present you to our matas, so I'm happy to let bygones be bygones

Rama is happy to see this side of Lakshman and joins in

R: Yeah, Mareech, I guess your role was needed in killing Ravan. Now that you have atoned - including the years you spent meditating b4 I killed you, I am happy to let Sita's dream come true

S: Arya, I'm really not interested

M: Devi Sita, please. You did desire to present me b4 your family, and this time, I'm a real deer, not a mayavi one.

So Sita relented, and they continued to Ayodhya, where everybody was united.

After the ceremonies, after Lakshmila were united, Sita took Mareech to Urmila

S: Urmila, look at what I brought you

U: Di, thank you so much. But I thought that it was you who love it

M: I'll belong to whoever Devi Sita presents me to. However, I will only be around where Devi Sita is.

So Mareech lived w/ the Raghukul for 10,000 years. After that, one day, when Rama, on the basis of unrest in Ayodhya, asked Lakshman to take Sita to the forest & leave her there, Mareech, who overheard them, went to Urmila

M: Rajrani, Sita is being taken to the forest on the king's orders. You will still have Lakshman, but she'll have nobody. I'd like your permission to go w/ her. No point arguing that w/ Lakshman - he did object but Rama overruled him. Also, it was due to me that today, she's separated from her husband a second time. I want to be there to serve her & make her and her kids happy.

U (shocked): I guess you can go. She'll need you more than I will.

As Lakshman left in his chariot w/ Sita, Mareech chased them and jumped on the chariot.

S: Mareech, it's due to you that I'm being taken away from my husband, a second time. Don't you think you've done enough?

M (in tears): Devi, my life has been a living hell since that day. Instead of gaining moksha, I have been sent back in this form to atone. While your husband will have your entire family, you'll be all alone. I want to be w/ you, so that seeing your plight reminds me of what I did and makes every remaining day of my life a torture

S: Okay, you can come

Lakshman dropped them near Valmiki's ashram & left.

Some time later, Sita gave birth to KL. Shatrughan was on his way to battle Lavanasura, and met them on the way. He distributed sweets to celebrate the occasion to all, including Mareech.

As the years passed, KL grew up & played a lot w/ Mareech. On one occasion, they even boxed his ear - something noted in the ACK 'The Sons of Rama'.

Finally, the day came when KL sang the Ramayan to Rama's Ashwamedha Yagna sabha in Naimisharanya. At the end of it, Rama asked Sita to swear that she had always had faith in his prowess.

So Sita took the vow: If I've always had faith in my husband, then Ma Bhumi Devi, please take me in your sharan

However, the earth didn't open. Sita & everybody was shocked. She then cried out and wondered where she had gone wrong. Mareech helpfully intervened

M: Devi Sita, remember when I called out your name & Lakshman, and you didn't believe Lakshman that Rama couldn't be endangered? That's why

S: Oh, God. Okay, here's another oath: if my lord has always resided in my heart, let me enter his heart forever.

At this, everything froze, while Rama's chest was zipped open like a jacket, and a huge force pulled Sita into him. Mareech, not wanting to be separated from Sita, was quick on his feet, and took a leap. They entered, and KL too tried to follow, but Rama's heart zipped closed. Then everything got unfrozen.

KL (crying): We too wanna go where mom has gone

R: Putr, your mom was in my heart metaphorically, and has now entered physically. I had the prajas there as well - metaphorically, but thankfully, as far as physically goes, I won't have to put up w/ them. But while I can talk to your mom inside me, I need to talk to others as well, like you.

KL: We don't like you 😭

R: I don't blame you. Right now, I don't like myself either. But here's what we'll do. I'll give you kingdoms of your own, so that you won't have to live amidst the people who did this to you

Rama then turned them over to Kaushalya, who sent Luv to her maayka Kosala to become king. Kush went w/ Lakshman to a place where Lakshman built a city called Kushavati and crowned Kush there.

When Rama finally retired to Vaikunta, Sita came out and joined him. Mareech too came out and was liberated forever.

Wow, mind blowing. If you people pardon me for my creative liberty, here it goes. This is purely for fun and no intentions to hurt any one's feelings as even I am big devotee of Sita Ram.

Mareech goes with Sita to valmiki Ashram and will spend his time with her and kids. Sita was too happy to spend time with him as he wa sthe only bridge between her sasural & Ashram and only with whom she could discuss her husband and family. It was time and Lavkush tie the Ashwamedha horse and fought with Lakshman and injure him. This will enrage Ram and he will come directly to the war field to fight the warriors and will feel some attraction towards them and advise them to surrender the horse and accept his hierarchy as they can't fight him and he feel sympathy towards them.

hot headed Luv feels insulted and will taunt Ram so much that he will take up his Bow and start fighting but lose the battle. Later when realized that they are his own kids, he will be happy and will march to Ashram to meet his wife Sita. All this while Ram was unaware of the fact that Mareecha was staying with Sita. The moment he saw Mareecha next to Sita, all his happiness burst like a soap bubble and just a sigh escaped his mouth even before he could realize "not again sitae"

The two people who understood his words went pale to ash white and others were wondering what did Ram meant by those words.

Now it was Sita's turn to say those words "Not again Raghunandan" and she prayed her mother Vasundara to give shelter in her and immediately the earth broke open and took Sita into her embrace and sealed the surface once again.

The shocked kids ask Mareech for the meaning of the words exchanged by their parents and the subsequent earthquake which swallowed their mother.

Mareech says "Yet again, its me who caused this to Sita mata" and die with heart attack which leaves the kids bewildered and asked Ram & Lakshman to move fast as they don't want to lose some more people.

Dasi Sita

After Sita is brought to Lanka, she's put in chains and kept in the middle of the open courtyard in the heat, w/o food water or sleep on Ravan's orders.

Shurpi is furious at Ravan overruling her on killing him

S: Bhaiya, if she's my dasi, why did you stop me from killing him?

R: I want her to lose control of herself, which she will after hours of heat, no food or water or sleep

S: But she's my dasi. Since when do dasis go thru this? How will she work if she is famished?

R: Okay, release her and have her work on your room

So Sita was released and ordered to work on Shurpis room. It was to start w/ the cleaning - the jhadu pocha, and then to organizing Shurpi's cupboards and other items.

Sita went in and opened the doors. In answer to her prayers, Vayu blew in a whole bunch of dust, grime and other debris. Sita was overjoyed, and collected shrubs, plants, snails, and other vegetation & wildlife from outside. She then took out Shurpi's saris, and distributed them among the silkworms

Shurpi came back & was furious to see her room in such a mess

S: Sita!!! 😡

V: Shurpi, you forget - I'm the daughter of the earth. So all these things in your room - the dirt, grime, snails, caterpillars, worms, snakes, etc are a part of her, a part of nature. Nowhere is their absence a necessity for cleanliness. So this is how I've cleaned your rooms

S: And my saris?

V: This silk belongs to those silkworms. I know you & your family is used to taking what isn't yours. But that's not the way it works. The silk belongs to the silkworms, and is just used to protect them from the heat & cold. They're not meant for saris

S: So what are you wearing?

V: First of all, they're made of cotton, and second, they were given to me from Mata Anusuya, who got it from her tapasya. So no, it ain't the same thing.

S: Sita, you're fired

So Sita was led back in chains to the center of the courtyard.

Shurpi then went to Kaikesi and told her what Sita had done. Mandodari too went to her and complained that this was likely to be Ravan's undoing.

After listening to both of them, Kaikesi came to a conclusion

K: I have a solution that should work

M: What is it?

K: Shurpi, Sita is now relieved from being a dasi

M: Mata, that's a good start. What next?

K: She is the purest of the pure. The Tridevs can't kill whoever she protects. Therefore...

S: Therefore?

K: I must convince Ravan to marry her

Just then Vibheeshan walked in, while Mandodari fainted. Vibheeshan had her recover, and they both decided to try and prevent Kaikesi from going that route.

V: Mata, their astrological fortunes don't match at all.

K: We have the planets in our control, and they'll do what we want

V: That's not the point. If we configure them so that they are good for Ravan, then Sita will die and the consequences will be severe. If we arrange them so that they are good for Sita, then it will mean the end of not just Ravan, but all of us as well. These 2 have mutually exclusive fortunes. Please postpone your decision

K: Okay, then lets leave Sita in chains for now, until we assign her to a different task
