CH 7 : Future Plannings

Rey was pacing in rehearsal hall, in morning, taani has again received a gift, this time, a greeting card. And it had left him in anger, like always. He never understand, why is he so over protective of taani? He never had the answer, at first, he thought because she is swayum's sister, but now days, even this felt like just a mere excuse.

"I am sure, its shivam. He is doing all this to impress taani." He thought to himself. The mere mention of shivam left a bitter feeling in him, shivam has caused so much damage to his friends and his next target is taani, though he claimed to love her, but Rey knew him better. He knew shivam might genuinely like her, but his intentions can't be trusted. Rey doesn't want to take any risk by taking shivam grandly this time, specially in case of taani, that girl brought a whole different side in him, a protective and possessive side which he never felt for anyone before. The need to protect her from any kind of harm, from any kind of pain, was increasing with time.

"Hey, Rey." His trance was broken when he heard his another best friend, sharon's voice. He waved at her as she came and stand near him. Sharon was another case, she had been avoiding him these days which made him wonder what happened to her.

"Where are the other team members? Have you decided in which dance category, you will be participating?" Sharon asked him, starting the conversation.

"Lyrical hip hop. And you?"

"Hip hop." Sharon replied with a small smile then turned to other side, she was lost in her own thoughts. Rey was amused, this was the longest conversation they had in last two weeks.

"Sharon, is everything alright?" Rey asked her, concernedly. Sharon gave a small nod to him, guilt crept up in her heart, she is hiding something from him, for the first time and it wasn't a best feeling.

"Hello, guys!" The whole gang entered the rehearsal hall and greeted them, taking it as a chance, sharon slipped away from there and went to girl before Rey could ask something else. Rey shook his head, thinking her behavior to be because of her mood swings, he didn't paid much attention to it and went to swayum.

"Dude, what happen?"

"Rey, i have to go and pick taani from dad's office, but i have to complete report with sharon also, i wonder how will she reach home now? She doesn't even know way to home from office properly." Swayum voiced out his worry. Since his dad was in town for a day, taani went to meet him as he will be leaving for jodhpur in some time and she wanted to spend some time with her father. It was longest taani was away from the family and he knew how much she miss them, specially their father. After all, she is rishi shekhawat's princess.

"If you don't have any problem, i can go to pick her up." He volunteered.

"Why will i have any problem, Rey? It will be a great help if you go-" Swayum smiled at his best friend who returned the smile and went away from there.

Rey hoped in his car and drove away to shekhawat industries. Surprisingly, he was looking forward to meet her. The last he saw her, was in the morning when they were in canteen along with whole gang, and now, it was evening.

Reaching Shekhawat industries and he ringed taani, telling her to come down in parking area, where he was waiting for her. He was leaning against his car, when a calm breeze caress his face, indicating him about her arrival. He turned his head and look at her, dressed in simple tee & denims, she was was coming toward him.

He opened the door of passenger seat side door for her, a surprised taani sat inside. She was surprised when she got to know, he had come to pick her, but then realize it must be her brother who had sent him. These days, she had been keeping her distance from him as she promised herself, but the more the go away from him, the more she is spending time with him due to one or another reason which has started to take toll on her heart. Once again, she was finding herself getting lost in him. She was falling for his every gesture all over again. Making her realize, her heart just beats for him.

"Stop! Taani, you should stop thinking about him when you know, you are not the one he would ever like let alone love." Her inner conscious reminded her, putting a full stop on her thoughts which were roaming around him.

"Where do you wanna go? Home or college?" Rey asked her as he sat inside, on he driver seat and started the engine.

"Home." She mumbled softly. Rey hummed in response and drove away to her home. The comfortable silence settled between them, taani was looking out of the window, lost in her thoughts. She doesn't know where her life was heading to, but she was trying her best to move on, instead of crying over her love life, she was focusing on her career. After college, she wanted to join her father's company and today, she had met her father and talk to him regarding her future plans. Her father was more than happy to hear about his daughter wanting to join their company.

Rishi knew about his elder son, swayum's future plans. He knew he won't be joining family business thus, he was happy when his daughter told him about her plans of joining their family business. And at that moment itself, Rishi decided, he himself will train his daughter, to be a perfect business woman.

Taani was happy with the little progress in her life, very soon, she will be starting her training with her father and she was quite excited for that. Her father was best in his field and she wants to be like him.

"So, did you receive any other gifts after the greeting card?" Rey asked her, breaking her chain of thought. Rey tried hard not to sound curious and to an extent, he was successful too.

"I found a chocolate on my desk this morning." Taani told him honestly, as naive as she was, she could never hide anything from him. Her heart never allowed her to do so. The feelings she has for him, are her biggest weakness and strength as well. No matter how hard she try, she always end up hurting herself in process of trying to protect him, from her feelings for him.

"And what you did with that chocolate?" Rey questioned her, glancing at her as she grew nervous. How could she tell him that, chocolates are her weakness and she doesn't like wasting them.

"I ate." She whispered, fidgeting with her fingers nervously.

"What? Have you gone mad? Why didn't you threw it away? That person could have mixed something in chocolate, do you know, how dangerous it could have been?" The protective side kicked in and he lashed out at her, causing her to whimper. She feels scared of his anger and it was no hidden fact.

"-I don't like wasting chocolates." She murmured softly, biting her lower lip, hoping he won't scold her again.

Rey look at her, amused hearing her explanation. He bit his lower lip to stop the smile that was forming up. She is so cute. Rey thought to himself, glancing at taani who looked guilty yet adorable with a cute pout. He shook his head, to get away from her thoughts that had been ruling his mind and somewhere heart too. Rey parked the car outside her home and turned to her. He cursed under his breath, seeing tears in those beautiful brown orbs.

"Stop crying and listen to me carefully." He spoke and surprisingly, his voice came out soft as feather. Taani gave a small nod in response.

"You will not accept any gift given to you by that secret admirer. He can be dangerous, we don't know anything about him. He can harm you." Rey told her, taani was listening to him carefully and her innocent heart, once again fell in love with him. Taani nodded her head positively.

"Good. Now go home and take some rest." Rey told her, giving her a small smile.

"Bye." She wanted to return the smile and she did, his simple smile has that affect on her. It can make her smile even in a painful situation. She opened the door and walked toward her home but she could feel his gaze on her, it took her everything to not to turn around and see him.

Rey was watching her, once she walked inside the house safely, he started the engine and drove away from there to his home.
