Sita to Rama's rescueAfter Mareech's shrieks worried Sita, she approached Lakshman and demanded that he go to Rama's rescue
V: Lakshman, did you hear that? Raghunandan is in trouble, needs help
L: Bhabi, that's not him.
V: It is him. How can you say it's not him? Don't you recognize his voice?
L: I know him since we were born. That's just not his voice - I'd recognize it anywhere.
V: It's definitely him, and he is in trouble
L: No, he isn't. You've seen him destroy all the rakshashas that came up against us. He's incapable of losing any battle. This is a mayavi trick
V: Jatayu did warn us about Ravan. So that must be his trick to get Rama in trouble
L: Bhabi, if Ravan were to attack Rama, he'd have done it by now. He'd not have lured him away w/ that mayavi deer. His plan seems to be to first draw him away, and then get you to send me away, hence this subterfuge. Ravan's target here is not Ram bhaiya, but you!!!
V: Regardless, I insist that you go
L: Sorry, bhabi, but I have his orders that I don't leave your side.
V: I too give you an order - that you go to his rescue
L: Bhabi, why are you forcing me to disobey either him or you? You know the kananks that will attach to my name
Sita then gets infuriated and picks up Lakshman's bow, and then his arrows. She then walks out of the hut. Lakshman follows her
L: Bhabi, thanks. You've given me the idea of how I avoid disobeying either of you
V: I don't care. I'm out to save Raghunandan
L: But that's what, bhabi. He told me not to leave your side, and you told me to go to him. So if you go to rescue him, then I too can come and obey you, and I don't disobey him either. So let's go together
V: Okay. Do you want your bow?
L: No, bhabi, like I said, nobody can defeat him. But since you're so insistent, you can play w/ my bow once we're w/ him. Just explain that to Urmi when she wakes up and finds your fingerprints on my bow, will you?
V: Okay, but let's go to Rama first.
The 2 of them then run and approach the spot where Rama is talking to Mareech. Mareech sees them and is relieved
M: Devi Sita, I'm so happy to see that you are safe
V: Why, what happened?
M: Only Lakshman was supposed to come, leaving you alone, and then Ravan was supposed to abduct you
L: If that was the case, why did you call Sita's name in addition to mine? Since you did, she too came here to save him
Rama looks askance at Sita
R: Sitae, did you really believe that I was in danger?
Lakshman stares at Sita w/ a smirk 😈
V: Arya, yeah, I heard that cry but thought that you were in danger
R: You thought that that was my voice?
M: Am I good, or am I good? Devi Sita, you've made me so happy letting me know that you think of my voice as Ram's voice i.e. me as Rama, so what could be more gratifying? I die happy
Saying this, Mareech dies
V: Arya, did that deer hurt you?
R: Sitae, this - Mareech - was that deer.
L: It's such a shame. We could have taken him to Ayodhya after the vanvas
In the meantime, Akampana is having a conversation w/ Ravan
A: Lankesh, I am afraid Lakshman is not gonna agree to go to Rama's aid.
L: You don't know womanology. I do. When a woman becomes an emotional basketcase, her mind becomes hollow and empty. Same thing is happening w/ Sita. Lakshman will have to go
A: Okay, let's approach the ashram
They approach the ashram and find it empty
L: What is this?
A: Lankesh, looks like Mareech did too good a job. He made Rama seem in so much trouble that not only Lakshman, but Sita too went to his aid
L: Grrr 😡
Akampana fled the scene, wondering whether to go to Mareech's funeral or just return to Lanka
