This stunning lady is just 21 years old, but stood up against the crusade of her fellow contestants like a wall. Fingers were pointed at her choreography and she was accused of using Jazz steps in here Cha cha cha routine. Nichole tells us how she has forgiven her friends in the show and is ready to move on.
Tell us about yourself Nicole.
I am 21 and I have danced for the last six years. Technically I am a Latin American dancer, Bollywood has been a recent forte. Dance is more of a hobby for me than a career. But I absolutely love it.
You had a major ligament problem, which people thought was made up to get votes. Is it true?
It was actually blown out of proportion. It was just a curve muscle strain, which was so bad that it started bleeding. There was no such thing as internal bleeding or torn ligament. The performance day was close that there was no time to heal… so it was bad on that day. As a result, many people thought how could anybody with torn ligaments dance? Even I would have had the same reaction. It was just blown out of proportion.
The other contestants also spoke about you using Jazz steps in Cha cha cha. What is your answer to them?
As choreographers, we're here to make the celebrities dance. When a person has done such a fantastic job, where everyone from judges to the entire country loved it, I don't think we as choreographers can point fingers at the judges and question their points. Everyone has got a 30, deserved or undeserved. I don't think there was any need to go out of their way to make those comments, it didn't solve anything. And why make just one person the target? Everybody does Bollywood in Salsa and Samba. I did Jazz in Cha cha cha. There was a cha cha count in every step and the judges appreciated it.
You are good looking and dance well, too. Did you ever consider acting as a career?
I really haven't thought of that. I am 21 and still in college. But if any good opportunities come my way, I will definitely take it up.
