Hello people!
Two posts in a day. I think I need a break from this show. 😳 It's not letting me do anything else.
Okay straight to the subject... What a power-packed episode today! The beginning unsettled me a bit because of how they inserted a scene right in the middle of what we had seen yesterday thereby breaking the initial flow to the conversation. The addition was fine on it's own.. I just wish they hadn't edited it out in the last episode. Oh well... no point cribbing now I suppose. Very nice monologue by Sona though. And did anyone notice how Dev was looking at her oh-so-fondly while she had her back turned to him? I loved the warmth in his eyes and the smile on his face as she talked. He might not buy everything she says but he still seems to love just listening to her. I adored the friendliness with which he countered her statement about the world appearing rosy and pink when you fall in love. :) I adored how comfortably they can talk even if they don't agree with each other. They have such a healthy equation that way. When he says how he would rather take advice from someone who has fallen in love only once in their life... *facepalm* she's right infront of you my dear Sir. And then ofcourse he seizes her hand and places it upon his heart, which incidentally happens to be something Sona has dreamed about... That Dev and this one are completely different though. This one talks about science and logic, something he feels that, being a Doctor, she should believe in as well. Oh Dev! Said Doctor's heart is currently doing somersaults while you remain oblivious.. Logic gaya tel lene. 😆 I liked this scene also because well... Dev totally looked like eye candy.
Anyway, the whole thing ended a bit abruptly and the sudden shift to Sona in her room was a bit unsettling again. They should really finish such scenes well. It was a good scene overall though and an important one too because of what happened in the other half of the episode. I'm talking about Neha. Dev sharing about why he needs to do right by Neha with Sona gives her the perspective she needs to help Dev make up his mind about Ranveer. On the other hand, Sona explaining about the beauty of love to Dev can help him understand why love is such an important factor in this unlikely match and does carry some weight. His first instinct is to toss the whole idea aside and think only of the materialistic stuff. I don't think he will be entirely satisfied but it should be of some help to him.
Sona's tantrum on being friend- zoned - 🤣 For someone who absolutely loves the idea of bestfriends falling in love I still found her frustration completely hilarious. Some lines were pure gold there. 😆 I loved how she ranted and raved about how blind Dev is to her feelings. Sona is very close to burying Dev into the ground. 😆 Then ofcourse she calms down and tries to be okay with the same idea she lost her head over a few minutes ago... I love how this girl goes back and forth. She tries to be reasonable; afterall a few days ago she couldn't even call herself his friend and now she can and that's good... right? ABSOLUTELY NOT! Sona - 😆😆😆 I loved loved loved how scared Elena was of her in this scene. Especially that last bit where she scampered back up on the bed and hugged the post in fright. Hell hath no fury like a woman... well friend-zoned. 🤣 You know the good thing is, no matter how frustrated she was in this scene, she tried to help Dev very sincerely earlier. No matter how mad she gets at him and the entire situation later, she will never try to manipulate him in her favor. She really is such a good and honest friend to him that way. Its alright and only natural to complain about it later ofcourse. We can think a million thoughts... but how we choose to act is what really counts at the end of the day.
Coming to the dramatic stuff - Interesting tactic by the writers to use the disappearance of the watch in such a manner. I really did not see that coming. Radha Rani is... *bangs head against the nearest wall* Anyway I really liked how her accusations pushed Neha into both realizing and confessing how she feels for Ranveer. These Dixits I tell you... Both Dev and Neha are the sort to be pushed to breaking point before they finally realize what they want and who they want in their life. I really loved the way Dev bluntly asked everyone to leave so that he could talk to his sister. Great act by both Shaheer and Chestha Bhagat throughout this scene. I loved both their reactions and facial expressions - Very well emoted. 👏
Oh and BTW- God bless Mamaji today. He was seriously my hero for how he took no crap from his wife.
Loved the family scene in the room too - Neha at peace with her decision, Dev defiant and completely unconvinced and Ishwari just feeling a sense of wonder and happiness at seeing the transition in Neha. You know if you contrast this to Ishwari and Neha's other conversations this one was so smooth and full of understanding. For once Neha could also see and understand her Mother's apprehensions about the marriage. The way she calmly listened to Ishwari without getting defensive and angry and misinterpreting her Mother in any way even once was a testimony of how much of an influence Ranveer has been on her. That was beautiful what she said about Ranveer, about how she thought that she was just feeling drawn to him because this was her first time out in the real world, the first time she made a friend and how she was convinced that she doesn't have enough perspective to really tell if Ranveer is truly unique or just like other men. It was a very real confusion. What I find interesting about this entire situation is how Neha revisiting a part of her life that she has only thought of with bitterness and pain can actually allow her to see it all with a different perspective and handle it with more grace... Then it was all forced upon her, now it's entirely her own choice, a choice she has made for love. Once she deals with the same problems with patience, understanding and love she can hopefully let go of all the resentment she holds in her heart.
Dev's dilemma is perfectly real too. The Dixits have spent such a significant portion of their life in poverty that he naturally connects money with happiness. They have seen the suffering that comes from a lack of money and so he naturally refuses to let his sister go through that again. He has given his whole life to this very thing afterall so it's going to be very difficult for Dev to accept this relationship. I loved loved loved Shaheer in this scene. The fierce protectiveness and worry that Dev exhibited was spot-on! 👏
Ishwari's reaction was interesting as well. On one hand, I could see the Mother who is just happy to see her daughter so happy and is willing to support her. On the other hand I could also see how immensely guilty Ishwari feels for neglecting Neha the way she did. When she said how this is the first time she has seen Neha truly and completely happy and how they need to protect that, it was so clear how to some extent, all this is also like an absolution of sorts for Ishwari. She truly feels like she (and perhaps to some extent, Dev because they are one unit in some ways) is wholly responsible for Neha's misery and if she just manages to ensure that Neha gets her happiness with Ranveer than perhaps Neha would be able to forgive her Mother, so that then Ishwari can also forgive herself. She was practically in a reverie today over the idea that there might be a way to lessen Neha's pain. Beautifully explored and wonderfully, wonderfully enacted by Supriya ji! 👏
THE PRECAP! These night-time chats seem to be becoming routine for Mr. Dixit! This man I swear.. so so blind to his own heart. *slow clap for Dev* 😆 Looking forward to this scene!
