Today's events of substance.
Shirt da button scene: They appended the scene today with yet another dreamy confession scene. It was good to watch Shaheer going soft on his eyes and voice and become romantic when he utters those beautiful words. I forgot all things that I dislike about this cliched shirt button sewing sequence that every romantic show never fails to include. He was so cute. But I just hope that they do not bare this confession act so much so that the final moment of truth becomes too apparent and lifeless. Like always, we did get a glimpse of his care for Sona when the needle pricked her finger and also when she sneezed. He winced when she cried of pain and he was swiftly at her side when she sneezed. Dev, you have completely taken it for granted that her wellbeing is no one else's but only your business. You just need to sit and think about who that one person is, revolving whom are your thoughts, actions, expectations and anticipations. That's all you need, to make a decision about your marriage with Natasha.
In this first scene, I also liked the way Dev tried to give in to his maami's command and leave the spot without taking the water that Sona offered. I liked that deliberation the two exercise in the presence of the family members, especially Dev when he handles the situations that involve him and Sona. Poor boy, went outside and sat on the portico to keep with Sona's superstitions. How sweet is that? Loved him.
Natasha asks Sona to convince Dev: Ah! Natasha again proved all of us right in wondering whether she is what she is supposed to be or what they are portraying her to be or what we expect her to be. She requests (pleads ?) Sona to convince Dev to agree to a cuisine of her choice. What? I can't believe a strong business woman could do things like that in situations like these. First of all, what are the writers trying to prove or do by making her act like that? Natasha is an emotionally weak person? She is not able to figure out how to build the relationship that she really wants? Is it just to show her plain understanding and acknowledgment of the friendship between Dev and Sona? I mean what is the purpose of that act? I did not get that.
But, but ... I loved the way Dev casually folds his shirt sleeves and tucks in his shirt as she speaks, initially surprised at what she was doing, then gives a quizzical look at her and then a fond look at Sona. That moment was so special. It was like he was so glad that in one way or the other Sona gets involved in matters of his life, trivial or vital. He had that shy, smiling and relenting face, while his gaze moved between the two women. He found it silly, funny, but endearing all the same. Loved Shaheer for such beautiful expressions!
Sona, Vicky, Dev scene: Very soon Vicky is going to get a piece of Dev's mind for messing up with Sona or Elena. I am sure Dev will take out badly on him when the moment arrives. We have seen him deal with Vicky mercilessly in the past and he knows what his brother is all about. And if Vicky botches up with Sona, then God save him.
Dev and Sona scene: Awww. Where do I start? It was the best scene in today's episode. Throughout their private time together, they were just adorable. They did not have any stress or undercurrents that was weighing them down. Dev was so relaxed. There was this superficial line of worry on his face related to the marriage issue but still he was able to take the liberty to complain about her childish giggles related his choice of colors and the ways he gets his shopping done.
These two people know each other so well. Even when one feels helpless and finds no way out of a situation, the other tries to show him the way right out of where he is standing. Dev felt that he is no one to make or ask Natasha to wait, because he has personal problems to tackle before he takes the plunge. He feels guilty to buy more time to make a decision. But Sonakshi in a clear tone states that if one decides to make someone the life partner and wishes to spend the entire life with the person, then there should not be any problem waiting, be it a week or a year. It is the sense of belonging and life of togetherness that matters and not the time to take the oath. That had so much depth to it. Sona said that with so much ease. Wow! Dev who are you searching for, what more are you searching for and where? Open the door to your heart, Dev.
Did he go green-eyed when she asked him how was he so sure that she has not fallen in love? There was this fleeting discomfort and anxiousness to find out if she did. So beautiful.
Overall, the episode was very good. I find Erica very tired in the last two episodes. Hope she gets enough rest. Shaheer is amazing and just love his acting. I am going to sleep with a smile on my face, Shaheer!
