IAM ADDICTED (ONE SHOT)
"Umm.. Nandani Would y-you like to go out sometime?"
HIS simple question changed her life. As he sheepishly looked down at her. He seemed so out of his usual character, with a faint blush on his cheeks, but still retained a stoic scowl, as if he was expecting the worst.
"Hm... sure." she replied, giving a wide grin, "It's about time you asked me!" she giggled, smiling up at him mischievously. He was a lot taller than her, so looking up caused a bit of strain in her neck.
"Y-you were expecting this?!" He asked, his face turning tomato red with embarrassment.
"Yup," she giggled again, "Did cabir finally convince you to ask me out?"
He crossed his arms, turning away and scowling. "That's none of your business." He huffed coldly, looking away from her.
she frowned, worried that she had teased the ALWAYS WINNING captain of their FOOTBALL team THE MANIK MALHOTRA. a bit too much. "Hey, I'm sorry," she apologized, "...How about after your practice I'll meet you and we can go do something fun, alright?"
He lifted his head, his expression brightening for a second, before he regained his signature scowl. "Sure. Whatever."
she could tell, however, that he was really and truly excited. "Hooray! See you then, Manik" she turned around, a skip in her step as she walked to her next class.
Though she didn't see, manIK was currently having a soft, small smile. "...See you then, nandani."he said softly.
ONE MONTH LATER
"Thanks, dhruv, for the notes. I'll see you in class!" nandani said grinning and clutched the stack of notes which dhruv had given her.
He smiled kindly at her, adjusting his glasses. "No problem, Nandani. I'll see you tomorrow." He waved at her, before turning around and walking away.
"...Who was that?!"
she turned around to see Manik angrily striding towards her. "Hi, manik!" she said cheerily, waving at him. He, however, seemed to be radiating fury. "Hey, what's wrong?"
"Answer me, nandani. Who was that?!" He growled, grabbing her by the shoulders and shaking her slightly.
It had been about two weeks since they were an "official" couple, however, they had gone on a few "dates" before that. Nothing major had changed between the two of them, but nandani had gotten a lot of attention now that she is Space academy's top football team captain's Girlfriend.
"Wait, are you jealous?! Of him?" she asked, her eyes wide with shock. She had never imagine Manik to get this jealous, especially over her just talking to someone.
He glared at her with dark red eyes. "Do you like him?!"
she snorted. " What! Of course not, Manik! I'm dating you."she explained to him, putting her hands over his lightly, trying to loosen his grip from her shoulder.
"Then why were you talking to him?!" He demanded stubbornly.
She sighed, shaking her head slightly. "Manik, I needed his notes for Math Class. I missed a class for your practice match yesterday, and I needed the notes." she said calmly, trying to cool manik down.
Manik still looked pretty angry, however. "I didn't like how friendly he was getting with you!" He growled, "He kept trying to touch you and""
"Manik"" she said, cutting him off suddenly by wrapping her arms around his neck and standing up on the tips of her toes, silencing him with her lips.
After a few seconds, she pulled away, blushing. Manik's face was as red as tomato, his eyes wide with shocked. They hadn't kissed yet, so this was their first kiss as a couple.
"Manik." She stated, looking at him fondly. "I'm dating you, not Dhruv. Even if he liked me, I like you, not him, and I would never cheat on you. Ok?"
Manik looked away suddenly, embarrassed. "Fine." He growled, "If you say so."
She giggled at his cute expression. "Aw, you're so cute! You're blushing."
He turned his head sharply, glaring at her. "I'm not cute." He growled, staring down at her, "I'm fearsome."
But she continued to laugh. "You're face is so red, even though I only kissed you""
Manik silenced her by pressing his lips against her's harshly, gripping her by her shoulders. He deepened the kiss a bit experimentally, before breaking apart, smiling slightly. "Look whose face is red now," He said, chuckling as he turned and walked away.
She touched a hand to her face gingerly, only to find that it was burning hot. "Ma-anik! Come back here! T-that was cheating!"
TWO MONTH LATER
"Go Manik go!" Nandani cheered, jumping up and down on the stands. Her eyes were glittering with excitement as she watched her boyfriend ready to hit football ground,after the whistle sounded and he, along with other jocks took off.
she cheered wildly, of course, her eyes trained on him as he lead effortlessly toward the goal post ready to strike goal.
"Come on, Manik!" she screamed, watching as he passed one boy of other team, and than another, grinning madly at his success. He goaled, of course, and she screamed with appreciation. Manik caught her eyes in the crowd, and she waved at him eagerly. He smiled at her, before turning around and going into the locker room to get changed.
Skipping happily, she went to stand outside the locker room exit, waiting for Manik. Practically all the boys that had been playing today walked out while she were waiting, and after a while she were sure that Manik would be the next one out. However, when the door opened next, Madhayam khurrana walked out.
"Oh, hi maddy!" she said cheerily. she had met maddy before a few times, and Manik talked about him a lot as well. " congratulation, You play really well today."
"oh ...Thank you, Nandani." He said, his expression just as blank as always. "Are you waiting for Manik?"
"Mm-mm..." she reply.But Before they two could continue talking, the door to the boys locker room swung open to reveal Manik, a furious expression on his face.
"Well, goodbye then, Nandani. Goodbye Manik." Maddy said, walking away slowly.
"See ya, Maddy!" she called, before turning towards manik. Her face broke into a grin, and she practically leapt on him, wrapping her arms around his neck. "Manik! You did great today!"
His expression, however, looked furious. "What were you two doing?" He spat.
She slowly let go of him, confused. "We were just talking..." she said, before sighing and rolling her eyes when she realized why he was so mad. "Manik, don't be jealous, I'm dating you""
"I AM jealous!" He growled, grabbing her wrists harshly, "I don't like you talking to him, laughing with him""
"Manik, I know you don't really like Maddy," she cut him off, her voice calm, "But he's just another guy, he's just a friend."
"No! Don't you get it?!" He shook her roughly, causing her eyes to widen in surprise, "I don't like anyone talking to you. I don't like anyone to look at you, or think about you. YOU ARE MINE, and no one seems to understand it!"
she laughed nervously, a bit frightened by his possessiveness. "Manik, calm down, you're sounding really possessive..."
"Maybe I need to remind you who you belong to." He growled, smashing his lips against her.
she accepted the kiss warily, trying to kiss back, but his mouth dominated her's in a passionate fury. she moaned a bit at the power behind the kiss, but she found herself enjoying his control over her, even if it terrified her.
He broke the kiss, pulling her into the locker room and pushing her up against the lockers suddenly. He kissed her again, his hands pinning her's above her head. Eventually, she stopped trying to kiss back, because he just seemed to overpower her even more. He seemed pleased with her submission, a pleasured growl rumbling in the back of his throat.
After a few more seconds, he broke the kiss, moving down to trail little kisses down her neck. She moaned again, "M-manik, stop it, not here""
He cut her off by sinking his teeth in her neck, leaving a red mark when he moved away. "Stop denying me," He whispered into her ear. He pulled back, panting, and she saw a hint of regret flash in his eyes for how harshly he was treating her but he can't control himself now. "There's no one here, so don't worry."
Manik's free hand grabbed her shirt, slowly forcing it off her and over her head. He pressed his body against her, capturing her in another kiss. Her body hummed in pleasure at the closeness of his, and she felt like she were on an emotional high. Even though there was a nagging voice in the back of her mind, telling her that this was wrong, that his behavior towards her was dangerous, but she readily ignored it, breaking her hands free from his grip and running her fingers through his soft and black hair.
"I'll show you who you belong to," Manik purred, his eyes half-closed in pleasure in her acceptance. He pulled her away from the locker, pushing her down on a wooden bench in the locker room and hovering over her threateningly.
she found herself smiling madly, even though his words caused a pang of fear in her gut. Even though her instincts told her not to, she found herself opening her mouth, saying the words that sealed her fate for good: "Show me."
ONE MONTH LATER
"Manik, I just want to see my friends." she said stubbornly, one hand on the doorknob.
"I told you; stay with me tonight. They're not your real friends," He replied, standing over her with anger in his eyes.
They were hanging out that night, just like they did every night since the locker room incident'. But nandani were also getting worried. Manik was getting more and more possessive, and no matter how much she tried, she couldn't bear to drag herself away from him. She couldn't explain it; maybe SHE LOVED HIM, or maybe it was something else. But, no matter how much she told herself that his behavior wasn't normal, that she was pulling herself deeper and deeper down a dark hole, she ignored it, drowning herself in him.
"Manik, please, it'll just be a few hours. I'll be back before you know it," she said, trying to ease his mind, "My friends are getting"" Suspicious, she thought, ""Worried. And I just really want to go out so I can--"
"Meet another man?! Woman?! Forget about me for one night?!" He yelled, grabbing her arm and pulling her towards him, "Just what do you want so badly that I can't do for you?"
"I... I don't know! I just want to see my friends." she stuttered, her eyes wide with fear.
"Why?! Am I not good enough for you?!" He yelled, his face inches away from her's, "I LOVE YOU. Only I love you. Why isn't that good enough?!"
Her blood froze. This was the first time he had told her he loved her. she had always thought that it was unspoken. "I... I love you too, Manik." she said quietly.
"Then stay with me," He growled.
But she yanked her arm out of his grip forcefully. "Why can't you just trust me, Manik?! Just for a few hours, plea""
--SLAP!
Her eyes widened with shock, as she touched a hand gingerly to her stinging cheek. "M-manik... you"" her eyes widened and tears started to form in her big brown eyes.
His eyes widened as well when he realized what he had done. "S-shit, Nandani, I""
Turning away from him, she slammed the door open, running out while sobbing. she could hear Manik screaming for her behind her, but she ignored him, sprinting out into the cold night air.
She stumbled, running desperately just to get away from Manik .She turned a corner, finding herself behind a large tree. she put a hand on the tree, leaning on it to catch her breath, sobs wracking her body. "W-why..." she sobbed, not even trying to wipe away the tears that were streaming down her face. "I... I have to leave him. H-he slapped me, I c-can't even b-believe it..."
"oh god.. Nandani! There you are!" she heard Manik's voice behind her, his voice sounding shaken yet relieved.
He wrapped his arms around her, pulling her close to his chest. She struggled feebly, but eventually she just accepted the hug, his touch so comforting and lovely, even though she knew it was poisonous. "M-manik, n-no--!"
"I'm so sorry, I am so sorry..." He whispered in her ear, and she felt something drip down her neck. She realized that he was crying.
"M-manik..." she mumbled his name, tears streaming down her face as well. He turned her around, wiping her tears away with his sleeve.
"I know you'll never forgive me," He mumbled, his eyes red, "but please listen to me, I am so sorry... If you had just stayed with me..."
She tried to tell him to go away,
She tried to say that it was over, but she couldn't find her voice, lost in his deep regretful eyes. "I... I forgive you," she found herself saying. "I'll stay with you." her promise seemed to ignite a fire in Manik's eyes.
He pulled her into a tighter embrace, his chin resting on her head. "Good." He whispered in her hair, "I'll never let you go, Love. Never..."
And,she lost in the addictive feeling of his embrace,
she found that she couldn't say anything else than: "Okay..."
Manik was a drug to her: dangerous and addictive.
And now that he had her hooked, he'd never let her go. And the terrifying part was that, even though she knew he wasn't sane, that she knew that this relationship was dangerous,
she didn't want to lose him.
She couldn't thought anything else than
IAM ADDICTED... TO HIM.
