Pride Manan SS - Part 4 updated

Manik Malhotra is a 25 year old multimillionaire and is one of the hottest looking bachelors in London. He is a shrewd businessman. Girls are crazy about him but till date no one has been able to go near him or we can say he has never let anyone enter his personal space. His attitude has always been the talk of the town and has been labeled him as rich and arrogant. But hell does Manik Malhotra cares. No one have access to his private life . However there is only one person who has access to everything which belongs to Manik and that is Nikhil khanna, his childhood buddy . Nikhil is a 23 years old young , handsome & rich guy obviously not as rich as Manik. Nikhil is very active socially and he is the one who pushes manik out of his boring life. Manik considers him his true friend and younger brother. Nikhil respects and loves Manik a lot. Manik has no family of his own and consider's Nikhil and his family as his own family.

Murthy's (delhi)

Nandini murthy is a 24 years old young , simple , soft spoken yet determined girl. She is a high school teacher and very talented but hardly reveals any of her talents. She is her father's Mr. Vijay Murthy's backbone. They share an amazing bonding and understand each other even without speaking. Vijay had his own textile business few years back but lost his business to his evil cousin. Vijay was always a simple, honest and hardworking man who believed in helping others. He has employed his cousin to help his cousin and his family but that guy ditched him big time and 8 years back Murthy's lost everything except a small 3 bedroom flat where they all live. Vijay's health is not good from past 2 years so he has been at home since then.

Nandini's mother Pragya Murthy is a housewife . She has big dreams for her daughters Nandini and Alia (22 years old , chirpy, full of life and good looking girl , interested in modelling). She wants them to get married in well to do families so that they don't have to struggle ever again. Alia and Nandini though very different but completely adore each other and stand for each other through thick and thin.

STORY

Nikhil is jumping with joy

N : Wow Manik we are going to delhi tomorrow after 5 long years. It will be so much fun

M : Uff, whats so great about the trip. India is so polluted , there is hardly a place where u can breathe fresh air. I donot know why u r so excited? Agar mera bas chale to I will never ever go there

N : Smiles, par jana to padega we have an important business deal over there

Nikhil's mother Nyonika Khanna enters the scene

Nyo : Manik , let it be Nikhil will never understand, just make sure that he interacts with people of our status and class. You know how he is and anyone can take advantage of his innocence.

Manik smirks : Donot worry Mrs. Khanna , I know how to keep a check on him.

Nikhil makes faces

N : Ok whatever, we are going to delhi tomorrow and its going to be fun. Waise mom I am thinking that I should bring you a daughter inlaw from India

Nyo - Gets angry and says never and leaves

Ma : Why do you irritate her so much

Both Manik and Nikhil laugh.

On the other side

Alia cannot stop crying. Nandini is trying hard to console her but she is not stopping. Alia had gone for a modeling audition today and the head of the event told her that she will be the main model provided that she spends some quality time with him. Alia couldn't take it and she slapped him in front of everyone and in return that guy threatened her that she will never be able to do modeling in her life.

Alia (crying ) - Nandini kash hum rich aur influential hote . Hume itna struggle kabhi bhi nahin karna padta.

N : Alia donot worry sab theek ho jaayega, please donot cry.

Alia was not stopping, nandini finally got up and opened her cupboard. She brought a packet and gave it to alia.

She opened it and was so excited.

A : Omg nandini this is the same dress which I saw in the mall few days back. But this was too expensive how did you ...

N : Hugs her , donot worry my sweet little sister, it is for you and u know I can do anything to see you happy.

(Nandinii had actually saved some money to buy a new pair to sandals for herself as her sandals were in very bad shape but when she saw Alia going crazy over the dress, she decided to buy that instead as she being Nandini can do anything for the happiness of her family).

This entire scene was witnessed by Nandini's father and he had tears in his eyes. He felt helpless. Nandini's mother consoles him and tells that their daughters will get all the happiness in the world and its just a matter of time.

Manik and Nikhil finally arrive in delhi. They are in the hotel.

N: Manik lets go out .

M : No Nikhil Im not going anywhere. Have you seen how dusty it is outside and the traffic sucks. Tu kuch bhi karle mein kal meeting se pehle kahin nahin jaane wala.

N : Ok whatever Mr. London , I am going out. I have a friend here, I will go and party with him

M: Yaa do whatever. I will watch football and sleep.

N: Yaa how boring.

Nikhil leaves in a taxi. Alia is on her way back home after spending time with her friends. She is crossing the road and is hit by a taxi. Its Nikhil's taxi. Nikhil immediately comes out to help her and is mesmerized by Alia's beauty and innocent looking eyes. Alia is in pain. He immediately picks her up and takes her to a nearly clinic. She is not hurt much and has a small injury on knees. She is amazed to see the genuine concern on Nikhil's face for her.

Nikhil picks her up in his arms and puts her in the taxi.

N : Hey I m so sorry.

A : Smiles , it was not your mistake , first of all it was your driver and secondly I was in hurry.

N: Laughs, by the way I am Nikhil.

A : Hi I am alia.

They share an intense eyelock. Nikhil have dated few girls before but he was totally floored by Alia's innocence and beauty.

N: Where is your house. I will drop you.

A : No you please go ahead. You are already late bcoz of me.

N : Are you kidding, im not going anywhere. I will drop you first and then go.

Nikhil finally dropped her at the building gate and went off.

Both Alia and Nikhil could not sleep and kept smiling whole night. Alia told Nandini about this guy and kept blushing. Nandini was surprised as she had never seen her like that.

Next morning Manik noticed that Nikhil was all impatient and restless during their meeting. He would often smile and then again become sad. After the meeting Manik confronted him. Nikhil however did not reveal anything because he knows how Manik is .

Nikhil went to Alia's building again and luckily after waiting for 1hr alia came out. Next two days Nikhil and Alia spent a lot of time together and were totally into each other. Nikhil mentioned to Alia that he is here only for 3 more days and this made Alia sad. It was also a reality check for her. After Nikhil dropped her home , alia entered the room all teary eyed and hugged Nandini tightly.

Alia told Nandini , how she is in love with this rich and handsome guy from London who would leave india in next 3 days. Alia was feeling hurt and stupid that how can she fall in love with someone like Nikhil. There is a huge difference in their social status and this relation has no future. She kept crying. Nandini's heart ached a lot seeing her like that but she also advised her to stay away from that guy as they did not belong to their world and by no means would be able to become acceptable in their world. Alia told Nandini not to tell anything about this to her parents. Nandini hugged her tightly and was there with her till she slept.

Nandini before sleeping went to see her father who slept on the couch while sleeping. Their mother had gone to her sister's place and would return next day. She sat on the floor and kept her head on her fathers lap. Vijay had a smile on her face and patted her head.

N : Dad , I have something to tell you. I have been given an increment and my salary has been doubled.

V : He smiled , Nandini I want you to see settled. I cannot have the entire burden on your little shoulders. You know I always called you a princess from childhood but look what I have done to you. I have not been able to take care of my family.

Nandini immediately got up to wipe his tears.

N : Dad , donot ever say this again. I know if it was not because of the illness, you would have never taken a penny from me.

Vijay smiled : Ok I also have a good news for you. I am through with my book on textile industry and will be giving it for printing soon and if everything goes well, we will be better off financially and then I will find a prince for my princesses and marry her off.

They both laughed.

N: but princess will never leave her dad and she hugged him.

Next day Alia called Nikhil and told him that we can never meet again and whatever is between them that's over. He should forget everything. They both belong to different world and can never be together.

Nikhil was deeply heartbroken. He was barely able to control his emotions in the meeting and when he and Manik reached hotel ,he broke down infront of Manik and told him everything about Alia.

Manik was shocked and thought " Mrs. Khanna was right". How could I let this happen. He has fallen in trap on some middle class girl. Oh sit. Manik's head was spinning but he knew he had to behave wisely. Manik knew exactly how Nikhil was and he could make out that Nikhil was very serious about this girl. He thinks that he will have to take Nikhil out of this mess but wisely. If he asks him to stay away directly then Nikhil would not listen.

N : Manik , please come to her house with me . I will talk to her parents and convince them that I will keep their daughter happy. Please manik please I want to marry alia

Manik was again shocked and thought " Marriage , what the hell , he wants to marry this girl . Shit , this looks bad. However Manik thought that he will have to act maturely and in a calm manner.

M: Ok Nikhil , just inform her that we will come to her house in the evening. Let us meet her parents and family.

Nikhil was now happy and jumping with joy. He knew that Manik is capable of handling any situation

He immediately texted Alia and told her that he wants to marry her and he is coming with his friend to see her parents.

Alia was in complete shocked but the statement that he wants to marry her gave her so much relief. She was now happy and confident of her love.

She immediately went out and revealed everything to her parents and Nandini who were in the drawing room and chatting.

Alia's mother got over excited and happy after hearing the news. Vijay did not look too pleased. Nandini however convinced him that we should at least meet him once for Alia's sake.

Nandini prepared the dinner for all of them as she was a very good cook and this was one of her many talents. Nandini also helped Alia to dress up properly.

Manik's and Nikhil's car stopped at Nandini's society and Manik was quite unhappy seeing the society where Alia lives but he had to control his displeasure because of Nikhil... Nikhil gave him a hug in happiness and they finally reached their apartment and pressed the doorbell.

Alia opened the door in excitement and let them in. Alia held Nikhil's hand and brought him in. Nandini saw both of them together and thought that they make a wonderful couple. Suddenly her eyes fell on this young , tall , handsome and very well dressed guy coming behind Nikhil. Nandini had never seen a guy as handsome as Manik and was kind of smitten by his looks.

Finally they were in, Alia introduced Nikhil to his family and Nikhil introduced Manik to his family.

There was arrogance in Manik's behavior and Nandini just could sense it. Manik was feeling quite uneasy in their house and he kept looking around and Nandini could see the displeasure in his eyes.

She then looked at Nikhil who was complete opposite

Nandini came from Kitchen and offered water to Nikhil and then went to Manik

N: Mr. Malhotra , some water.

Manik : smiled faintly , no thanks , I only drink bislery water.

Nikhil heard that and just to cover it up he cracked a joke and diverted everyone attention.

Nikhil seems a very chilled out guy and Alia's parents kind of liked him. He told them about his family and the work he does.

In the meantime Manik was getting irritated because first he had to come to place like that and then he had to bear these people who according to him were clear cut opportunists.

Manik finally interrupted

M : Mr. Murthy , Nikhil will keep continuing like this but I want to tell you that Nikhil's mother Mrs. Nyonkia Khanna will take a final call on this. We are leaving for London in 2 days and we will discuss everything with her.

Nandini's father just smiled and nodded. Like Nandini her father could also sense the arrogance and discomfort of Manik but Nikhil appeared to be a different guy all together and he thus saw some hope in Alia and Nikhil's relationship.

Nandini : Dinner is ready , you can all come to the dining table.

As usual Nikhil rushed to the dining table to eat dinner.

Pragya : Proudly told that the entire dinner has been cooked by Nandini. She is a very good cook and they both will relish the food.

Nandini started serving and she served first to Nikhil and then went to Manik to serve food.

Nandini was about to put a dish in Manik's plate but he again stopped her.

M : Ms. Murthy , I don't eat this food, I mean I only eat continental food.

Pragya : Manik beta thoda sa taste karlo . This food is soo nice that you will love it.

Manik didn't look pleased. Nandini looked at his father and her father told her to leave it and back off in gestures.

V : No problem Mr. Malhotra. If we had known then we would have prepared some continental food for you. We can order some food now

M : No its ok , in any case we will be leaving soon I will have something in the hotel.

Vijay did not insist as he kind of realized that this guy will not eat or drink anything made in their house. However he downplayed everything because Alia and Nikhil was their concern and not Manik.

Finally they all left, however Vijay made it clear to Nikhil that Alia would only meet him now after he gets back to them after discussing everything with his family and they approve of this union.

Alia and Pragya were very happy but Vijay looked tensed. Nandini could make out that Manik's behavior has made her dad quite un comfortable. Nandini herself thought that what an arrogant jerk this, guy is. However she went ahead and comforted her father and they both kind of agreed that Nikhil is a great guy and if his family is ok with the Alliance then everything should be fine.

Part 2

Nandini Murthy was always a brilliant student. Her IQ level was that of a genius and if her parents financial status would have supported then she would be at a different professional level altogether. Nevertheless she loved her job and she was the youngest teacher of the school. The kids loved her and her brilliance in teaching. She use to teach Math's and physics but there was actually no subject she didn't have idea about. She was a brilliant speaker however she was reserve and would not open up in public gatherings easily. Her emotions and inner turmoil were hard to understand except of course her father.

It was a regular day for Nandini and she was in her school as usual. She was in the corridor and was taken aback seeing the similar sights she saw last Night. It was again the same rich & the arrogant Mr. Manik Malhotra who was with the owner to the school ( owner of the school was a very rich businessman who has business all around india). They saw each other.

N : Hello Mr. Malhotra

M : Hi Ms. Murthy

Nandini didn't feel like speaking to him at all as his arrogance was irritating and today also he pissed off nandini the way he looked at her torn sandals & giving that " you are so down market " kind of look.

The owner who was on call, finally came and took away Manik.

Nandini took a sigh of relief.

In the evening Alia was as usual going gaga over Nikhil and then Nandini mentioned how she met Mr. Arrogant today.

A : Haha I know he has attitude issue but Nikhil told me that he is the bestest guy in the world

N : Haa.. bestest guy , he is rich and arrogant. I wonder iski girlfriend kaise jhelti hogi isse

A : Par he is single

Nandini cann't stop laughing

N: So I m right , koi isse jhel nahin sakta. Aaj mere sandals to aisa dekh raha tha , jaise kha jaayega

Both laugh

Alia however realizes that Nandini's sandals are indeed in bad shape and she decided to gift her one as she has saved some money from her part time job at a caf.

A : Nandu , woh I need a help from you. Day after tomorrow Nikhil is leaving and he has requested me to come for a party with him tomorrow night and he has invited you as well.

N : No Alia No , I m not talking to dad. Tumhe pata hai naa papa ne mana kiya hai milne se its not happening and u want to go to a party and that two in the evening. No way

A: Plz plz plz, sweet sister . One last time please

N : Okay baba

They both smile and finally sleep.

On the other hand

Manik is thinking that how will he tell Nyonika about all this. She is definitely going to blast Nikhil and she will be upset with him as well. He gets more irritated

M : Stupid Nikhil , Wahaan London mein ek se ek ladki hai aur isse yahin aur aisi ladki milli thi

Nikhil overhears Manik talk to himself

Nik : Manik Alia koi aisi waisi ladki nahin hai , she is special and tujhe jab pyaar hoga naa tab tujhe pata chalega that Love has no boundaries.

Manik : Bullshit

Nik : Mat sun aur mat maan Mr. Richie Rich, tum bhi yahin hai aur mein bhi and when ur time will come then I will remind you about this .

Manik gives him an irritated look

Nik : Acha tu tension mat le , mom ko mein samjha loonga. Aur haan Kal jo humare business partner ki party hai usme I have invited both Nandini and Alia.

Manik gives him a shocked look and Nikhil smiles.

Nikhil tease manik - Waise Nandini mein kuch baat to hai , why donot you give her a chance, I mean u and her

Manik (annoyed) - Nikhil I think u have gone mad. If it was not you then I would not even look at her second time.

Nikhil to himself - Tu use kya tu to kissi ko bhi nahin dekha ga.

Manik overhears and asks him to go and sleep.

Next day Nandini somehow manages to convince her Dad for the Party. In the evening Manik and Nikhil arrive in a Mercedes and Manik is on the driver seat. Both Alia and Nandini are decently dresses. Alia is wearing a one piece dress while Nandini is wearing pink suit and looking very pretty and of course her new sandals (gifted by alia)

Nikhil immediately gets out and open the door for the ladies and make them sit is the car.

Alia is already excited and thrilled as she is sitting in a car like Mercedes.

Alia - Wow Nikhil amazing car

Nikhil - Tum ek baar London to aajao , tab tumhe pata chalega real cars kaisi hoti hain. Manik aur mujhe special interest hai cars mein and we have a big collection and Manik ko to cars ki knowledge mein koi beat nahin kar sakta.

Alia laughs - Kar sakta hai naa... meri genious behen , koi aisi cheez nahin jisme Nandu urff Nandini kissi ko beat naa kar sake

Nandini tries to shut Alia who is bragging about Nandini's knowledge.

Manik thinks - below standard ke saath yeh ladkiyaan dumb bhi hai. Yeh school ki teacher meri knowledge ko beat karegi

Nikhil who doesn't believe Alia and says stop joking alia

Aliya : Acha u donot believe me just ask her anything

Nandini tries hard to control Alia but she doesn't listen.

Manik doesn't say anything but shakes his head in disbelief .

Nikhil : ok so lets start

Nikhil starts shooting questions at Nandini and Nandu who is little hesitant initially starts replying back , Nikhil is stunned and So is Manik. Manik suddenly interrupts and take the discussion to a higher level and Nandini's replies and knowledge is just unbelievable.

Alia finally says - Acha , now guys stop it . Tumhe pata chal gaya naa meri behen kitni knowledgeable hai ab bas lets change the topic.

Nikhil : Okay baby

Manik is stunned at Nandini's knowledge. On the other hand Nandinni thinks that this is the first time that this Mr. Arrogant had a meaningful conversation with her.

They finally arrive at the venue

Part 3

Nikhil and aliya enjoyed a lot during the party. Manik spent most of his time talking about business and talking on phone. However Manik did notice the kind of male attention Nandini was attracting towards her. Quite a few men were eyeing her and tried to talk to her. She would speak to them but would not get too engrossed in any conversation and smartly move out of it. On the other hand Nikhil and Aliya were busy enjoying and dancing with each other. Manik was little upset with Nikhils hopelessly romantic behavior. Nandini chose not to dance and finally sat on a corner seat. An elderly lady caught hold of her and they were engrossed in a conversation. Elderly lady enquired about Nandini's hobbies and she did mention that she likes to sing and have won few awards in singing. What Nandini did not know was that this elderly lady was one of the party organizers grandmother and it was her birthday also. Later while cutting the cake she called out for Nandini and asked her to sing something.

Manik thought that now he & Nikhil will get embarrassed again coz of this teacher but to his shock Nandini sang soo beautifully that Mr. Manik Malhotra was left shaken. Nandini had a beautiful voice which can touch anyone's heart easily.

Finally party was over . Nikhil and Aliya wanted to stay with each other for some more time. Nandini wanted to go home but she couldn't because of Aliya. Manik on the other hand was irritated but had no option. All of them went to a beach side . Nikhil quickly took Aliya's away.

Nik : Sorry guys, we will be back in few minutes

Nikhil had actually bought a ring for aliya. He secretly gave it to her . Both shared deep and passionate kisses & also cried a bit because Nikhil was going away.

On the other hand , Nandini was left totally clueless as she was with Mr. Malhotra, who would not talk to her or look at her . There was awkwardness between them them. Nandini's eyes suddenly felt on a small boy who was sitting on the corner of road , he was poor and blind and he was sitting with a little dog and patting the dog. Nandini felt sad and hurt , she immediately bought an icecream for the boy and water for the dog as the dog looked thirsty. While the whole world around was ignoring the kid and his dog , nandini with her soft heart put a hand on the boys head and smiled, she gave the ice cream to him and patted his cheeks , the boy happily ate icecream and the dog had water. Then Nandini took out some money from her wallet and gave to the boy (She in her heart felt helpless because she couldnot do anything more for the boy). This all was viewed by Manik and again something touched his heart. He heart has started melting bit by bit . Finally Alia and Nikhil came and for rest of the journey they sat in the back seat leaving Nandini sitting next to Manik. Nandini was little sad after seeing that boy's condition and kept looking out. They finally reached home and Manik could read the sadness in her eyes and he knew what was the reason. Nikhil and alia finally hugged and said bye to each other as Nikhil and Manik would be flying back in few hours. Nikhil hugged Nandini and Manik just kept looking at Nandini and she said bye to him finally with a faint smile. Manik and Nikhil left for London but not before manik making sure that the boy on the road along with his dog is taken care of financially. Manik did not know why he did that but he felt really good after doing this.
