Sonu is on par with rafi infact he is only one who can justify rafi songs nearest to him . and he have sang various other genres too which were not discovered in 60's era rafi could not sung a song with head voice .Rafi was great to that generation's genres of 60's 70's , Sonu took the legacy of rafi sahab forward by singing those genres which were present in 60's combining them with modren works

I know what sonu did, he use to sang old songs for tseries. Rafi sahab created his legacy on his own, unlike sonu who imitated them & got recognition.

because Sonu was capable of singing those songs ...and Sonu later develped his own style in 1997 with yeh dil dewana and created history no one of his contemprory like udit , kumar sanu , spb was as talented as Sonu was infact Mana dey said to sonu that you are born in wrong era you should have born in our era so that i could have given you a healthier competition.even kumar sanu came by singing kishore kumar song and nonethe less rafi sahab used to follow durani sahab , lata jee use to copy noor jahan

Well,with all due respect to Mr.Rafi sahib, Sonu Nigam created his own legacy and it is on par (and I am saying on par only because I respect them too much to undermine their work)with any legend you want to bring up from the past and may be there will be no one like him in the future...

Comparison is wrong, sonu is good, but not even close to Rafi Sahab. His songs are evergreen. Jeet could have compared sonu with kumar sanu, not with rafi.
