Chapter 10

The press conference did create a sensation. All news channels flooded with the news of return of ASR and his acquiring his baby company AR!

Aman lied on his bed with his mind lost in the events that happened in the evening when someone knocked his door.

He opened the door and found Adi.

"Adi...you didn't sleep?" he asked.

Adi nodded no and entered the room. "I want to talk to you" he said.

Aman nodded and took him to the poolside. They both sat under the moon and Aman said, "What is the matter!"

Adi asked directly, "Do you love my mother?"

Aman was startled at his question and stammered, "Woo...Adi..."

"Do you love my mother?" He asked again.

"Yes" he said looking down.

"Then why did you hide it from everyone?" He asked.

"When I wanted to confess, I came to know about her marriage. So I stopped myself!" he said slowly.

"And all these years we all were together. You could've told her!" Adi said.

Aman smiled and said, "But she loves Akash. I didn't want to trouble her by my confession!"

"Mamma don't love that man!" Adi said angrily.

"No Adi...she loves Akash!" Aman said.

"NO! That man don't deserve mamma! Didn't you hear how he talked today?" Adi said angrily.

Aman nodded and looked up.

"Aman uncle," Adi called and he looked at the boy.

"Will you marry my mamma?" The boy asked.

Aman sat up and looked at him wide eyed.

Adi smiled and said, "You're very nice! Everyone feels happy with you, even mamma. Mamma deserves someone like you, not that man! If you marry her, you will be my papa, hai na?"

"Par Adi...Payal will..." Aman began when Adi cut him and said,

"If you marry her, she will be happy forever. I'll also be happy. I'll have a father with whom I can attend father's day celebration at school! I'll also walk into my school holding my father's hand like my friends! I'll..."

Aman hugged the boy tight and patted his back.

Adi hugged him tight and cried, "Aman uncle...I want you to be my papa!"

As she came in for talking with Aman, Payal stood by the entrance of the poolside and watched the scene with tears flowing out of her eyes.

"Roo baby...what are you doing?" Khushi asked as she saw Ruhaan, Ruhi and Sonu eagerly drawing something.

Ruhaan suddenly hid the paper and said, "Nothing mamma!"

Khushi narrowed her eyes and demanded, "Show the paper!"

Roo, Ruhi and Sonu nodded no and Ruhaan said,

"Mamma, this is a surprise for Aman uncle. 3 days after it's his birthday na!"

Khushi nodded and said, "Ok then! Continue! I hope you're not lying!"

"Ma..." Ruhaan cried dramatically, "Kya aapko lagtha hai ki Roo...aapka Roo...jhoot bolte hai?" (Do you think that Roo, your Roo, lies?)

"Aww...Roo baby!" Khushi said and hugged her son. Kissing his forehead she said, "Drama king!"

"Aur mein?" Ruhi pouted.

"You're drama queen!" Khushi said.

"Then I...drama princis (princess)..." Sonu squealed and they laughed.

"Thank god mamma didn't see this!" Ruhaan said as Khushi walked out of the room.

Adi walked in and said, "What's going on here?"

"Adi bhaiyya, come...Roo has made an awesome plan!" Ruhi said.

Adi jumped on the bed and Roo kept the paper in which he was drawing earlier in the middle and explained his plan to everyone.

"So, Ruhi di, make sure that the work is done!" Ruhaan instructed, "And Adi bhaiyya, the most risky job is yours. I hope you can do that!"

"Yes boss!" Adi said and Roo said, "And Sonu baby, you know what to do na?"

Little Sonu nodded her head vigorously indicating that she understood.

Ruhaan took out another paper in which he had written all the names of their enemies.

"So here is the first target - Pooja thaal!" Ruhaan said rounding Pooja Thaal.

"She has to pay for beating Sonu!" Ruhi said in anger and caressed Sonu's head.

"Wait and watch Ms. Pooja ki thaal!" Ruhaan whispered, "Your bad days are gonna begin!"

"My fellow pranksters...you ready?" Ruhaan asked and extended his palm.

"READY!" Adi, Ruhi and Sonu held his palm.

"Shhh..." The next moment everyone hissed and Adi whispered, "Talk slowly, someone will hear!"

"Sorry..." Roo whispered, "So four pranksters, we'll implement the plan tomorrow morning, sharp 9!"

"OKAY!" Others whispered.

"Aman, I see you as my friend, nothing more!" Payal said.

Aman sighed and held the railings of the balcony where they were standing and said, "Payal, I just said that I love you. But did I ask you to reciprocate my feelings?"

Payal looked at him confused and Aman smiled and said, "Payal, I love you for the past 12 years. But I'm not greedy to run behind you for your yes, marry you and get you as my wife. If you're willing, I'll be happy. If you're not, I'll learn to live with that!"

Payal smiled faintly.

He continued, "I don't wish you to be in my arms Payal. If it happens, then I'll be over the moon, obviously. But I'm not going to pester you to fulfil my wishes. If you see me as your friend, it's okay! It's your decision! We were friends. We're friends and we'll always be friends!"

Payal nodded and said, "Thank you. Thank you for understanding me."

Aman smiled and asked, "You still love him, don't you?"

Payal smiled faintly and said, "I loved him Aman! But not anymore! The respect and love I had for that person died 10 years ago when he questioned my character. All these years I felt angry towards Akash. But today...today I'm feeling HATRED for him! I feel disgust and hatred towards that man."

She wiped the tears from her eyes and said, "How easily did he ask that question. Is Aditya really my son? It were just 5 mere words but Aman, you don't have idea how much Adi was affected by those 5 mere words! Did you see his face then? Akash didn't even notice that he is uttering such disgusting things in front of his own son!"

Aman nodded and said, "I saw Adi! He was shocked."

"Aman, I love my son more than anyone in this world. And today, I saw the most vulnerable state of him. I saw how he hugged you and cried. I have never seen him like this. I hate Akash! He hurt my son!" Payal sobbed.

Aman held her shoulder and she leaned on his shoulder and sobbed,

"I want him to suffer Aman. I want each and every one of his family to suffer. He'll have to pay for my son's tears. I'll make him pay!"

"Payal, calm down..." Aman said softly.

Payal withdrew from the half-hug and wiping her tears, sighing, she said, "Aman, the reason I called you here is that I'll...I'll think about it."

Aman looked at her and she said,

"You're a great guy. The best man a girl would get. My son loves you a lot Aman. He wants you to be his father and I know, you'll the best father in the world. So..."

"So...?" Aman asked.

"I'll think about it Aman. I need time." Payal said softly.

Aman smiled faintly and nodded.

Next morning

Kids sat down for breakfast and Khushi, Payal and La served them. Arnav, NK and Aman came down discussing about business and sat for breakfast.

"My dear uncles," Adi said to the men, "No business talk here!"

Arnav, Aman and NK chuckled and said, "Sure buddy!"

"Papa, when will Nani, nanu and Nanibua come?" Ruhi asked and Arnav said, "They have some work at Lucknow dear. They'll come only after a week!"

Khushi was in kitchen preparing milk for kids when she looked at Nani who was preparing food. To be honest, she felt bad seeing the aged lady standing and working hard while all her family members were relaxing.

Payal and Lavanya were also looking at her. Nani's face showed them all her tiredness and the three ladies looked at each other. Khushi looked at Payal with a puppy face and Payal nodded.

Khushi smiled and called, "Nani ji."

Nani turned to them and Khushi said, "You go and take rest. We'll do the rest!"

"No bitiya wo..."

"You can go in!" Payal said sternly. No matter what, there is no way that she is gonna be soft towards there people.

"Nani, go in! We'll do the rest!" Lavanya also said sternly.

Nani nodded and walked out of the kitchen when she heard Payal, "Tell your good for nothing family that from tomorrow onwards someone else must cook for them. This is the last time we're cooking for them!"

"Nani...breakfast!" Anjali called out as everyone came downstairs and sat on chairs.

Arnav, Aman and NK looked at each other. Arnav was about to tell something when Ruhi butt in.

"Excuse me, why are you people sitting here?"

"Now do we need your permission to sit on a chair?" Mami asked angrily.

"Yes, you do!" Ruhaan said angrily, "You're our servants!"

Ruhi said rudely, "Get up and eat from kitchen. GO and don't dare come near us again! GO!"

Arnav, Aman and NK looked at the kids wide eyed. This was the first time they were seeing them behaving so rude!

"Ruhi!" Adi said, "Let them sit here!" He looked at the family and said, "Aap log baitiye!"

The family smiled at Adi's gesture and sat but did they notice the mischievous glint in his and Ruhi's eyes? NO!

The clock at the living room struck 9.

9.00 am!

IT'S 9 AM!

The four pranksters, IT'S TIME FOR ACTION.

Everyone ran to the kitchen hearing Anjali's voice and to their horror they saw...
