Chapter 33

Rahul maanvi reached the office and finds twinkle pacing restlessly at the reception. Twinkle saw them entering the building and rushed to them. She handed rahul a new iphone as told by maanvi from on their way.

Twinkle~ "Sir, this is your new phone as asked. If you don't mind, can I ask how did your phone break? Maanvi said that your old phone is broken and to get this new, better one for you. Would be funny if anyone sees a rockstar without an iphone." She giggled.

Rahul looked at maanvi and a small smile spread on his lips when he thought about how jealous maanvi was that she broke his phone without even caring to look at the messages that rahul was making stories around.

Maanvi cut the conversation before rahul gets more chances to make fun and inquired about meeting with the producers and sponsorers. Twinkle informed them that meeting is already underway and payal is heading it. Without any more delay, they move on to join the meeting.

When they entered the conference room, everyone was discussing over the album and concert promotion. They were all waiting for rahul and maanvi to announce anything in particular but by the looks on raj's face, it was quite apparent that the discussion was going in direction that didn't quite get the approval from him.

Sponsorer1/Mr. Sen~ "Oh, please Mr. and Mrs. Rahul sabarwal, come inside we have been waiting for you." His voice was spirited and excited to see them.

Usually in any other circumstances, this behavior to turn up late for an important meeting might have been treated as an insult to rest of the members. But this meeting was arranged at a very short notice over an idea that started building up during the holi celebration at sabarwal mansion, the members would have been surprised if rahul and maanvi had turned up on time.

Rahul~ "Sorry everyone, me and my wife didn't knew about this meeting earlier. So we like to offer our sincere apologies to keep you all waiting."

Sponsorer3/Mr. Sharma~ "It's all right Mr. Rahul, please join us. We are aware that we didn't inform you about this meeting beforehand. It was arranged in a rush but I must say that Ms. Payal has handled it quite well."

Sponsorer2/Mr Khurana~ "Now we all are here I think its time to properly enlighten the key points of this meeting and unveil the good news."

Rahul~ "What good news?"

Sponsorer4/Mr. Tiwari~ "We had been discussing new marketing plans for your album ever since the party at sabarwal mansion."

Mr. Khurana~ "After the latest concert hit, its quite apparent that your fans do want to see you two together and not just on album cover or in the news or at live events, but in music videos as well. That way you can market your albums better and approach to a wider fan base."

Mr. Sen~ "We have already selected the songs that we want you both to work on for musical video that will be spread across globally as a premium content.

Mr. Sharma~ "And that's just half of it. We are also here to sign a new album with you both. The details will be kept flexible with the ongoing work on the current projects but this new album would be master work."

Raj was stunned as usually he was always consulted first in these matters, but today he had realized that the members of the committee had left him out of the loop. Raj tries to draw rahul attention "Son, may I have a word please?"

Rahul as a gesture of respect, agreed to speak with raj. "Excuse us please. We would be back in just a moment."

Raj and rahul went to a corner where raj showed his disapproval to this idea by the excuse of not being informed about these decisions. He played the card that it would be wrong to let them set new promotion plans without his proper concent. Rahul knew exactly why raj had issues with this plan.

Rahul~ "Dad, stop making round conversations. I know you don't want me to perform with maanvi, but you know what, I don't care! Maanvi is my wife and she is a talented singer. It would be much better if you just accept this. I will perform with her and if you have issues, that's your problem not mine. All that you can see is your hate and fake greed for money, fame and power. Not once you saw the happiness she brings to my life. Whatever you had to ruin for me before, that's past... now you better not try anything else or I swear I will forget that you are my dad." That threat was as real as it could get.

Raj wanted to speak in his defense but he knew that rahul will no longer pay any heed to his arguments. Since now that even the committee members has rounded him out from participating in any important decision making dicussions, there was no longer any need for him to stay in such meetings. So with whatever dignity he had left, he politely excused himself from this meeting and left.

Maanvi understood by the way raj left and when she wanted to stop him, rahul held her hand to indicate her not to. After raj left, rest of the meeting went on smoothly deciding upon various details regarding the current and new projects.

The end decision was that maanvi's songs will be removed from shaleen's album which will now be a separate project. Her songs will be added with rahul's album instead and the duets will be re-written to better suit to rahul-maanvi's performance. There will be premium content that needs to be top priority because maanvi will stay away from screen time after few weeks.

Payal was entrusted to arrange few dance lesson sessions for rahul maanvi for the performances which maanvi wanted to resist but she agreed to in front of all the members.

When the meeting was over and everyone was done congratulating each other for all the finalized plans and new album signing, all the sponsorers and producers' took their leave. Once rahul, maanvi and payal were left together; rahul offered the ladies to head to a nice restaurant for lunch.

Our trio was famished after hard work so no one had any objections. Twinkle booked them a table at Pebble Street restaurant. Thus our trio left for a great lunch.

Sujoy was thinking about his mistakes and how he treated mala. That's when prithvi had him brought in interrogation room.

Sujoy~ "What now sir? I already told you everything there was to tell. I know nothing else. So go ahead do what you must, I probably deserve it."

Prithvi didn't say anything; just put the envelope in front of him. With the hospital logo on it, sujoy didn't need a second guess that it was left by mala. Sujoy opened it to find some sonography reports and a letter addressed to him.

I must have thought this over just as many times as you by now, that I should forget everything and move on with my life. I have that opportunity as well. I have been offered a new life and new job in one of the popular singing bands that do many tours around the country. They have also allowed me to choose to do off-stage or on-stage performances till my pregnancy. After we are well settled, I can join the band on their tours as well.
This means that I will move to Bangalore next week. Everything has already been arranged for me and it is a new life waiting for me. But I wished to ask you...

Sujoy looked through the reports and saw the scans, his eyes swelled up with tears he could no longer control. It was his baby. He went through the letter over and over. Mala has refered to her life with the baby in many places and she also has offered him a choice that he could take. All he wanted was to make up for all the wrong he did to mala and she was offering it to him.

It was prithvi's hand on his shoulder that brought him back to his present. Sujoy told him how much he hated himself for putting mala in this situation. Prithvi explained to him that life has its ways; it gives chances or it gives lessons. Sujoy is lucky enough to get a chance and he should take it and make the best of it.

Taking his advice, sujoy took the choice to be there with mala for rest of his life and make up for all that he did to her. In coming years, sujoy proved to be a great husband and a loving father. He opened up a new business in Bangalore while mala persued her career in music. Around seven months later after they moved to Bangalore, mala gave birth to a baby girl. Although sujoy was transferred to Bangalore, prithvi still kept tabs on him to ensure that his footsteps do not divert from the path he choose for leading a good life.

That afternoon, Raj was in his office thinking about what rahul said to him during the meeting. It was clear that rahul has not forgiven raj about the tiger curse yet. Raj received a call from the producers' to inform him of the final decisions that were taken in the meeting after he left.

The important decisions being; Shaleen given his album completely as solo one, and maanvi's songs will be moved in with rahul's album,the new album contract with rahul maanvi, some musical video content for albums and other stuff.

The producers were trying to contact Shaleen but his phone was unreachable, thus they requested raj to inform Shaleen of this new development. To keep himself occupied so he don't have to think about his differences with rahul, raj decided to help Shaleen with his album till these differences settles off.

Raj leaves his office to check up on Shaleen and inform him of this new development.

Shaleen was in his room thinking about what the voices said to him.

Nisha~ "Shaleen... Shaleen!..." she shook him to bring him out of his thoughts. "What the hell Shaleen! Main itni der se baat kiye ja rahi hoon aur tum pata nahi kahan khoye hue ho? Meri ek bhi baat suni tumne?"

Shaleen~ "Enough Nisha! Tumhari fizool ki bakwas aur complaints sunne ke alawa bhi bahaut kaam hai mere pass. To mujhe kuch der ke liye akela chod do please." He strated to leave the room. Just when he opened the door, raj appeared. "Dad? Aap yahan? Kuch kaam tha?"

Raj~ "Haan, wo tumhare concert ke bare mein kuch important baat karni thi. If you can come to my office...?"
Shaleen~ "Sure, chaliye dad."

Raj and Shaleen left to raj's office, while Nisha and her over-working head started to build up story about what might be this discussion about. She came up short of any clues so she decided to eavesdrop on them.

In raj's office, raj informed Shaleen about the recent changes with his album which Shaleen approved of. Shaleen liked the idea that his album will be a solo one and when raj offered his help with the promotion and country tour, Shaleen accepted it gladly.

When Shaleen went back to his room, Nisha was waiting for him to fill his head again with her evil ideas.

Nisha~ "Shaleen, you know you are a fool. Tumhe ek bar bhi yeh nahi laga ki tumhare dad jinhone aaj tak kabhi tumhe support nahi kiya, wo aaj achanak tumhare career ko lekar itne supportive kaise ho gaye?"

Shaleen~ "Jo bhi reason ho, wo phir bhi music industry ko humse behtar jaante hain. Isliye mujhe nahi lagta ki abhi apne career ke liye mujhe unse behtar support karne wala milega. So please don't try to drop any ideas that he is planning to cause any harm. Ok?"

Nisha~ "Par Shaleen..."

Shaleen signaled her to shut up and speak no more nonsense as her evil ideas has tendency of getting him into trouble most the times.

Nisha may have held her tongue right now but not attempting to prove her conspiracy theories would be something opposite to her better nature. That is something only time will tell how it fairs for the both of them.
