See sugreeva intellect. He actually offers the wisdom to his brother. A defeated person cannot come back so quick. And bali he ignores warning and tell he will fight. And his failure to understanding what is not seen results in his death. Ram gives Bali visual proof of his brother's wisdom before his death when he asks sugreeva to go second time with garland.this is where ego binds us.we want to believe what is seen. Unwilling to analyze. Committing same mistake again and again. If you don't learn from mistake and change direction circumstances will repeat and one day in that mistake ur end will come. Learn to differentiate learn to analyze. Learn to trust. Learn to forgive. You will know your life will become better.

Bali and Sugreev love each other so much! Wonder who/what poisons Bali... Because Sugreev finds refuge at the same Rishimukh parbat after he is banished from Bali's kingdom. It will be sad to watch.

Shruti - you are correct. Sugreev's advise to Bali was apt. And why not? He has been learning yudh neeti and rann neeti from Gandharv raaj... it is this strategy that will help him fight and win the war against Ravan's armies.

Often wise strategy along with the physical strength is the right combination for success .

Bali ignoring this timely warning / suggestion ends up paying badly.

Shruthi, you said it. Vaali seems to have a huge ego{though not of Ravan's magnitude}and this blinds him to intuition. His ego lessens his mind in its ability to think and act with clarity. It is the same with us humans too, isn't it?A lot of misdemeanors in the society occur due to our ego, self-pride and our arrogance. Our scriptures are full of practical knowledge...if we let go of our ego and try to understand them...can you imagine how sublime our present society could be?

In the Swayamwar not one king could even move the bow till Ram who was devoid of any negative traits not only did manage to lift the Bow but also proved strong enough to break it.

To conclude just a little modification to your post-Learn to trust yourself; Learn to forgive yourself as well as others; Learn to pursue knowledge throughout your life; and most importantly learn to have and keep your faith intact even under most trying conditions...

Thanks Savitha. Learning to trust oneself. Yes that is the big thing we should do. If we can trust overselves we will be able to trust another. If we accept our mistakes and make effort to correct we will understand others also falter at times and if they ask for support to correct the mistake that support should be given.

Sugreev does a mistake, not a crime. He repetedly asks his brother to give a second chance which Bali refuses him. Even in death Mayavi achieves what he wanted with his Maya. Rift between brothers.

Bali could run behind Mayavi an enemy, couldn't he try to see the mistake of his loving brother and give him a chance.

Many times in our ego we make apne ko paraya and believe in gossip mongers and others who does not want any good for us

Shruthi just had a stray thought about maya. The use of Maya in Ramayan is always by the asuras and Ram breaks it in all its forms. But Krishna not only uses and controls it at his will, but also makes us participate in his maya.I remember a story of Narad and Hari. Narad wants to understand about the nature of Maya and Hari instead of explaining in words makes him experience it. He sends Narad for some water to quench his thirst...Narad sees a girl at the river bank, falls in love with her and marries her. After a few years a massive flood occurs and Narad loses his wife, children and his home because of it. He is devastated and questions God on why did it happen to him...Hari with a smile says that he is still waiting for water and Narad finds himself at the place where he had begun his journey without any sign of the flood...He realizes Hari's maya.

Yaa Savitha I know that story. Who said in Ramayana there is no Maya. I guess that is the mistake we make.

The journey of Ram-Sita is Vishnu's Maya. Doesn't Mahadev tell Narayan-Lakshmi ki Leela😃. We understand Krishna's maya because as you rightly said we are part of it.

But in Ramayan he lives the Maya we are onlookers. Look at yesterday's dialogue of Ram. I was thinking how will the plants respond to me if I walk or how would they respond to Lakshman. This is what I love in SKR. Moh Maya of Ram and Ashish seals those scenes beautifully. That twinkle in his eyes when he tells it.

He knows he will have to talk to them. He knows they will give him direction. The way in his journey he cuts sanskriti using prakriti is his maya.

Trusting oneself is very important. When you believe in yourself, you can do even the impossible. With faith, trust and belief, even the impossible becomes possible. Breaking from the shackles of ego is very difficult. But we have to do it for our own good. Pride should also be broken; pride, after all, is another form of ego.We see in the life story of Krishna. He breaks everyone's pride; be it Radha, Rukmini, Satyabhama, Draupadi, Arjuna or Sudharshana. It is always said that God doesn't like pride in people. He always breaks it down. He did it for me too.

The explanation you gave for the difference in the use of Maya in the Ramayana and Mahabharata is the very basis of the difference between the avatars, and the reason for their birth; the purpose of the Rama and Krishna avatars.
