Shared snippets of my thrilling life with Teddy and Ian who recommended that the incident should be immediately immortalized by writing it on Twinkle-Kunj. I whole heartedly agreed because what better way to procrastinate the finals week then by writing really bad fan-fiction, right?
One Shot: Band DarwazaTwinkle and Kunj stepped out their car to find the entire family huddled outside the main doors. They walked up closer to find Bebe and Cherry arguing over the keys.
"Kya hua hai. Aap sab bahar kyun khare ho?" Kunj asked, as Twinkle trailed behind him slowly gathering her dupatta.
"Bebe chabiyaan bhul gaien." Surjeet explained.
"Mein nahi bhuli. Tere puttar naal gal ki thi ke woh chabiyaan le kar nikle ga par woh toh apni hi duniya mein rehta hai, Good for nothing!" She justified herself making the rest of the family smile.
"Anand puttar, tu chabi wale ko dhoond kar la." Surjeet ordered, seating himself on the steps of the house.
"Par Taau ji, abhi kon sa chaabi wala mile ga?" Ananad responded frustrated at being targeted. "Adhi raat tou gazaar chuki hai!"
"Sari chabiya bhi aaj hi bhulni thi." Usha muttered before turning to Twinkle and Kunj who were standing quietly, "Twinkle tumhare pas ghar ki chabi ki copy nahi hai?"
"Nahi mummy ji. Mere pas tou sirf hamare room ki chaabi hai." she replied.
The family heaved a sigh not understanding what to do. The doors were locked and the fences to the back of the house were sealed. Manohar seated himself on the garden chairs outside while Usha and Bebe stared at Cherry angrily for putting them in this compromising situation.
"Aap loog sab mujhe kyun dekh rahe hain. Main thori na kuch kiya." he clarified himself, scratching the back of his head. The grumpiness of his face was replaced by a wide grin suddenly, "Idea!!"
"Kya?" Kunj asked
"Woh kal shed ki saafai ho rahi thi toh wahan se achi khasi moti aur lambi rasi nikle thi. Agar fence ko kud sakein toh aur woh rassi upar balcony mein pheink sakein, toh pher ghar ke andar ghussa ja sakta hai."
"Idea toh accha hai." Bebe applauded thoughtfully, "Khara kyun hai? Ja na pher!"
"Bebe main?" he replied back offended.
"Haan toh mein?" she replied back to which the rest of the family snickered.
"Bebe mera suit kharab ho jaye ga." he whinned.
"Anand, beta tu ja ke dekh na." Usha queried to her eldest son who was sleeping while standing against the wall.
Kunj backed behind his wife before he could be targeted next. "Jhalle hain hammre ghar ke bete." Bebe spoke frustrated.
"Bebe, mein dekhti hoon. Agar mein successful nahi hui toh Bubbly ko call kar lein ge take raat Maa ke haan guzar lein." Twinkle spoke up seeing the tense and sleepy atmosphere around her.
"Beta tu?" Bebe asked surprised.
"Haan. Ghar ki nuuh ko aise kaise hum karne de saktein hain." Surjeet added.
"Haan bhai sahab theek keh rahin hain. Tum nahi kar pao gi." Usha chipped agreeing with the rest.
"Arre isse kaafi experience hain darwazoon ke ilawa har jagah se aane jane ka." Kunj spoke up from behind, yawning and putting his approval over his wife's antics.
"Acha ji?" Cherry inquired curiously
"Haan Cherry bhaiya. Ache waqatoon mein bare karnamein keye hai mein ne!" Twinkle clarified excitedly, "Aap fikar na karo Bebe. Aik dafa bas try karne do!"
The rest of the family members looked at her curiously and nodded as she agreed and gave a go-to signal to Twinkle.
Twinkle pulled the hem of her anarkali up and tied her duppatta around her waist to keep her legs free from the constraint of the skirt. She handed her purse to Kunj who was jumping in glee to see her in action. "Itna khush kyun ho rahe ho?"
"Mera dil, meri marzi." he replied.
"Dekhna Bebe, kya kamaal karti hai yeh." He addressed Bebe who had walked over towards them and received a frustrated glare from her.
Twinkle jumped up to get her feet stuck on the broken pieces of the fence and pulled herself up slowly. She held onto the post of the door and jumped to the opposite side. Her face was scrunched in focus of getting down safely when she noticed all the family members staring at her with wide-eyes while her husband looked like he was silently cheering for her. She smiled awkwardly, as she held onto the post and slowly let herself hang off it and jump on the ground.
Twinkle rushed towards the back and found pieces of wood, ropes and gardening tools lying outside the shed. Her pulled the rope that seemed likely to hold her weight and dragged it by the fence. She picked up the longest piece of wood and tied it around one end of the rope and threw it over to the balcony and twisted the rope after walking into the front yard.
"Twinkle puttar, dheyan se!" Bebe called out to her while she pulled the rope to make sure it was steady.
She nodded in response and then gripped tightly onto the rope and criss-crossed her legs to push herself up. She panicked realizing that the knot of her dupatta around her was it was coming loose and pushed herself violently that the knot fell open completely. She let out a gasp as her dupatta fell down but seeing the rod of the balcony's railings just an inch away, she let her hand reach up and pulled and herself up by pushing on the rope further. It took few minutes for her to slide from in middle of the rods of the railing and step inside the balcony.
She pushed the door towards their bedroom open and pulled the bedroom door open and rushed downstairs.
"Dekha Bebe, maine kaha tha na kar loongi!" she squealed in delight.
"Haan puttar. Ghar ke sare bete toh kisi kam ke nahi. Pher toh tujhe he umeed ki roshni bana tha na." she replied walking in and sitting on the couch. "Tu bhi Kunj. Biwi ko maaze se bhej diya aur shaabash bhi deiya. Shaaram kar."
"Haan tou Bebe jo insaan iss kisim ki harkatein karta ho, experienced ho us se hi aise kam karwane chaiye na!" he replied handing Twinkle her dupatta. She punched his shoulder at his words and shook her head in disapproval.
"Koi Anand ko le ke aya ya woh bahar hi khara so raha hai?" Manohar questioned looking around and not finding his favorite son at hand. At getting no reply, he walked out himself to bring him onside.
"Waise tune agar Bhabhi ji ko aise upar neeche karte dekha hai Kunj, toh kabhi mana kyun nahi kiya?" Cherry questioned taking the glass of water that Usha was offering to everyone.
"Woh.." he stammered and looked at his wife for answers. "Nahi nahi, mana kiya tha jabhi toh aab drawaza use karti hai."
He nodded tiredly as Kunj lamely answered and walked away.
Twinkle grumbled under her breath at his ungratefulness of her husband and stomped off after giving him a dirty glare and wishing everyone goodnight. Kunj smiled slightly and walked up too while the rest of the family members retired to their rooms.
Let alone the long day, the last hour itself had proved to be quite adventurous.
