Breaths halted and heartbeats paced for Arnav Singh Raizada as he saw Khushi walking towards him, dressed up in a ensemble selected by him and professionally enhanced if possible by his sister Anjali. She looked like an angel walking towards him holding the thread of his life as she snatched away every hint of logic and sanity from him.
" Beautiful..."
A husky whisper left his lips involuntarily while Khushi looked at him in an amused manner as he looked like a love-sick puppy to her at that moment. In a normal circumstance, it would have irked Khushi to the core seeing him openly gawking her green chikankari clad self but she felt that it was everything but normal because her senses never grew haywire but now, seeing him eye her as the most precious thing in the whole world.
Khushi clicked her fingers in front of his dazed eyes, snapping him back into the present which seemed to be equally beautiful as his dreams for the first time.
" Aise Cheapo Ke Tarah Kya Dekh Rahe Ho?" Arnav's lips immediately curled into a naughty smirk as she eyed him incredulously.
" Ab Hamari Sapnon Ki Rani Hakeekat Main Hamari Taraf Chali Aa Rahi Thi Tho Itna Tho Banta Hi Tha." A beautiful shade of crimson waltzed over her warm cheeks bringing Arnav's sanity to a total halt. A stream of frenzy fantasies began taking life in his raging mind seeing his love blushing at his words of appreciation for her. It was a sight which we would want cherish throughout his life and would want to replay continuously for it was a breath-taking sight.
" Theek Hai Theek Hai! Shall we do some work now? I need to perfect my look test or all the blame will come to you, mind it!" Arnav raised his hands in surrender as he rolled his eyes for being forced back into the much boring reality and Khushi giggled at the sight inwardly.
" So this scene is about a girl who rejects the boy because she is career-oriented and cannot love anyone because she feels it is a distraction. And if I ask you another favor, will you oblige me by helping me with it?" Arnav was yet again lost in his world but the contradistinction this time being the uncanny resemblance to the scene she was to enact and her real life.
" Just name it.." Just a whisper from his side managed to turn her insides into jelly as Arnav was not the only one who happened to notice the queer conformity of the scene she was to enact and what was going on right now.
" You will have say some of the dialogues. Because if I had gone to give the look test then someone from the set would read out the dialogues but since I am not at the location, someone has to do it. Just wondering if you can do it. Or else I will ask Anjali or Jiji to do it. Voice doesn't matter to them." Arnav felt his heart twitch with pain spreading throughout his body. Maybe this was how actors feel in general to if they were to personate someone in deep anguish. And maybe that was just an excuse which Arnav was offering to himself.
" Sure, Khushi. Anything for you." Khushi flashed a weak smile at Arnav as she handed over her phone for him to look through the dialogues even though some deep voice at the back of her mind reminded her that he didn't need one to express his love for her.
" You will be able to record and speak at the same time right?" Arnav lifted his head up from those confessions of love which she needed him to utter and those which he was ready to utter a hundred times if it meant she would be with him, displaying her warm smile like she was now, forever. Hiding those myriads of feelings drowning him in an ocean of love, he splayed an affectionate smile as he nodded in approval.
" You just have to read them out, no need to modulate your voice or anything, Arnav. That would be more than enough." Khushi walked to her position which had good lighting and neutral background, while something clutched her heart hard and strong. Something very powerful, more powerful than her senses: the reality of the situation.
There was no nervousness in her, it was just anxiety. Anxiety of impersonating something so true and so real; anxiety of being just her not a character for the character was her; anxiety of listening to his lovefilled confessions, yet again but most of all the anxiety of rejecting him and his love.
Ek Phool Tehri Se Toota Khel Khel Mein
Rang Gayi Main Tho Rang Kisi Ke Khel Khel Mein
The next 120 seconds, the duration of the look test video was a blur. The brain couldn't understand a single thing on what was happening because it was a play of hearts, which only a heart can understand. Arnav poured in all the love possible into his confessions while every feeling hidden in the deep and dark abyss of her heart made out of her heart in a heart-wrenching manner.
" Arnav Bitua?" A voice greeted their ears just as Arnav decided to stop the video recording, making him turn around to face the source of the voice.
" Namaskar Kavita Kaki. Khushi, this is Kavita Kaki, Maa's friend." Khushi smiled at the elder lady as she promptly greeted her formally.
" Tho Yeh Hai Khushi. Jeete Rahiye. Kya Kar Rahe Ho Aap Doni Itni Garmi Main?" Khushi didn't like the tone of her statement but chose to be quiet given that she was Arunima's friend and she didn't want to offend her in the first meeting at least.
" Woh Kaki, Khushi Ki Look Test Ke Liye Recording Kar Rahe The. Woh Audition Deke Ayi Thi Aur Select Ho Gayi Tho Unhone Recording Bhejne Ke Bola Tha. Bas Wahi Ho Raha Tha." Arnav could sense the younger lady's discomfort under the elder one's suspicious gaze and hence moved a bit forward to divert Kavita's attention which indeed seem to falter at his movement.
" Achcha Hai Ji! Pehle Raizada Khandan Ke Ladke Ko Pataya Ab Usse Apna Kam Bhi Karva Rahi Ho. Waise Tumhare Maa Ne Nahi Sikhaya Tumhe, Achche Ghar Ki Ladkiyan Woh Bhi Shaadi Shuda Ladkiyan Acting Nahi Karti?" Kavita's taunts made Khushi's eyes turn red with both anger and tears. But before she could offer her a fitting reply, she found Arnav doing the honors on her behalf,
" If there is anyone to blame in this whole situation then it is not the person you are pointing to Kavita Kaki. It is me. I had played with her life, that marriage happened due to me and she was forced to accept it, and the redemption for inflicting that pain on someone still torments me. She had not asked me to fall for her, in fact she didn't want to. I had fallen for her and forced her to be with me. And Kyun Na Kare Woh Acting? Meri Ek Galti Ne Uski Duniya Badal Di Aur Main Uske Liye Apne Sapno Ko Sach Karne Tak Ka Help Nahi Kar Sakta? You are saying she shouldn't be acting as she is married, then how doesn't it strike to you that it is the duty of a husband to make his wife's dreams his own and support her? I see no wrong in helping her or in what she is doing and if you see, then I beg your pardon, but I think it is your problem, Kaki."
Everything else seemed beclouded as she eyed Arnav with admiration rising deep from her heart as he stood for her like no one ever did. Her own mother succumbed to the society's taunts and made her take a decision which was against her will and the man whom she herself taunted stood against the society who blamed her. The admiration she had for him increased ten-fold that very moment. She saw Kavita leaving and along with her the prejudices she held against him left her.
Was Khushi in love with Arnav?

I swear I will not update anything if I don't get a good response. I put so much of hardwork in writing this update which proved to be difficult than I thought and I deserve a good response. -_- *ASR STYLE*
