Hrithik hacked into my email account:- Kangana

Mumbai: In a statement recorded by cyber crime cops on Saturday, actor Kangana Ranaut has claimed that it was fellow actor Hrithik Roshan who hacked into her email account. The development was confirmed by Kangana's lawyer Rizwan Siddiquee.

The statement was recorded by cops probing a complaint filed by actor Hrithik Roshan of an imposter who sent mails from a fake email account in his name.

In a statement following the development, Siddiquee said the actor recorded her statement along with her sister Rangoli. "The police were extremely happy to get more information from my clients and learn new things, which were not mentioned by Hrithik in his FIR. Going forward, a lot of things will unfold and even the aim and objective of why Hrithik was circulating a private report to the media to clear his name, would become obvious."

Siddiquee further alleged that it would now also become apparent why in his earlier informal complaint, Hrithik had not named Kangana and had lied. "The reasons for delay in lodging the FIR by Hrithik have become more clear now. The statements were recorded between 5pm and 8pm," he added.

The cyber crime cops were to visit Ranaut's residence the previous Monday, April 18, to record her statement and inspect her computer and electronic devices, but had postponed the visit after her lawyer had said she was not available.

In his FIR, the actor said that on May 24, 2014, at a party hosted by Karan Johar for his birthday, "Ranaut met me and thanked me for appreciating her work in the movie 'Queen'." He told her he had not even seen the film and when she told him about his reply to her mails, he had told her that that was not his account. The actor had filed the FIR on March 25 about impersonation under the Information Technology Act and an offence of cheating under the Indian Penal Code against an unknown person. He had filed a complaint to cops in December 2014 about the alleged imposter but mentioned that it was his "fans" because "he had not wished to tarnish anyone's image," the complaint stated. Hrithik's advocate Dipesh Mehta did not respond to calls or messages on the development.
