Woohoo I'm caught up again! what a whirlwind! Glad to see family ties becoming stronger and the bad guys getting what they deserve! Poor Shaleen. I really feel for him. Panic attacks are no joke. I'm glad Nisha and Shaleen are finally seeing the light. Avanti on the other hand will only be seeing padded white walls LOL!

Chapter 31

Rahul and maanvi were driving back towards home. Rahul could feel the ten different kinds of pain maanvi was going through. He pictures the best ways to help her ease. Soon they reached home, he looks at her as she was still playing the memory from the hospital, and she didn't even notice that they have reached home.

Rahul slowly puts his hand on her shoulder "Maanvi, hum ghar aa gaye."

Maanvi looks out to notice he is right. She unbuckles her seat belt and gets out of the car. They both silently make their way to their room. Once inside, rahul closes the door. Then he makes maanvi sit next to him. He brushes her hair but she takes no notice. He gently hugs her.

This brings maanvi to finally make full notice of her present. His hug was enough to bring the tears she was holding since the hospital. She curled up in his arms as he firmed his arms around her. They stayed like this for quite some minutes. Once maanvi stopped crying, rahul spoke softly.

"Maanvi, you will always be loved, never forget that. You father loves you, he may show disapproval but he will get past it. Whatever happened, it wasn't your fault; I was the one who asked you to sing with me. So you don't have to worry as I will talk to baba again. He will forgive you."

He looked at her; she was already asleep in his arms. He brushed her hairs, kissed her on her forehead. Carefully lifts her not to wake her up and puts her on the bed, tuck her under sheets, then goes to sleep as well.

In few hours, it was a bright morning. Rahul woke up and turns around to find maanvi sleeping like a baby. He decides to take a shower before waking her up. Few minutes later, maanvi wakes up. Everything from last night was all foggy as she didn't remember most of it after they left hospital. She starts to think about what happened last night when her phone buzzed. She checks the number on it, it was from shilpa. She takes the call.

"...Manobi..." it was upamanyu on the other end. Hearing him call her name, maanvi filled with emotions.

Maanvi~ "Baba..."

Upamanyu~ "Are manobi... tum ro raha hai? Tum humari wajah se ro raha hai? Are tum janta hai apne baba ko. Tumhara baba apne manobi se kitna pyaar karta hai, tum phir bhi rota hai? Hum kal jo kiya wo galat kiya, aur hum uske liye apni manobi se maafi mangane ke liye phone kiya. Ab tum aise royega to hum samjhe ga ki tumne apne baba ko maaf nahi kiya."

Maanvi~ "Baba... aap maafi mat mangiye. Maine bhi to aapko diya wada toda tha na?"

Upamanyu~ "Usme tumhari galti nahi hai beta. Tab hum hi rahul ko galat samjha tha. Par kal jab tumhari maa humko samjhaya, tab hum samjha. Humne rahul ko galat samjha tha. Aur agar tum rahul ke saath gaata hai, to humko bahaut kushi hoga. Acha tumhara maa puch raha hai ki tum dono abhi aayega na milne? To aate samay humare liye rasgulla bhi lete aana."

Then came the voices from behind. It sounded like shilpa scolding upu over his request for rasgulla and something about doctor told him to take it easy on sticky and sweet stuff.

Maanvi wipes her tears as a smile crossed her lips hearing the cute conversations from other side of the phone. Upu gives his regards for rahul as well and disconnects the call before shilpa scolds him further for any new requests he could make about food.

Maanvi turns around to see rahul smiling at her. He heard most of the conversation and was happy that things wer getting better between maanvi and her father. She headed towards the bathroom to get freshen up as well, but she was caught by rahul who pinned her to the wall.

They shared a brief eye lock, rahul shake his wet hairs to sprinkle some water drops on maanvi. This made close her eyes, turn her face a little and smile. Just then rahul kissed her on her cheeks, making her blush as well.

The knock on the door made them part away. Maanvi went in to get freshen up, while rahul answered the door. It was Chotu with the morning hot tea and some fruits for maanvi as ordered by dadi. Rahul informed him that he and maanvi will be heading to hospital first so they might be late for breakfast.

Once maanvi was ready, they helped themselves to a light snacks and headed to the hospital to meet maanvi's family.

A few hours later when rahul maanvi returned from the hospital, rest of the sabarwals were gathered in the hall after their breakfast. The discussion was over the last night's incident at the concert. Nikhil had narrated how Avanti took him to prop room and locked him inside.

Raj on the other hand was furious over letting Nikhil come to the concert in the first place. Payal was stuck with all the blames due to the absence of rahul and maanvi till now. As soon as rahul and maanvi entered the hall, raj's blame gun finds a new target; maanvi.

Raj~ "Aiye, aiye... aa gaye aap dono. Aap dono ko to fikar bhi nahi hai ki kal Nikhil ke saath kya hua aur kya ho sakta tha. Bas nikal gaye ghumne subah subah. Kya main pooch sakta hoon ki aap dono itni subah kahan gaye the?"

Rahul~ "Hospital gaye the. Aur Nikhil ki chinta hai hume. Kal raat hum sab Nikhil ke saath hi the. Wo theek hai. To itna over react karne ki zaroorat nahi hai."

Raj~ "Haan. Wo theek hai. Aur agar wo ghar par hota to kuch hone ke chances bhi nahi hote."

Nikhil~ "Par dad. Galti meri hai, maine hi zid kit hi concert mein jaane ke liye. Mere class ke baaki sab friends concert mein jaate hain, to phir main kyun nahi?"

Raj~ "Theek hai. Agar galti tumhari hai to sazaa bhi tumhe hi milegi. Agle ek mahine tak... fast food, party, and pocket money... sab band. You are grounded for a month!" he paused for a moment before addressing rest of the family members. "Aur iss bare mein, main ab koi argument nahi sunuga." He gets up and leaves for work.

Once raj was gone, dada ji took the incharge of rest of the conversation.

Dada ji~ "Jo hua uss par baat karne se acha yeh hota ki hum yeh baat karein ki avanti ne aisa kyun kiya? Wo aur uski family ke humse ache business relations hain. To wo Nikhil ke saath aisa kyun karegi?"

Payal~ "Rahul ke liye."

That came as a shock for everyone in the room, except Nisha and shaleen who were aware of this. Payal enlightened her conversations with Avanti and what she noticed in her nature. The only explaination for yesterday's series of incidents with Nikhil and maanvi was that Avanti has not gotten over with what happened during the marriage.

Sonali~ "Agar aisa kuch tha to Nisha ko pata hota. They are best friends!"

Seeing herself being dragged into cross-hairs, Nisha had no other option but to make up story so that she can save her skin.

Nisha~ "Actually, I noticed the change in her behavior after we found out about maanvi's pregnancy. In front of me she used to act all normal. Even if there was any anomaly whenever she saw maanvi, I thought its maybe because she was angry that rahul choose maanvi over her. In my opinion, that seemed normal for someone who has been walked out on in her own marriage by the groom."

Nisha was convincing enough so she was let off the hook for now.

Sonali~ "Which still brings us to what happened yesterday. If what we know now is true, Avanti is dangerous and unstable. We should file a complaint against her for her attempt to harm Nikhil and maanvi."

Just then, Chotu notified of Mr. Talwar's visit. Mr. Talwar was here to appoligize for yesterday's fiasco on avanti's behalf. He presented the doctor's reports and recommendation about avanti's recent medical condition. He also informed that he wishes to take her away to a different country for treatment. In order to be able to do so peacefully and without any problems, he requested that sabarwal's do not file any complaint against Avanti.

Rahul for one was angry at Avanti for trying to hurt maanvi but after hearing Mr. Talwar, he felt sorry for him. He blamed himself as the person to have pushed Avanti to her present condition. Maanvi understood this. With assurance from sabarwal family, Mr. Talwar left knowing that he can now take his daughter away for treatment. They will not be heard from for a long time.

Everyone went back to attend to their regular stuff. Nisha went back to her gossip group after taking a breath of relief. Shaleen went to office to find a way to fix his lost image in front of Raj and producers. Payal and Nikhil went to their rooms to get ready for their daily routine. Dada ji returned to his usual time with his classical music instruments, dadi ji and Sonali went to their rooms, whereas maanvi and rahul returned to their room asking Chotu to bring some breakfast for them.

This time, rahul was upset for being the reason for everything that happened with Avanti and that could have happened to Nikhil and maanvi after concert. He was pacing around the room.

Maanvi stopped rahul, cupped his face in her hands, and said "Rahul, it's not your fault."

Rahul~ "It is my fault maanvi. I knew how I felt for you long before. When you told me about your engagement with sujoy and that you were soon getting married, I was heart broken. In that spur of moment, I proposed to Avanti. Even then I knew that I was doing wrong, that I could not live with my life like this and who ever else I would marry, will also suffer. I still did it maanvi. Had I not, Avanti might still be fine."

Maanvi~ "Rahul, we can never know what could be or could not have been had the things go down differently. If you had married Avanti, you would have been suffering, Avanti would be suffering as well because you would not have been able to give her the place in you life as your wife, and I would be suffering at the hands of sujoy, the person who tried to kill my father, did ill to mala and who knows what else."

Rahul~ "But if I had not proposed to Avanti?..."

Maanvi made him sit down and sat next to him. "I share the blame just as you then."

Rahul looked at her, confused by what she just said.

Maanvi continued "You were right to ask me if I loved the man I was getting engaged to. At that time I myself had not figured out what I felt. I was at war with myself. All that my baba had told me about you, all that I saw..."

Rahul~ "What did you saw?"

Just then Chotu knocked at the door, he had brought their breakfast. Once Chotu left, rahul caught maanvi again.

Rahul~ "Bolo na maanvi... kya dekha tumne?"

Maanvi hesitates "Jaane do rahul. Kuch nahi dekha."

Rahul~ "Bolo na." he insisted.

Maanvi~ "jab main audition ke liye aayi thi tab main ek ladki ko tumse gale milte hue dekha tha. Phir concert ki success party mein tum commissioner ki wife ke saath..."

Rahul~ "OYE! For your kind information, wo mere zabardasti gale pad rahi thi."

Maanvi~ "To mujhe kaise pata chalega ki wo zabardasti gale pad rahi thi."

Rahul smirked "Ab itna bada rockstar jab saamne aata hain na, tab har ladki zabardasti gale lagti hai. Tumko to aadat ho jaani chahiye ab tak."

Maanvi~ "Itna bhi koi khaas rockstar nahi hai." She started to get up.

Rahul pulled her and she fell in his lap. "Bataun abhi?"

Maanvi flirtingly "Kya bataoge?"

Rahul got closer to her, she closed her eyes submitting to a kiss.

Thanks Cathy for nice update. I always wanted CVs to show us such talks between Rahul and Maanvi where Maanvi tells him about her old incidents with him like Commissioner's wife incident in the party, then he saving her from well thinking she is on suicide mission and the pepper spray incident.. That would be so nice. Atleast you gave me one of those incidents.. Thank you.
