Well inertia be dammed ... such sublimely good writing deserves a post ... deserves a dedication ... So i was watching the show like everyday ... expecting some good stuff ... fun ... romantic ... drama ...but did not expect BRILLIANCE ... so first of all .. take a bow writers ...
A young guy waiting by the way side for hours for his friend/ Lady love... & when she comes late .. her very presence wit him is reward enuf for him .. he does not berate her .. but gently reminds her of his presence ...
CUT to tonite .. he is waiting yet again for her ... but unlike last time ... she knows he is waiting for her .. she wants to go to him ... but circumstances don't help ... but somehow she thwarts all odds & goes to him ...
Same to same right ... but look at the difference ... THE DIFFERENCE is the EHSAS ... the last time around she shrugs of her tardiness ... this time she is aware of her tardiness ... The word which crops up in ones mind is EHSAS ...
So she is sucking her mango as she casually walks up to him ... trying to act like SUMO ..the one who dint care ... but but but .. he has seen Suman now ... her nonchalance will not work anymore ... So he walks up to her ... cups her cheek in his hand caressingly removes the STAIN on her face ... ( whoa did i give away to much here 😳) ...
She is blown away ... with his nearness ... the thot that crops in the mind is EHSAS ...
Then he asks for the one thing he wants ... he says ... we can't be apart cause the one thing that binds us is ... DUNIYA KA SABSE KHOOBSURAT EHSAS ,,,,,,
Time to pause here ... what is the duniya ka sabse khoobsurat ehsas ... we all know that ( yash chopra has told us often enuf ) ... it is LOVE ... but he pauses & tells her DOSTI ...
lets pause here a bit ... why did he say DOSTI ... cause Love was something which could be thwarted ... but friendship remained .. as in their case ... they met after 10 long years ... but the moment they met what they remembered about each other were the sweet moments of friendship that they spent together ... go back to each & every FB ... it is all about FRIENDSHIP & TOGETHERNESS ... even when he writes his first love letter to her ... he asks her .. IS THIS LOVE ... i don't know .. all i know is that i want to be with you for life ...
So duniya kya sabse khoobsurat EHSAS ... DOSTI ... ofcourse ... DOSTI .. cause it was that time that SHRAVAN was happy .. Their friendship was a happy period for him ... it was a beautiful period for him .. the best days of his life
Just like Suman told him at her old home a few days back ... the distance between the two ... caused her LONELINESS ...
So Mr. Perfect just obliterated LONELINESS from Suman's life forever .. by pledging his friendship to her for LIFE ...
This writer wonders .. whats the need for love confession after this ... could anything be more beautiful than the emotion the two shared on the terrace today ... could any marriage 7 vachans have any more meaning than what these two pledged to each other tonite ... could putting a mangal sutra mean any more of a commitment than when they solemnly shook hands & pledged forever to each other ...
Cause she was the cause of his Happiness ... & he was the cause of obliterating her loneliness ... isn't that what marriage is all about ...
Now for the moment in this episode which took it to brilliance .. from the get go . EDKV to me has been all about the nuances ... from the episode 1 what caught me were the subtle nuances ... but tonites nuance took this serial to brilliance levels .. ok ok i am getting carried away . here goes lemme try to explain .. & cut the hyperbole ..
Shravan comes very close to Suman as he speaks about the sabse khoobsurat EHSAS ... Suman lets him invade her space .. (noteworthy is .. she has not yet pushed him away when he has come that close to her ... nor has she stepped away from him)... but the moment he utters the word DOSTI ... ( when she was expecting something else .. mayhap Sumo is watching Yash chopra as well) ... she gets up & steps away from him ...
Now in isolation u may not give this small nuance any credence ... but link it to what happens in Sumo's room later when she is being interrogated by her aunts ... she is dumb struck .. with only a smile on her face ...
So lets draw the links ... DOSTI ... she is stumped .. her mind even after all this is stuck on that word ... But she was expecting something else .. kiss ... or maybe LOVE ... its all a jumble in her mind .. which was churning ever since Preeta brought in the kiss angle ... now the churn gets even more severe ... coz whoa .. its all about Status quo for them . it was about writing off 10 years ( another brilliant touch was bringing in the younger shravan & suman here) .. & starting afresh ... but she had moved ON .. she was not in the friend zone at all ...
Then she is handed a pic of them ... she in his arms .. both looking lost in each other ... he holding her tenderly ... she smiles ... YEA DOSTI ... sure ... the confusion churns even more ... cause they say ... a picture is worth a thousand words ... the words DOSTI ... & that tender hold were speaking 2 different words ... how soon she draws the obvious conclusion is yet to be seen ...
But she is unable at that moment to articulate .. WE ARE JUST FRIENDS ...
To me this was a mark of brilliance .. she moved away from him to process what he had uttered ... he shud not be in her space if he was just a friend ,,,, but destiny landed her back in his zone .. in his arms ...
pause here for a bit .. let the title song reverberate in ur mind .. MIL JAATE HAI JO BANE ... EK DUJE KE VAASTE ...
Its a firm hats off to the maker & writer of the show ... brilliant does not do u justice tonite ...
The one lingering thot in my mind as the episode ended was ... is every character in this show going to be playing cupid to this young love ... if thats so .. then IMHO this story & its story teller will be beyond brilliant ...
