The Conservatives have unveiled plans to make it easier for parents and charities to set up their own schools in deprived parts of England. Your views on the proposals?
Shadow Schools Secretary, Michael Gove, says the Tory proposal would help to create more than 200,000 places at state-funded independent schools and drive up standards.
Planning rules would be loosened allowing groups such as charities and concerned parents to set up schools more easily.
The government argues its existing academies programme is already working well and the NASUWT teachers' union says the Tory plan will create social segregation and chaos.
Would you consider helping to create a new school? Are you a parent who has already set-up an academy? Do you think the proposals would drive up standards or be socially divisive?
