Chapter- 1

Khushi stood rooted to her place numbly.. Her senses had like stopped working as she saw d person in front of herself after six long months!

"Khushi, he is my partner cum frnd.. Arnav.." Rehan introduced her..

Arnav came forward wid slow steps nd extended his hand towards her..

"Hyee Khushi.." He said..

Khushi's heart sank in grief! Dat charming face which used lighten up her days, looked so pale today..

In no time, she went running back to her home as tears unstopablly flowed down her cheeks.. She slammed d door behind nd landed on d bed, clutching d bedsheet in her palms..

Other side, Rehan stood all confused.. He was clueless abt why Khushi reacted dat way!

"Rehan, is Khushi here??" Arnav asked..

"Umm..no Arnav.. Actually, she is very sensitive.. Probably knowing abt ur lost eye-sight, she got emotional.. I'll just be back, okay.."

Rehan helped Arnav to sit on d sofa, then went to Khushi..

As he entered their bedroom, he found her lying on d bed nd crying her heart out.. Her cries nd snifffs were bitter enough to make him feel bad..

But why?? Why was she crying dat bitterly??

He sat near her nd softly caressed her hair..

"Khushi, wat happened??"

She sprang wid his mere touch over her hair nd wiped her tears away..

"Khushi, why r u crying??" He asked again..

Khushi continued to sniff, then finally gathered her words as she knew she wud hav to give some reason to Rehan..

"Ur frnd...his eyes.."

She stammered..

"Yeah..he lost his eyes in an accident.. But u dnt need to feel this bad for him.."

"I m sorry bt.. I cudnt control.. Rehan, he is ur business partner?? How does he handle d work widout being able to evn see anything??"

"Khushi, if god took away his eyes frm him, he gave him a beautiful partner in return.. U knw, his wife helps him.."

Khushi felt a huge pang! Did she just hear 'his wife'??

Was Arnav married??

She shut her eyes tight as she felt her tears ready again to stream out!

She took a deep breath n said:

"Rehan, how do u know him?? I mean..how did u both meet??"

"We were together in college.. After dat we got placements in companies.. But both of us were of d same thought.. We wanted to be employers, not employees.. So, we decided to start a business in partnership.. We earned enough being employees, then invested all our savings in our business..

But unfortunately, six months back, just a month later after we started our business, he met an accident nd lost his eye-sight.."

Khushi heard everything widout uttering any word.. It was like Rehan was opening d pages of her past once again...d very same past which her heart n her mind were still living with!

Rehan looked at her only to find her in tears again..

"Khushi, u really dnt need to feel so bad for him.. Come on nw... We need to go there.. Arnav nd his wife are waiting for us.."

"U go.. I'll just wash my face nd come.."

Rehan agreed nd left, while Khushi sat on d floor all devastated.. Rehan just knew abt d accident.. He just knew dat Arnav had a beautiful partner..

But little did he know dat behind d smile Arnav's face always had, there was a big pain hidden!

She didnt know wat exactly she was crying at...was it becoz she met Arnav after so long?? Or becoz she was unable to bear his condition??

Was it bcoz he was married or was she crying on her fate?? The fate which had once again made her to stand in front of her past..

D difference was dat, in d past she cud shout out to d whole world dat he was hers...but today, she was married nd Arnav too! Inspite of being in front of each other, they were miles away!

And this wasnt d end! Her husband had him as a business partner nd as his best frnd too! Then on d top of all, they were neighbours..

Rehan nd Arnav had purchased two bunglows adjascent to each other.. Moreover, they shared a common garden now!

How on this earth cud she keep herself away frm Arnav now?? Though she never wanted to, her fate was compelling her to!

Suddenly, her phone rang up pulling her out of d pool of thoughts..

"Hello.." She said clearing her throat..

"Khushi, I m Shreya, Arnav's wife.."

Khushi went numb again.. How should she had reacted to this??

Still, she took a deep breath nd spoke up..

"Oh hye, Shreya.. I m sorry to be bothering u.. I'll be there in a minute.."

"Great! Dats wat I called u for.. everyone is waiting.."

They hanged d call and Khushi shut her eyes again to stop d tears frm flowing out..

She washed her face thoroughly nd went back to Arnav's home, somehow keeping a control on her emotions.. She decided dat she wont let Arnav's know abt her presence there..
