Kahani Terrii Merrii, is a love story that revolves around the lives and travails of Dhruv and Tara. The story begins when Dhruv (played by Manav Gohil) returns from America only to find out the harsh reality about his father's second relationship. Amidst all the trauma and pain he meets and falls in love with Tara (played by Tina Parekh). Several misunderstandings arise between the young lovers, but love finally triumphs and they get married. After marriage, Tara discovers that Dhruv has a drinking problem, which leads to friction between the newly wed couple than they moved to London for Dhruv's happiness. After four years of their marriage they are blessed with two daughters Krishnatulsi and Prachi, both girls are raised in London, but one day Tara gets a call from her cousin sister Mayuri who informs her that Dhruv's mother is suffering from cancer and desires to meet her granddaughters Katie and Prachi. How will Dhruv react to this news? Will Dhruv break his promise in letting his family go to India among those people who he left behind twenty-three years ago?

Dhruv played by Manav Gohil

Dhruv is the scion of the Chakraborthy family, who are renowned industrialists. A warm and affectionate Dhruv, once exposed to the harsh reality that prevails within his family turns cynical and hostile towards his loved ones. Traumatized and hurt by these revelations, Dhruv suddenly finds himself falling in love with Tara. The story goes on to unfold the villainous garb of an alcoholic caught in the web of guilt, pain and confusion. Afterwards he moves to London with his wife Tara than four years later they were bless with two girls Krishnatulsi and Prachi.

Tara played by Tina Parekh

The protagonist of the story is Tara; A 22-year-old bubbly, chirpy girl who has come back to her family in Calcutta where she falls in love with Dhruv. Tara epitomizes a heart moving portrayal of a woman blessed with the determination to keep her marriage afloat, until her patience is tested to the limits for herself and her daughters Katie and Prachi.

Krishnatulsi played by Mouni Roy

Eldest daughter of Dhruv and Tara, raised in London with respect for others, treats everyone equally same as herself. Loves her younger sister Prachi so much that she can't tolerate any tears in her eyes, both sisters are emotionally attached to their parent especially Katie is attached to her father Dhruv.

Prachi played by Panchi Bora

Youngest daughter of Dhruv and Tara; raised in London with respecting others and sometime can be stubbornness like her mother. Indeed both sisters are emotionally attached to each other and their parents especially Prachi is attached to her mother more than her father.

Ananya played by Shama Deshpande: Dhruv's mother

Shonarbala played by Ruma Sengupta: Dhruv's grandmother and Shudhendu's mother.

Kajol played by Urvashi Dholakia: Debashish's wife, eldest daughter-in-law of Shudhendu and Ananya.

😭 I think no one liked the summary but I hope people will like the first part. I know that character I have chosen arn't popular like Angad-Kripa, Jai-Bani, Sujal-Kashish, and many more but please welcome Mouni Roy as Krishnatulsi and Panhci Bora as Prachi, but I promise you guys after the young gernation males entery you will love this serial. -For the first time I wanted to try something different please support me friends. Part One

The serial opens with the Chakraborthy family performing a Pooja. Shudhendu and his wife Ananya are celebrating the return of their second son Dhruv from London with his family. While Dhruv was boarding the flight with his family he remembers how his wife convinced him to go India only for his mother Ananya.

Flashback: One Dhruv returns from work

Dhruv came home late night from his meeting Tara stayed up all night for his return soon as Dhruv opens the main door Tara comes running into his arms with tears.

"Tara, what's the matter?" Said by Dhruv

Tara whispered in his ears: Dhruv your mother is badly sick that she desire, to see her granddaughters.

Dhruv shell shocked "Tara you know very well that it's not possible –but why Dhruv… you know your mother loves you a lot than why can't we go to India with our daughters? Said by Tara

"Tara you know the reason very well than why are you arguing with me?" Said by Dhruv (walks up to his room)

Tara followed Dhruv up to their bedroom and again brought up the topic "why can't they go India?" This time Dhruv was burning with anger that he slapped Tara across her face.

Three days passed by hardly both couples won't talk to each other so the girls plan something mischievous for the night. Katie had called her father early morning at work informing him to meet her at Green-Hill-View Garden for dinner after discounting with her father she hands the phone over to her sister Prachi who called her mother at home from school saying "Mom can you meet me at Green-Hill-View Garden for dinner around 8:30pm" on the side Tara said "as you wish beta" Prachi gave high-five to her sister Katie saying "Mom you are the best I love you…bye mom" Prachi hangs up the phone and hugs Katie saying "I hope this plan works out for Mom and Dad" "Same here" Said by Katie.

After lunch Katie hanged out with her friends Sam, Vince, Casie, and Mohini while Prachi was inside her chem.-class. Katie shopped around the huge City Centre Mall for a small gift for the couple who will make up by the evening. During Prachi's chem.-class her teacher Mr. Bose came up to her and gave her a note saying –go down to Mrs. Jen's cabin right after this class. (Mrs. Jen is the principle of the Green Dale High School who hates all brown kid especially the Chakraborthy girls who thing they are smarter than her daughter Pam.)

Quart to 8:30 Tara reaches the restaurant that was down the street from their house. Tara was dressed in a modern evening gown looked like the one in this picture but it was black. all the people at the restaurant stared at her but Tara didn't care because she had her mangalsutra on along with her sindoor on her forehead. Soon as Dhruv step inside the restaurant he was drooling over Tara's beauty. Tara also admired him dressed in his black suit with dark pink shirt inside his suit that she bought for him on his birthday. Dhruv walked over to her table and asked if he could sit there even Tara allowed him to sit there until Prachi would come. Three minutes later Tara gets a call from Prachi saying "Mom sorry I can't come there so enjoy dinner with Dad" even Dhruv gets a call from Katie saying "Daddy sorry I can't come down there for dinner so enjoy dinner with Mom" both couples figured out this was their plan to bring them back together.

During the evening Dhruv understood why Tara was forcing him to go India because his mother needs him right now before it's too late. Dhruv placed a smile and kissed Tara on her cheek saying "honey if you didn't force me to listen to you than I wouldn't have realized that my mother needs me, but we are only going India for my mother not for Mr. Shudhendu Chakraborthy. Tara also understood Dhruv reason not to go India because he doesn't want our daughters to find out about their grandfather's extra marital affaire. (In these twenty-three years, Dhruv never talked about his family toward anyone especially to Katie and Prachi who never been to India).

Part Two

Recap: Pass three days Dhruv and Tara had a huge argument over "why can't they go India?"

The entire passenger came out of the flight into Mumbai's airport did their immigration even though Dhruv and Tara are born in India they also had to do immigration all over along with their daughters. Krishnatulsi was observing the airport it was quit big and quiet in the morning usually it would be loud and noise according to Mom even Prachi was observing the airport along with Katie. Both girls were already homesick from the long journey especially Prachi who curses her mother for bring them India.

Flashback Two: Tara breaks the news to the girls…

Eight hours later Dhruv and Tara returned home from their beautiful candle-light dinner. Dhruv looked all over the house for his daughters but they were no where to be found afterwards Dhruv calls Katie on her cell-phone.

"Hi Dad"
"Katie, where are you guys?"
"Dad I can't hear you… … … hello Dad…Dad…Dad… (Katie was loosing connection on the dance floor so she leaves the dance floor toward the small garden near by the pub) Sorry Dad about the network problem anyways me, and sis are at Katie Swartz's 18th birthday party at a pub"
"Alright beta, but come home soon before 3 in the morning or else your mother will have a hear-attack if she finds out that you guys are at a pub."
"Of course Dad and don't worry I won't cross my limits in drinking (Katie also have a bad drinking habit like her father, but she shares everything with her dad openly without any fear)"
"I trust you my daughter and make sure you keep an eye on your sister who also have drinking problem like us"
"Alright Dad
Bye
Love you"
"Love you too Beta"

Dhruv hangs up the phone and turns around finding Tara standing right in front of him with anger. Dhruv asked her "what's the matter?" in return she said "look at your daughters they both have your bad habits."
Dhruv: What bad habits? (Sweating like hell)
"Dhruv, why are you sweating? It's not like your daughters' have drinking problem like you" Soon as he heard Tara's statement he wipes his sweat than says "what do you mean by bad habits?" Tara places her arms on his neck saying "I mean they have your bad habits in cleaning up their rooms, look at it, its full of mess like you" Dhruv placed a small peck on Tara's forehead than said "you can't blame them for having my bad habits –its your fault for giving them so much freedom that they are so irresponsible"… … …. …. …. "It's my fault they are so irresponsible girls that can't even cook proper Indian food or fold their laundry. For your kind information Mr. Dhruv Chakraborthy your daughters are so spoiled because of your love." To make Tara more madder he said "its, not their fault that they love me more than you especially Katie –oh yes Katie is your life that you almost forgot to pick your wife up from the mandir." Said by Tara

Back to the pub the girls were enjoying themselves that they loss in track of how many drinks they had. After awhile Katie started dancing on her favourite song: called where the party tonight from Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna. Afterwards Sam drops Katie and Prachi home along with Casie and Vince. Dhruv stayed up in the living-room waiting for the girls to return because he told Tara that they were at Casie's place studying on their history exam. Dhruv was in deep thoughts when he heard the door bell ring, Dhruv open the door and asked Vince and Sam to take the girls into their room before their mother wakes up.

Next Morning

Next morning the girls wake up with massive hangover that Katie could not even stand up on her feet. Before Tara wakes up Dhruv made girls huge glass of lemon-maid that helped them with their hangover Prachi with concern asked her Dad "what he said to Mom?" Dhruv sat beside the girls and placed a small peck on their forehead saying "don't worry gals I told your mother that you guys were at Casie's place studying for a history exam" Both girls at same time said "thanks Dad" after Dhruv leaves the girls get up and starts getting dress for mandir because they love going there even though they are British born. Both girls came down wear black churidar, both girls hugged their mother saying sorry about last night even Tara cared less because she trustees her daughters more than herself. Before they went to the mandir girls sat down beside their father and waited for the big news their Mom was going to say…

"Mom we are waiting for the big news" Said by Katie
"Yeah Mom" Said by Prachi

Dhruv closed his eyes because he was scared if his daughter won't understand him. Tara takes a deep breathe than says "Girls me, and your father have been thinking of going India to visit your grandparents –that's nice Mom so how long are you guys going for? Said by Prachi

Tara knees down toward Prachi than says "Beta you misunderstood me –what do you mean Mom said by Katie

Tara takes another deep breathe "Girls I mean to say we all are going India in three days, we already talked with your principle Mrs. Jen that we are going India for several years –But why Mom? Said by Katie

Dhruv placed his arms around Katie and Prachi saying "because my mother… meaning your grandmother is suffering from cancer and she desires to meet you guys before anything bad happens to her –Dad we understand your intention for going India but you have to understand my grand is coming up than soon I'll start university said by Katie

Dhruv: Katie I also understand your feelings toward London, but please give me your guys few years…please (Dhruv was all set to fold his hands in-front of the girls) "No Dad, what are you doing? You don't need to beg us because we are your daughters and we respect you that much that we are ready to go India only if Mom allows us to wear whatever we won't but nothing will be see-through because we know our maryada. Right sis"

"Absolutely right Prachi" Said by Katie.

Dhruv hugged both of his daughters along with Tara afterwards they all went down to the mandir than out for lunch because Tara didn't feel like cooking today even she deservers to have a break from kitchen work.
