Taani sat on her window sill,staring at the evening sky lost in her thoughts.She thought about how Sharon had labelled her selfish and no one had said a word.The trouble Rey was facing, choosing between her,his friends and dance.
She felt extremely guilty and sad.She had never wanted Rey to face this situation.She hadn't ever dreamt of snatching his dream away from him.
Their relationship was quite strained right now.
The D3 gang had misunderstood her and were angry with Rey for choosing her wishes over theirs,over dance.
And Swayam,though she wished atleast he would try to understand her,she knew the situation itself was totally wrong.
"Krishnaji??"she called out to the nothingness beyond her.
"Yeh sab kya ho raha hai??Ek taraf NDC ka pressure,college students ka attitude toh dusri life meri personal life mein itni saari problems.Kya main sachmuch galat hun??Agar Tauji ko pata chala ki Rey dancer hai aur unhone mujhe Rey se dur kar diya toh??Main Rey se unka dance nahi cheen na chahti Krishnaji.Aap toh jaante ho na maine unke dance se hi sabse pehle pyaar kiya??Main nahi hun selfish.Aap toh jaante ho na main kaisi hun??Ek baar apne aap ke liye kuch kiya toh itne problems kyu??Main bhale dancer nahi hun,par dance ko samajti hun.Main kyu Rey ko.."she cried and suddenly paused.
A realisation hit Taani.She wiped her tears.
"Main dance ko samajti hun.Haan.Pehli baar apne aap ke liye,apne rishte ke liye kuch kiya toh sab kuch gadbad hogaya.Mere apno ko kitni takleef ho rahi hai.Nahi.Main nahi hun aisi.Main aisa nahi kar sakti."she said standing up.
"Mere wajahse Rey ko apne Dil,dosti aur dance ke beech chun na padh raha hai.Yeh kaisa pyaar hai mera joh unhe takleef de raha hai??No.Pyaar toh woh hota hai jismein saath rehne se zyada saath nibhana zaruri hai.Mujhe Rey ko khone ka dar chodkar unhe iss pareshaani se mukht karna hi hoga.Mujhe yakeen hai ki hamara saath rehna likha hi hai,toh kuch na kuch acha zarur hoga.Par main unhe dance se dur rakhne ki galti aur nahi kar sakti."she reasoned.
"Woh mujhse itna pyaar karte hai ki mere liye,hamare rishte ke liye kuch time ke liye dance bhi chodne ko taiyaar hogaye.Main unhe aur mushkil nahi de sakti.Aaj hi Tauji se baat karungi.Baaki Krishnaji aap sambhal lena."she said making a firm decision.
Taani went to the hall and waited for her Tauji to arrive.
In the RH,
"Are you sure yeh fake break up kaam karega?"asked Rey to Sharon.
"Yes,karega.Iske baad Taani ko zarur realise hoga ki career aur ambitions kitna important hote hai,especially for a girl."Sharon replied.
"Hmm..gang aagayi,shhh."he said.
"Hi Rey!Hi Sharon!"the gang said coming in.
"Hi Guys!"replied Sharon and Rey.
"Arey Rey??Aaj tu hamare saath rehearse karne aagaya??Hamein laga tu Taani ke Tauji ke saath dinner karne gaya hoga."Vicky said faking surprise.
Rey looked down unable to say anything.
"Guys,lets start warming up,fast."Sharon said taking control of the situation.
With Taani,
Tauji arrived.
"Jai Shri Krishna Tauji."said Taani taking his bags from him.
"Jai Shri Krishna beta."he smiled.
He sat on the sofa and began removing his shoes,while Taani stood beside him fidgeting.
"Kya hua Beta??Mujhse kuch baat karni hai??"he asked her.
"Ji haan Tauji.Aapko kaise pata??"she asked surprised.
"Itni restless ho toh samaj aagaya.Main refresh hone jaa raha hun.10 minute baad mere room mein aajao.Thik hai??"he said and went into his room.
After 10 minutes she sat beside Tauji,looking down wondering how to begin.
"Bolo Taani??Kya baat hai??"he asked her.
"Tauji woh.."she hesitated.
"Beta,don't hesitate.Tell me what happened??"he urged her.
Taani took a deep breath. "Tauji mujhe maaf kar dijiye.Maine aapse ek sach chupaayi hai."she said.
"Kaisa sach beta??"he asked surprised.
"Tauji woh..Rey..woh college ke AGS hai,bohot ache aur talented hai woh sab toh sach hai.Par woh basketball team ke nahi,D3 team ke leader hai.Woh basketball player nahi,dancer hai Tauji.Dance hi unka junoon hai.Unki identity hai."she said stunning him.
She looked at his face which had shock written all over it.
"Unhone aapse jaan buch kar jhut nahi bola.Balki mere kehne par bola."she said unable to face him.
"Kya matlab??"he asked barely able to believe what Taani was saying.
"Tauji..main aur Rey..hum dono ek dusre se pyaar karte hai.And you hate dancers.Bhai ke liye toh main kabhi aapse kuch nahi bol nahi paayi..par main nahi chahti thi ki aap Rey ko jaane bigaay hi unhe reject karde ya galat samaj le.Mujhe maaf kar dijiye Tauji.I am sorry."she said.
Tauji shut his eyes taking a moment to let it all sink in.Taani looked at him anticipating the worse.
"Taani."he said. "Kya Swayam iss baaremein jaanta hai?Kya usey lagta hai ki Rey tumhare liye sahi hai??"he asked her.
"Ji Tauji.Rey toh Bhai ke best friend hai.Bhai bohot khush hai ki Rey mujhse pyaar karte hai.Rey bohot ache insaan hai Tauji."she said surprised at his question.
"Bas.Rey acha insaan hai yeh toh main jaan chuka hun.Agar Swayam ko uspar bharosa hai toh mujhe koi problem nahi hai."he said shocking Taani.
"Aise mat dekho beta.Swayam hamesha se hi tumhari zindagi mein tumhara maata,pita,bhai,behen sab kuch raha hai.Humse zyada usne tumhe sambhala hai aur tumhare zindagi ke faisle liye hai,tumhara saath diya hai.Isliye tumpar humse zyada uska haqq banta hai.Agar usne Rey ko tumhare liye accept kar liya hai toh mujhe kyu problem hogi beta??Mujhe Swayam se chaahe kitni bhi shikayat ho,par uski insaan ko parakahne ki,achai ko pehchaan ne ki taqaat par mujhe pura vishwaas hai."he said smiling.
"Sach Tauji??"asked a flabbergasted Taani.
"Haan beta.Aur rahi baat Rey ki agar woh apne dance ko,apne passion ko kuch din ke liye tumhare liye tyaag sakta hai..usi se pata chalta hai ki woh tumse kitna pyaar karta hai Taani.Mujhe iss baat par khushi hai ki tumne usey chuna hai."he said caressing her hairs.
Taani hugged him,tears of joy flowing down her cheeks.She couldn't believe what was happening.
Everything seemed like a wonderful dream!!
"Thank You Tauji!Maine nahi socha tha ki aap itni aasani se samajh jaayenge."she said breaking the hug.
"Nahi Beta.Mujhe khushi hai ki tumne der se hi sahi mujhe sach bataya.Bhale hi tumhare iss faisle se main Rey ko samajh paaya par apne junoon se dur rehna uske liye bohot mushkil hua hoga na??"he reasoned.
"Ji Tauji.Yahi wajah thi ki maine aapko sab batane ka faisla kiya.Main unhe aur takleef nahi dena chahti thi."she replied sadly.
He caressed her head lovingly and said,"Taani..Swayam ne tumhe bilkul apne jaise sanskaar diye hai.Uski tarah tum bhi dusron ke baaremein zyada sochti ho."
Taani smiled.He seemed to be warming up to Swayam more and more.
"Main kuch dino ke liye Delhi jaa raha hun.Laut the hi main Rey se milna pasand karunga.Thik hai??"
"Ji Tauji."she said.
"Thik hai beta.Raat hogayi hai.Jaao so jaao.Yeh khabar Rey aur Swayam ko kal bata dena."he said.
She smiled and nodded positively.She covered Tauji with the blanket and left the room.
Once outside she jumped and thanked Krishnaji with a huge smile on her face.
"Krishnaji thank you thank you thank you!!Aap rukhiye zara main aapse milne aati hun."she said and ran off to her favourite Krishna mandir.
She prayed to her Krishnaji and thanked him for everything,promising never to hurt Rey again in the future.
Swayam who was passing by in his car,decided to stop and go to the temple.Everything was such a mess that he needed some peace of mind.
He was greeted with the pleasant sight of a smiling Taani giving food to the beggars sitting outside the temple.
"Jeeti raho Beta."they blessed his sister.
He recollected Sharon calling her selfish.At that time he hadn't been able to say anything.But he knew his sister better and what he had just witnessed proved he was right.
"Taani??"he called her.
"Bhai!!"she said surprised to find him there.
"Tum aaj bhi inhe khaana deti ho??"he asked her.
"Haan Bhai!Kyu??"
"Nahi bas aise hi.."he said.
"Bhai main abhi aayi haan."she said going off to give her prasad to a hungry kid standing at the corner.
He smiled at the heart-warming sight of Taani hugging the poor kid and giving him the prasad.
His sister was one of the most selfless people.
At that moment he felt proud of his upbringing.
He decided it was time to talk to her.About everything.
He went upto her and the kid.He caressed the kid's cheeks.It was busy eating the prasad.
"Bohot pyaara hai."said Swayam.
"Haan Bhai."Taani smiled.
"Tumhe abhi kuch kaam hai Taani??"he asked her.
She shook her head negatively.
"Toh chalo mujhe tumse kuch baat karni hai."
"Mujhe bhi karni hai Bhai."
"Tumhe bhi??Ok fine lets go."he said surprised.
"Bye beta!!"she said ruffling the kid's hair.
Swayam did the same and both left.
They reached the beach. Taani was surprised.
Her brother always chose a serene place like a beach when he needed to talk about something really important.
She wondered what it was that he needed to say.
She decided that it was also the perfect place to tell him what had transpired between her and Tauji.
They both walked toward the waters quietly,letting the beauty of the place sink in.
Both sat down and felt the waves lapping their feet for a few minutes.
"Bhai??"Taani called out to him.
"Its time to begin."thought Swayam.
He took a deep breath.
