Sooraj's a sport

We spoke to Sooraj Barjatya on the eve of the launch of his new show Main Teri Parchhain Hoon on NDTV Imagine.

We couldn't help but ask him what he thought of Farah's spoof on him in Om Shanti Om. He surprised us with, "I had a good laugh over it.

I immensely enjoyed the movie and thought it was very entertaining. As far as the Maine Pyar Kiya reference goes, it was in good taste and humor.

I trust Farah completely and she's a lovely lady. Also with Shah Rukh around, nothing can go wrong.

" Will all those people who've been acting injured on his behalf please shut up now?

Oye Raksha! Poore film mein hans hi rahee thi ki kuch dekha bhi? šŸ˜†šŸ˜†šŸ˜†

Ok there was one scene where Omi and Shantipriya are talking about friendship and he says 'mujhse dosto karoge'. She asks him if it is a film dialogue then Pappu says ab tak nahin hai par ho sakti hai. Then you see a little boy outside the tent scribbling something and a passer-by asks him "Suraj! Kya kar raho ho beta'. Suraj replies "Bas dialogues likh raha tha".

Next is when Shanti in a veil comes to meet Omi and then they talk and she says 'Dosti ki hai...nibhani to padegi'. 🤣

I really appreciate Sooraj Barjatya for being sporty enough coz lots of spoofs r being made on him for so long and so much fun has been made out of him so many times but he always continue to make films by heart and hits after hits, without getting affected. He's a very nice man.

Now this is a classy man. No ego hassles and no enmity even when his super hit movie 'Vivah' was termed as mediocre he chose to ignore the reports and moved on to his next film. Such people are rare to find in the industry esp. when you read Farah Khan and SLB taking shots at each other.

I saw an interview of cast and crew from HAHK when they mentioned how Barjatyas treat everyone as their family member and even the spot boy is called by his first name.

I agree. I remember seeing him on Boogie Woogie once and he was so humble and polite. Even after Main Prem Ki Deewani Hoon flopped, he didn't justify himself, but humbly accepted that he had made a bad film. It would be nice if we have more humble filmmakers like him.
