Abandon Ship

As always an interesting title Hammie .

Further is why does Viplav wish to abandon the ship in the first place and Dhani does not . Shallu's marriage against his wish and consent seems as a betrayal to Viplav by his family thus the reason to flee and for Dhani its the upcoming betrayal by the Avasthi's to the family a reason to stay . Two individuals committed to each other react differently to a given situation . Who is correct and who should follow who ?

Viplav believes that his sister is a victim of ignorance. Maybe she has been cajoled by his mom or Raja to marry but right now there is nothing he can do . The family as it is never respected his wife and now its him that they have shunned . Its unacceptable for him to stay under a roof where his opinion does not matter or the family members do not lookout for each other. Raja will never be acceptable to him . Packing ones bags and moving out is the only option.

Of what we know of Viplav this behavior was not unexpected. He lacks the maturity to think thru anything and his knee jerk reactions land him more in trouble than resolve issues. For once maybe he could relate to the humiliation met by his wife at the hands of his mother. Dhani never once talked of walking away . As a man it is easier to decide unilaterally and expect the wife to follow. If not then she does not love you enough . This incident has exposed the cracks in his family that always existed.

The family panics and try to stop Viplav who drags Dhani out. She stops him to questions his decision. "Why you ask . Did you see how they treated me inside . They trust Raja more than me ".. Indeed any self respecting man and son will not want to stay on. For Viplav it is also the loss of status as the dear one in the family. Dhani reminds him of the same thing as she did when Trip riled him up . "You are giving Raja exactly what he wants ...you are playing right into his hands. " Incensed with anger no explaining would calm him and he needs to walk away ..at least for now ..even without her. He needs that space.

Dhani as the choti bahu knows of the hatred towards her from Kanak, her ex in-laws , Shallu and also understands her husbands anger. What she also knows is the Avasthi agenda . She knows that walking away is not the solution. She decides to stay back and convince Viplav to do the same.

A lot was said yesterday in the forum about Dhani and her decision to stay back . Her being Mahaan , her betraying to her husband who should be her first priority , when Viplav can fight for her why not she ? All relevant conclusions . For me she stood up as the lone fighter who did not leave the battle field or as you call ship. Its Viplav who backed off and she continued to stand and face the enemy. She is at the biggest risk too as she knows Raja's bad intentions towards her. She knows Kanak hates her and has no support in AN. Because she cares she stopped Shallus wedding before and now she will try and find a way again. This is who she is , well taught by Viplav ironically . Two thumb up from my end really.

Not a bad follow up after Viplav blowing up that is if you can somehow tolerate the parts with RAja. I said this today in another post that this actor is week . When KT & TT tracks were going on the negativity was deep as the actors were good. With this guy the scenes turn out very flat . HIm flipping to sweetness at Dhani when he sees the Tripathi watching him was childish acting versus when Trip bent to touch Dhanis feet when Vip lost the case.

Thanks for your response to my posts . Most of us started to watch the show with different expectations. The concept attracted me a lot , a widow and a rich pandit ka pota , how will they be together , had a lot of possibilities. That's done and gone . Next for me is layered and consistent characters and their progression. I am still holding on to that . Also Mishal is another reason for me on stick on as i am new to his talent . i hope you can find your own reason to stick on which I hope will be here with me all the way.

Dear Hammie 😃...Enjoyed reading your take ...as usual very well written...Viplav's decision to leave AN was correct...where there is no respect and trust in a person it gives no meaning in staying in such a place. Kanak makes all sort of excuses but she was the one who was hell bent on sending shalu in path which leads to hell.Raja acting all good gets a warning not to poke his matters in to viplav's affairs, but raja still enjoys the house being shattered in front of him.

he has his own agenda.. uses the act of goodness but it was clear he is not as he seems

Preventing viplav to leave AN all falls on dhani's head wow...now she is dil of house then where was this dil was repeatedly warning the tripathis to be aware of raja...so according to their wishes she becomes dil else she is not... Pure double standards by DT.

The devil pulls off his mask in front dhani and when he gets alerted by the people behind puts on his mask...chameleon kahi ka..the drama by raja's mom and mami is puke worthy and kanak buys it ...What you said is true such a contrast in the way kanak treats badi maa and DL...Good let her serve the avasthis to get a return gift of ton of bricks on her head.😆

There is something more to dulari's past which is yet to be explored...under what situations both dl and dhani had to leave the place...i get a feeling dhani was pretty rich due to misfortune or worst circumstances they were kicked out of that place.

Kanak madam can recognize the jewelry and differentiate between the imitation and the real but fails to recognize a gem her son and considers the imitation raja to be real...no wonder all that glitters is not gold. Suits kanak I so so pity her for she gives no value to her children at all. Raja's lust towards dhani is never ending and this rouge deserved to be punished sooner. Thank you for the wonderful update. Waiting for the next part. I totally understand Vip's frustration at the new developments and needing to share space with Raja, but I thought it was a weak move on his part to go live at the ashram with the safed gang. Wish the CVs had shown him go to Raj/Pankaj's place, or even the summer house of the Tripathis! Now that would have been a good move. If nothing, he and Dhani should shift to the guest house in the back yard, so that they do not keep seeing Raja's sick antics. Going to the ashram was endearingly Viplavesque --where else would he go other than the place which is his second home, where people understand him--but it also made him appear immature and unpractical.
hey... great options you outlined other than the ashram.. to live there premanently iam sure he wont consider... for he would be doing what is doing.. living off his in laws
Raja is beyond creepy and using his new lease of life to trouble Dhani again. I feel it will not be long til his true face is exposed, but perhaps it is wishful thinking.

The irony of Kanak, which means gold, being able to recognise spuriousness in inanimate jewelry but not in animate humans has been described well by you... and you expressed very vividly too

It would be tiring if they kept focusing on Raja troubling Dhani and threatening her honor again and again. I think the CVs should show him have broader designs than just going after the bahu of the household.

Happy cat-sitting. Is it siamese? They are really cute, and they require a lot of babying... ok so finally after 3 days i read ur 3rd april episode's take..ur introductory para is missing but a great start hammie, my english teacher..i always love ur bold lines..they are very nice..and beautifully written...i dont know why but i had loved the last part of that episode the most...OMG Kanak excels in differentiating between gold and other metals..but poor lady she could not recognise Dhani's true intentions and Raja and his family's fake dramas😕.. so obessed she is with wealth that her eyes have been set to gold... sad case

Mishal is a great actor we all know..he excels in all his scenes in all the episodes but these days Eisha's actings are also impressive..she has improved a lot, that is what i feel...all the vidha scenes have become worth watching because of proper display of emotions by both the leads⭐️

Hey hammie, as i said i did not read ur take on the saturday episode...but i had watched the episode...i am sure u must have noticed that scene..when viplav saw his family standing with raja and shalu outside AN..and both of them were in marriage dresses...did u see how Viplav, in anger, closed his fist and shaked off his neck...full on Dutta Bhao style...that scene was superb..for a moment i thought that the person infront of me on my laptop screen is not the cheerful boy but that angry Don...u are the only person who had enjoyed that particular scene the most, i think...others must have enjoyed but for them it was angry viplav but for us we had a glimpse of our gangster who can make our hearts miss a few beats even today😛😛
yes totally...the crank of the neck and the flare of the nostrils the throwing things around and the slow emphatic dialogue delivery was truly dutta in full on rage! un controllable!
