He may be donning the role of Lord Ram now, but Siya Ke Ram actor Ashish Sharma has quite a bit of experience in playing Hanuman as well. The actor has revealed that he grew up playing Hanuman's role in his community ram-leelas back in Jaipur in his early days of acting. With the show now heading towards the vanwaas track, it will soon witness the entry of Ram's biggest bhakt " Hanuman. Interestingly, the show's leading man Ashish has taken the responsibility of inducting wrestler-turned-actor Danish Akhtar into Hanuman's character, which Akhtar has been roped in to play. And word has it that Ashish is not just mentoring the actor but has also referred him to his personal trainer to ensure he gets his workouts right.
Confirming the same, Ashish says, "I am a huge Bajrangbali bhakt myself. I have played the role of Hanuman about seven to eight times in local ram-leelas in my hometown Jaipur. So I can easily say that I have enough experience to help Danish get into the skin of the character. Danish has made a drastic career change by becoming an actor from a wrestler. So I told Nikhil Sinha, our producer, that I will help Danish prepare for the role. Hope Danish makes my efforts work well on screen by pulling off the role convincingly." Looks like the reel guru-shishya relationship has translated into a real one for Ashish and Danish.
