In the case of unreleased movies, it's like you mentioned. Sooraj Venjaramood won the Best actor award 2-3 years back and people were left wondering which movie that was for. The movie finally released 2 years later😆

Speaking of producers, I think Dhanush is doing pretty well in that area. Both his ventures have won NA back to back. Good to see him doing well in that area, as well.

Manisha was tipped to win for Khamoshi but the producer had issues with her due to some fee hike for his next project. Otherwise she would have been tough competition for Tabu (Maachis) and would have most likely got support at least for the Special Jury Award since she lost out for Bombay the previous year, mainly because the producer submitted the Tamil version only and since her voice was dubbed, she didn't stand a chance ( the jury had spoken out about it). It's sad because there are others who have won the NA even though someone else dubbed for them (e.g.Kirron Kher who tried desperately to prove otherwise and Shobana for Manichitrathazha).

Dhanush has very good script sense and it's really heart-warming to see him promote good stories even as a producer.
