Chapter 2
As he entered the room, he bumped into her, causing her to lose to her balance, but before she could fall, he slide his arms around her and held her protectively in his arms. He pulled her up, her mesmerizing eyes collided with his worry filled ones.
"Careful. You are not alone now." Rey mumbled softly as he made her stand on her feet.
"Where were you?" Taani asked him, she moved toward the bed and sat on it, she was feeling little dizzy due to the fall. Rey moved toward her.
"I ended things with Nandini. She is no longer part of our lives, nor the promise i made to her." Rey told her, standing near by the bed, he watched her expression.
"What? Have you gone mad, Rey? How could you break her heart like this? Didn't i told you I can take care of my child alone, you don't have to sacrifice your love? I feel some home-wrecker now-" Taani shouted in anger. She never wanted this, they had made the deal, he will go back to his love once contract is over, he had dreams of his life with his partner, then how can she be selfish and stop him for her child?
"Shut the f**k up, taani! I haven't made any sacrifice, I have chose my own blood over someone. I want my child to have to both his parents love and guidance in its life-" Rey's anger filled voice boomed in the room, making her shiver in fear. She had never seen him angry, atleast not on herself.
"Taani, think about this calmly. Do you want our child to live fatherless? Do you want our child to chose any of us to spend his weekends, vacations if we separated? Our child deserve better. He deserve both the parents in his life, a perfect family. Be little selfish for our child's happiness." Rey knelt down before her and spoke calmly, making her understand his point of view.
"But what about us? Won't our Child fill hurt when he will realize his parents don't love each other?" Taani questioned him, looking straight into his eyes.
"We don't love each other because we never tried knowing each other. For us, this marriage was a deal which will end in a year, we always had that thought in our mind, we never let our hearts open up for each other. Can we atleast give each other a chance? When we have decided to stay together for our child, why don't we give a shot to whatever thats between us?" Rey said to her with a smile, taani was thinking deeply. It was true, she had always maintained a safe distance from him, didn't let herself get emotionally attached to him knowing he is not hers, one day they will get separated.
"What if things didn't work out?"
"Let our destiny decide that. Let everything happen naturally, we will continue to live our lives like we were, but this time, it will be natural. Then let see where it lead us to-" Rey replied to her, he understands its difficult for her. For anyone it would be, knowing her partner is already in love with someone else.
"Will you be able to forget Nandini?" Taani nervously fidget with her fingers, hoping she hadn't upset him by bringing Nandini.
"It will take little time, but its not impossible. People move on, I'll too. I have a better future ahead with our baby and you. I'll give my 100 % to our marriage. Trust me." Rey said to her, her, he was ready to move on with her. He understood Nandini wasn't meant to be his. A part of his heart still belong to her, but her memories had faded away in past one year. Now he doesn't crave for her like he used to. Now the want to be with her, had reduced, almost gone after the news that he is going to be father.
"Will you give our marriage a chance?" Rey asked her softly, taani was looking at him with moist eyes. A part of her screamed yes, but other part was still scared. She knew about his past, was scared if he didn't fall for her. For her, its better to live with out him then be with him knowing he doesn't love her.
Like every normal girl, she too had dreams of happy married life but all were broken when her father forced her to get married to Rey, in the name of business deal. She knew this marriage will not last forever, but now things have changed. Though she doubt he will be able to love her as his wife, but she was ready to give it a try.
