Sudha Chandran to play a cop sporting a blazer in Kyunki…!

Whether it's bumping off a character or inducting a new one, no one does it better than Ekta Kapoor. The brutal murder of Tripti Virani (played by Suvarna Jha), one of Tulsi's various daughters-in-law in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, has necessitated the need of a cop to investigate the murder. Ekta roped in Sudha Chandran to play the cop. Says our source, "The focus is now on nabbing the culprit. The cop will have a very interesting track."

Sudha Chandran, keyed up about her new role and the new shows that she will be a part of, says, "I am very excited about my role, it's different and will be a big challenge. My character, ACP Ragini Suryavanshi, is an honest official and can gauge a person by an eye contact. Her eyes keep roving to spot the culprit. This is a performance-oriented role. As a cop I will have a new look and attire where I will be wearing blazers. I am thankful to Balaji for giving me three shows (Kyunki…, Kuch Is Tarah and Kar Le Sapne Pure) after I was ousted from Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 2," she informs.

Initially Shweta Kawaatra was chosen to play the role, says the source, but since she was busy with some other assignment, Ekta thought of roping in Shveta Salve. "However, Ekta decided that Sudha Chandran would be a better choice," the source adds.

Ekta Kapoor confirms that Kawaatra's name was considered but now Chandran is doing it. She asserts, "I want to work with Kawaatra again (they last worked together in Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii), but it did not happen this time. We have signed Sudha to play the cop in Kyunki..."

I saw her in KSBKBT yesterday. Her character has loads of attitude & Sudha is doing a brilliant job as usual.

Just saw yesterday's Kyunki episode and Sudhaji is just looking stunning in the formal wear 👏 😳 ...She is hving a certain amount of grace and style which is always reflected on screen in all her characters 😛
