Hi Friends!
This is going to be a long post since I haven't written much after my first one and may not be able to write much again. And I will definitely start here----

SAGAR - He has been my show stealer over the last couple of weeks. It has all been about him discovering himself, his love for Gangaa, his decision to accept her socially, and his courage to face the world for her sake. What I love, love, love about Sagar's character (and Vishal's portrayal of it) is that he seldom raises his voice to make his point! He can deliver the most effective lines quietly but with such a surety that they hit the bull's eye. It also says a lot about the faith he has on their relationship and how much it means to him 👍🏼

The other thing I love about him is that he respects Gangaa as an individual. In an earlier episode there was a scene where Ammaji is constantly referring to Gangaa as a 'vidhwa' when Sagar retaliates saying she is not a 'vidhwa.' I can vouch that most other soap heroes would have predictably followed this up with - 'she is my wife' or some such thing to prove she is a 'suhagan.' However, our Sagar is different - what he says is 'Gangaa is Gangaa' and then talks about her as an individual. To Sagar, Gangaa's first identity is her self - and this is proof that he considers her his equal and not somebody whose existence is qualified by her relationship with him. Now, that's a man I respect immensely 👍🏼

The loveliest part of SaGa's portrayal is that there is so much passion but so little melodrama. To be sure, Sagar did a lot of dhamaka on Holi but I still feel it was done very reasonably and elegantly in comparison to other shows. Also, a very noticeable thing is Sagar does not give in to emotional blackmail. Not a lot of soap leads can walk away when their granny is threatening to kill herself if he doesn't listen to her - and we know how much he loves the old lady. I am not judging whether this is right or wrong - but it is surely different!

Coming to the Holi sequence, it couldn't have been timed better 😃 With so much happening about the same issue in India, I am happy that the show kept to its social message and with such beauty 😊 Many people have already said a lot about it - so I won't repeat that. Only that Gangaa, you are a lucky girl 😳 How can a woman not fall in love with a man who has such immense strength of mind, purpose and willpower - and can go to such lengths for his love 😳

To conclude on Sagar, Vishal is doing such a fab job - I just wish he gets noticed and bags a few awards for this role. Such an understated yet powerful performance is not seen very often on Indian telly. His expressions - love, longing, wonder, affection, faith, courage, disbelief - everything is portrayed to perfection. Keep it up Vishal 👏👏

Now coming to ...
Gangaa - She has not had much to do in the past few days except to absorb whatever is happening around her. Aditi as usual is doing a good job. I will however mention one scene - Gangaa's confrontation with Ammaji. Again, very unlike other soaps. Our lady did not go the run of the mill "ideal" beti/bahu way. She is defiant and upright and she kept to her character. While she spoke of her love and her soul, she also spoke of normal human desires including physical ones between a man and a woman. She was not afraid to point out Ammaji's flaws of judgment and double standards too. Now how many telly heroines can do that?? Kudos to the CVs for keeping the show so realistic and the characters so consistent. SaGa are certainly made for each other! 👍🏼 👏

Next, the future track and spoilers ...
There may not be many people with me here 😃 but I am actually looking forward to the post-separation track. Generally, in non-saas bahu serials, once the hero-heroine come together, the show loses its punch. The CVs rely much on silly MUs or go the saas-bahu way where unfortunately, the male leads dwindle into a side kick. Finally, the TRPs dwindle too and the show is taken off air 😭 Here too, if SaGa had been together, the main plot would have revolved around their family accepting them, Janvi's antics, Prabha's politics and again silly MUs. Of course, the CVs could be more creative but then they are taking an easy way out for once. To be sure, I would have liked SaGa to be probably married for a bit and then separate (so that we could have some SaGalicious scenes ) but I have very much enjoyed their love-hate track before/after the confession. So, I would look forward to a post-separation track too where I can again see Sagar and Gangaa's passion in full sway 😳 It may be a bit repetitive, but there I have faith on the CVs to make the individual sequences interesting and unique! 👍🏼 They are keeping the high point of the show in store for the future and I will go with them in this - because I want to watch the show for a long time 😊

Finally, a few things I do not like:
1. Niranjan - It may have been the easy way out but I do not like this change. He was my man of the show (even after Sagar's arrival) and I would have liked it if he remained the same. A good character wasted here - I hope they show some justification for his inconsistent behavior later - to resurrect our Niru 😭
2. Mamaji/Ratan - Again, he was not a very noticeable guy but his transformation is silly. Prabha and Yash were sufficiently intolerable for the negatives. They didn't really need to change Ratan. Could have shown little creativity here 👎🏼
3. Yash - Whatever happened to his case?? If a guy runs away from police custody, do they close the case?? Everyone seems to have forgotten that Yash had got bail - not released from charges!
4. Janvi - Though I am thankful about her absence, but is it logical? She learnt about Sagar and Gangaa from Yash and was even shown to think of a plan to separate them but nothing came of it!!! (or did I miss anything🤢) Looks like the CVs changed their mind and instead focused on making Niru bad - NOT DONE! 🤢👎🏼 And why, after knowing everything, is she sitting far away still? I hope they show us something later to prove that Janvi did something to make Niru like this - that would give Niranjan back to us and make sense too.

WHOA - so, that did become a looong post. Whoever has reached until here (I am sure very few), please do not mind. I had to pour my heart out 😆 and thanks for bearing with me until here.

Before finishing, I love you Sagar - and Vishal, you rock!

Kudos to your post!! It basically said what everybdy's feeling for the last ccouple of weeks. I do want to say that I like your spin on the possible future tracks and spoilers. Like everyone else, I was also disappointed but still was holding out hope that something different happens. Or if they do get married, then divorce happens or something like that to show a shift/change in Sagar's character. I don't want him to totally become angry young man cz again that would be stereotypical and something he's already done in his previous show. The reason we love Sagar is, as you mentioned, how he can get his point across with certainty without raising his voice even if he's angry. I just dn't understand how he would lose it this time to this extent. I agree that the separation would be good for them in a way cz we could see some intense and passionate SaGa moments but the problem is if he's married, then we'd have a long wait for that to happen or a whole bunch of dream sequences again. I do have to say that like you, even I wanted the separation to happen a little later. I wished that SaGa got a chance to explore their adult feelings and this new relationship of love. It's true that they were childhood friends and more than that, soulmates but we can't forget that they hadn't met or communicated for 10 odd yrs. Bachpan se jawani tak mila hi nahi. All of us change in big and small ways. They haven't gotten to explore and learn those changes in each other. Each had their individual journey's of realizing and accepting their feelings but we didn't have a chance to see their journey together. IF not marriage but at least, they should've given them and us time to see how they fit in day to day life and not just heavy duty situations cz we know they'll both always be there for each other.
I guess we'll just have to wait and see how it turns out. We'll have to see how the separation happens and it's impact on all the characters. Like I said, I'm still holding out hope that it's either a fake marriage to hurt Gangaa (coz he himself claimed how he considers them married and legally he cannot marry again) or if it happens, divorce occurs after the leap. It would be really disappointing to see Sagar give into his anger so easily. I understand the anger and want for revenge but just hope he doesn't take it too far. Also, this twist will also negate all that the show has been demonstrating all this time. It would be making fun of their msg and promoting the wrong msg that widows can be treated however and marriage is a joke.

As for Niru, I sort of disagree. I think they purposely showed the change. I also didn't like it at first and was really mad and disappointed but then after thinking about it, I realized that there's a method to this madness. The whole msg and point of the show is to not only show the hard lives and unfairness that widows esp child widows have to face but also the hypocritical society. I think they wanted to show how some people regardless of how educated and broad minded they claim to be, when it comes to practicing what they preach, they back out due to societal pressures or deep rooted traditional thinking. We had already seen the shift in MAdhavi's character before the leap so I think they showed Niru's change to get the point across in a more impactful manner. It def forced us to look into ourselves and think how we would react to these situations.

Don't want to talk abt the rest of the characters cz they just give me a headache and bad taste in my mouth. I just wanna focus on SaGa and their beautiful moments.

I also tend to ramble on once I get started so don't wry abt post length.

Also if you want to join, I had started a thread where we were talking abt the episodes, the performances and lately, the spoilers. It's fun and a really great place to vent and ramble.

Once again, great post!!

Thanks a bunch for your lovely response 🤗 I do get your point about Niru but it's still a sad case to see the reality of someone who I thought would stay fair and strong until the end but anyway...

As for the future track, very honestly I didn't (and perhaps still don't) believe that Sagar will marry Janvi - that's why I didn't mention it in my post also 🤢 but now with so many spoilers out, looks like it's gonna happen 🥱 I still hope it would be just an engagement or fake or there would be a divorce after the leap as you said, and if there isn't, then they have to work really hard to make it look logical and consistent, which has been their strength so far. As of now I find it hard to believe that they would really have their lead marry and stay married to the baddy and then chasing the girl 😕😭 Honestly doesn't make sense at this point - so I will just wait and watch and keep my fingers crossed hoping the CVs don't ruin it...

I too don't want Sagar to marry Janvi.🤢.I didn't believe in that part of the spoilers and so didn't mention it in my post too. It would be very stupid if they show that since Sagar is a very stable and firm guy. He hasn't done anything rashly yet. Also, he is persistent and despite being hurt, he didn't give up on Gangaa initially when she was misbehaving with him. So, showing him marry Janvi out of anger will not be like him at all 👎🏼 There would be some separation but I hope, hope and hope it's not this marriage or some stupid MU. I expect the CVs to be a little creative here and would wait and watch for now 😊

No marriage for me also - trust me I really thought those spoilers are fake 😊 if Sagar marries Janvi, it would be very unlike him and they would not show a married male lead pining for the heroine. Separation will come though - the spoilers would be true there I think 😭 So, we can only make the best of the situation. It would.have been nice if they had shown them together for some more time but the CVs have something else in.mind If however they show the marriage, I will be disappointed🤢🤢
