This isn't about the characters because we see Ishita, Raman, the Bhallas, the Iyers, and Ruhi all celebrating and loving Ishita & Raman's symbol of love being born through Shagun.
This is about the women who will never have a Godh Bharai of their own. Or those will have one only after paying $10,000 on treatments, many of which fail before that one blessing from Bhagwan sticks around.
This is the sheer insult and inhumanity of EK, SJ, and SP to have an infertile woman tie a fake baby bump to her and sit in a pooja. This is about the infertile woman who is saying a surrogate is also the mother of her child and fills the surrogate's godh.
-----
Rituals are sacred. From my understanding, a Godh Bharai is done of a first time mother. Shagun had her ritual when pregnant with Adi and Ishita had hers with Ruhi. Does this ritual done for Ishita-Raman's blood child hold more precedence over Ruhi & Ishita's godh bharai?
Regardless is this ritual shown in today's episode consider sacred? Maybe if Ishita had the proper work up for infertility treatments and then turned to surrogacy, we would be more accepting because that is the general path couples follow. Regardless this event should've been just about Ishita and her baby and not had this fake baby bump or passing of all the wishes to Shagun in my opinion.
If Ishita's magical pregnancy wasn't an insult to infertile women to you, then this definitely is.
Step outside of the characters and your hate for Shagun and see the sheer lack of empathy and sympathy women have for infertile women. In all honesty, even during the protests...people hated the fact Shagun was the surrogate mother, not the immorality of the actions. Society watches these shows passively; does this mean they too don't see anything wrong with the shunning of infertile women?

YHM has been a decent show and has shown really ridiculous and stupid things in the name of SP's Nayi Soch...but this episode is honestly just disturbing, uncomfortable, and hurtful to the core.
TV shows are for entertainment - so why must they falsely pick up these social issues as a marketing tool but RUIN them in execution? Many other nations' shows don't try to include moral issues and so don't face this issue. So why does desi TV thrive on this false marketing?
I hope SJ, EK, and Star Plus and everyone who passively acts or watches this episode without thinking never has to suffer like an infertile couple. I hope that EK, BT, and SP make all the money in the world from this.
And most importantly, I hope no one struggling with infertility watches this show.
Sorry for the wordiness but I couldn't help myself today! Please understand - this is NOT a cry for change or a plea to the ever heartless makers because that doesn't matter in the face of money and I can understand that...it's just disappointment at the world overall for their general views on infertility of men and women. I know nothing is going to change and no one is going to grow a conscious but the internet is for anonymous sharing of thoughts, na?! đ
