Hi guys! Just 5 episodes and I'm already in love with SwaDarsh. <3 This is just a random idea that popped into mind of couple of days back, I just had to get it out of there and pen it down. I hope you guys like it! 😊
His Muse
He watched her from the distance as she moved under the dim street lights. There was an air of panic to her demeanour. A smile tugged at the corners of his lips as she mumbled to herself, exasperated. She landed her scooty a light blow, mumbling, "Couldn't you have chosen a better day for this?" Adarsh couldn't help but notice how adorable she looked when she was vexed. She was going to be the death of him.
"Someone's looking very stressed," Swadheenta heard a voice quip in the near distance. She swiftly turned around, her heart pounding against her chest. It wasn't another goon, was it? She rummaged through her bag, hastily looking for the can of pepper spray. "Wh...who's there?" she asked, nervously, as she held out the can, ready to attack. She saw a tall, built silhouette of a man standing in the distance, arms folded, assuming an intimidating stance. She heard him chuckle. "So now its pepper spray after chilli powder. So much for trying to help," he said in mock dismay.
She sighed in relief as the enigmatic figure revealed himself as he emerged from the blinding head lights of his car. Adarsh. She shoved the can back into her bag as he approached her. "What are you doing here?" she asked. "How about you tell me what you're doing here, first," he suggested, a lop sided smile playing at his lips. She looked up at him, flustered. "Are you stalking me?" she snapped. He smiled. "If fate has it that I bump into you every few hours, how am I to blame?" he countered. Swadheenta rolled her eyes. He was at it again. "So...," Adarsh probed. "Long story short, I was on my way home and I ran my scooty over these stupid shards of glass and now my tyres are punctured," she muttered. Adarsh smirked. "How about I drop you home?" he suggested, feigning innocence. Swadheenta was quick to refuse, "No thanks. I'll figure something out." "At 11 in the night? How exactly do you plan on getting home, may I ask?" he asked, in genuine solicitude for her. She paused for a minute. She glanced around at her surroundings, it was eerily quiet, devoid of any life. Her phone was dead too. He was right.
He smiled. "Coming?" he asked. "But I can't leave the scooty here, in the middle of the road." Adarsh walked over to it and wheeled it over to the roadside, behind a tree, where it was less likely to be spotted. "I'll send for the mechanic. You can pick it up later, from his workshop." Swadheenta stared at him. Why is he being so annoyingly kind?, she thought. "I know you're marvelling at my altruistic nature and you're really just itching to thank me, but honestly, you needn't," he said, an edge of triumph draping his voice as he fished out his car keys from his pocket. Swadheenta shot him a glare, piqued, resisting the urge to retort. Kind, my foot!, she thought.
She followed him to his car. He held the door open for her. She got in, rolling her eyes at his evident efforts to impress her. The next few minutes passed in a peculiarly comfortable silence. Adarsh cleared his throat. "Still sure you don't want to go out with me anywhere, on coffee or something?" he asked, hoping she'd miraculously give in. Swadheenta sighed and flashed a forced smile at him. "You don't give up, do you? I'm very sure," she said, dismissively."Miss Stubborn," he muttered under his breath. She raised an eyebrow. "Did you say something?" she asked, suspiciously. "No, nothing at all!" he averred. She nodded, though unconvinced.
"How are you planning on taking the case forward?" Adarsh asked. She sighed. "You aren't taunting me, are you?" He scrunched his eyebrows. "So I perceive, the word 'villain' and Adarsh are almost synonymous in your dictionary. Ouch." Swadheenta bit her lip in a rather futile attempt to contain the smile that threatened to tumble out onto her face. "You can smile, you know. I don't mind," he stated, shrugging. And this time, she obliged. She gazed out of the window, a subtle but bewitching smile adorning her face. Adarsh glanced at her through the rear view mirror. Her smile was contagious. The next few minutes passed with Swadheenta directing him towards her house. "You look beautiful when you smile," he commented, out of the blue, trying to be casual. Swadheenta turned to his side, folding her arms across her chest, seemingly amused. "Don't play all your cards just yet, Mr. Sinha. You might just find yourself running out of ideas sooner than you expected," she said, a small smile playing at her lips. He smiled, "Call me Adarsh." She shook her head, fascinated by his obstinate tenacity to woo her. "Oh, you can stop here. We're at my house," she said. He pulled over, in front of her house. She stepped out and turned to look at him. "Adarsh?" she called. He looked up at her, pleasantly surprised. "Thanks. For today, yesterday and the day before." His smile widened. "Any time. And Swadheenta, if there's anything I can do to help you in your case, I gladly will. Just ask me." She smiled and nodded, "Not that I think I will need your help but thanks for the offer, anyway. Goodnight Adarsh." With that she turned and headed towards her house.
Adarsh watched her retreating figure, in a trance, beguiled by her every word and every move. He could feel his heart flutter, the pit of his stomach erupting with butterflies. That night had been a night of pleasant surprises. After a wait that seemed like forever, Swadheenta finally seemed to have a change of heart towards him. She'd infiltrated his heart and mind without even trying to. He didn't know what the future held for the two of them but right then, all he wanted to do was revel in those moments that he'd spent with her. He was falling in love.
Or maybe he already was in love.
