Saath Nibhaana Saathiya'sKokila aka Rupal Patel is one of the main characters in the series. The actress plays mother in law to Gopi, essayed by Devoleena Bhattacharjee. Kokila ben is one of a kind. I'm a fan of the kind of solidarity and support she shows to her bahuGopi.For once, the mother in law isn't the vamp' who's out to get her daughter in law for norhyme or reason. However, one thing that irks me about Kokila is the way she acts and emphasizes every word in her dialogue.Playing intimidating is one thing but coming across as victim who is receiving shock therapy is another. Whenever I see Kokila on- screen, I get a sense that someone is electrocuting her every 5 minutes and as a result her eyes are popping out her socket. Apart from her shocking ways (literally!), I've had enough of her hand gestures. Kokila has the tendency to point to a person she is addressing. I somehow get the feeling that in her head, she thinks sheis addressing a rally and is a political representative of some sort. If not this, I see no reason as to why she needs to perpetually yell and point to stuff, constantly. Kokila ben, they are right in front of you, what's with the unnecessary third degree treatment?Lastly, I think Kokila seriously needs to take a chill pill. I can't remember the last time she smiled, laughed and did NOT yell. If I were Gopi, I would have asked her to STFU even if she was taking my side. Because, volume people!So Kokila please calm the hell down and don't exert so much. Gopi on the other hand could take the volume up a notch. With so much crap going on in Modi bhavan, her calmness comes across as bad acting and not an inspiring quality. Gopi, itna bhi style main nahin rehne ka!
