@DD difference between Janak and Dasrath is their ego. Accepting defeat is one thing, but it needs more courage to accept mistake. Janak knows Putri moh is a mistake and he should not be doing it. But even then he is doing it and he accepts it. Acceptance of mistake helps in easy correction.

In Dasrath's case burdened by traditions even though his heart knows about the mistake, he is unwilling to accept it. You get anger when you know you are at fault and don't want to admit it. Instead of directing the anger inwards, you direct it at an object or person who can be an easy target. In Shanta's case Dasrath knew it was Putra moh because of which Shanta had to be a rishi's wife. Again with Kaikeyi when she asks the question whether he gave the vachan instead of explaining it calmly he berates her reason Ram-Moh. Dasrath is tied with Moh-Maya. And that Moh-Maya is going to take him down when Ram starts the vanvass.
The Moh with which he justified his mistakes will finally take him down. It is not Kaikeyi who is only responsible for Ram's vanvass though Dasrath made it look like that. It was a problem with both of them in which Ram became the collateral damage.
@DD I better don't talk about make up. Both head ornament and nose ring stuck out. Sita's gold chain was too loud and lacked aesthics. Bahus of normal TV shows look more beautiful in their bridal lehenga and make up. And tomorrow Sita's neckpiece looks like a weirdo. πŸ˜•

Dashratha is ruled by insecurities and fears.. Like sumitra had rightly said in the first epi "maharaj aap jitna bhay ko sar chadhaenge vo utna hi nritya karega"

And dashratha forgets this every time. His fear, his insecurity resurfaces every time. I guess this is where the line of fear Vs intuition starts. Yaar post banega ispe πŸ˜† bana du?

No comments on the look.. I wish urmila was given a lighter shade of pink. That colour didn't suit her.

P.S: I tend to reply always as am on a long break from last week owing to my eye which is now better... I hope ppl don't get bored with my incessant replies πŸ˜†

@DD difference between fear and intuition has to be made a separate post. Coming to Urmila I agree.Pastel shades suits Yukti more. The present pink has made her face look darker. They could have either given baby pink or light orange for Yukti's bridal look.

A father's feelings for his daughter embroils him in a conflict with himself. It takes him on a path ,which he himself knows is contrary to the principles, that define him. But he is swept away by his inability to let his daughter go.He is fortunate in that, not only his family understand his helplessness ,but also his son-in -law whose respect for him never wavers .The scene between him,Ram and Sita is one of the best scenes I have ever seen on t.v.It brought a lump to my throat with its quiet poignancy.
dd@I am waiting for you to find the symbolism in this with respect to his daughter's life after her vidaai.
Shruthi,fabulous post once again.

Yes Savitha. Both Ram's and Sita's dialogues were touchy, but not preachy. It was kind of role reversal. Sita looked upto him always and her actions were based on his principles and today when her father is putting her in conflict, she is requesting him not to. Not to step back on his dharma he had adhered to all his life.

Shruthi
It was the way she tries to appeal to his protective instincts without dwelling on his present state that touches a chord. The pride in Ram's face for his wife and the dawning lucidity in Raja Janak's expression was excellently portrayed.
