Utkarsh Gupta aka Michael shares about his new show D4-Get Up & Dance and his euphoria in glamour industry.

Define Utkarsh?

Utkarsh is fun loving guy. Who doesn't care what world speaks about him. He does what he wants to do.

When passion for acting started?

I never had passion for acting. When I left my house my only dream is to buy a home for my mother.

How is the journey from left out guy to a star?

I feel my journey is so easy. Because I never cared about anyone. I did all the work what I got in my way. First I use to do shows in Dubai, then they send me here for auditions and I got selected in Kaise Yeh Yaariyan, then Spiltsvilla and now I'm doing D4-Get Up & Dance.

You started your journey as dancer. Dance is your passion or need?

Dance is my need. I have no interest in education. I completed my 12th and I chose dance. I've lot of financial problems. So because of that I learned dance in such a way that I became instructor and then did lot of shows. Again I gone back to Dubai. From Dubai again I came Mumbai.

What appealed you most in D4?

First is Dance. Then the love story of this show is very unique. Every character as its own aura which will make people to fall in love with the show.

Fans are very much impressed with your new look. Is it script demanded or your instincts?

Initially when I heard about Michael is a guy who have much attitude, our director Siddharth, gave me a workshop which is related to acting and theatre. He gave me freedom to imagine how Michael should be. I worked so hard that when I shoot now, I don't feel I'm Utkarsh.

Michael is very tough nut with lot of arrogance. Why he is like that?

Michael have very bad past. Michael was thrown out of his house because of Dance. He shares the same ego like his dad which never made him to go back to his house. Whatever he is today is all because of his own talent and strength. In between he earned to complete his education and cried too much to meet his mother. So this all made him a tough nut.

What homework you did for role of Michael?

I kept myself alone for 3 months. I use to wear hoody for gym. I'm a lazy bug. But for sake of Michael I use to go gym morning and night. Even now if I come back late night from shoot, still I go for gym.

What similarities Utkarsh and Michael share?

There is no similarities between Utkarsh and Michael expect dance.

You played as musician in your debut show and now as a dancer. So what is the connection of yours with fine arts?

It is luck. Because I can play guitar and I got a chance as a musician in Kaise Yeh Yaariyan. I know dance and that is why I gave audition for D4. There it happened with sure luck. But here I gave nod thinking I know little bit dance and I can manage. But not at all. Here you really need to work hard and harder.

Is it follow-up of D3?

Not at all. Though everyone are thinking that it may be sequel. D4 is completely different. It is dance show like D3. But it has its own shades and love aura.

Are you nervous when you faced the camera for the first time for Kaise Yeh Yaariyan?

Too much of nervous. Yaariyan team is surrounded with full of lovable cadre. They been much supportive.

Do you faced any blow which completely changed your perception for this acting?

I'm a positive person from initial days. So ultimately I see positive things around me. Though I faced blows also it doesn't matter to me because as I said I do what I want.

What is in stored for the fans from D4?

D4 is full of package. Love story, Punk Kernel, comedy and dance. Well all I can say is "The man who have much of arrogance in him, is the only guy who can love a girl to utmost". For now fans have to bare his attitude and anger but soon they can see his love towards Baby.

What is your next aim?

For now I did not decided anything. Though I was not interested in acting I started doing it because I have to fulfill dreams of my mother. But yes I love to learn the things which are connected to nature
