Certainly the difference exist. But what I meant is, possibility of Vali killing Ravan. If anyone could have killed Ravan, there is no need for Vishnu to come as Rama. Moreover Ravan was one among the dwara bhalak. So the destination was well decided ahead before the start of journey.

Yes Raavan was dwara balak.

He was given to options by vishnu to gain moksha

One was short cut and another was long

In the shorter one , he just needed to be killed by the GOD himself , so he was destined to be born as raavan and get killed by avataar of vishnu .

Thats why I said that it took someone special to kill raavan who was nout bound by any boons of the gods.

U didnt understand my points. I didnt deny you. I said Vali was possible enough to kill Ravan and certainly he was not the one alone even others had the ability but not the destiny.
